Chapter Fifty Six: The Birthday.

Kimia's POV 🖤.

27th of November.

It marked the 24th year that I was born into this world.

And I'm spending it alone. For the first time ever. I've always had someone by my side but with Rosa gone, I was alone.

Don't get me wrong, I'm happy for her. I just missed her so badly.

" Happy birthday Kim." Andy greeted and I smiled.

" Thanks."

" You have a visitor."

" Who is it?"

" I don't know who she is but she seems to be a government agent."

Government agent?!

" Tell whoever it is that I'm currently not receiving any guests."

" Okay."

He left but came back shortly after with a terrified look on his face.

" She's not going anywhere. I don't understand what she said but I think she threatened to kill me in a foreign language."

Foreign language?

Government agent?

Wait!

" Thanks Andy." I got up from the bed and followed Andy down the hall. The door opened and I saw Tobi seated with her leg propped on the table.

" Took you long enough Reynolds."

" What are you doing here Johnson?"

" Excuse us." She said to Andy and he immediately scurried away.

" Firstly, Happy birthday."

" Thank you."

" Secondly, why are you here?"

" I'm sure you already know that by now-"

" I want to hear it from you."

" This is kind of where I live."

" Then why were you in Havana?"

" Tobi-"

" Answer me."

" I was there to help the government on a top secret mission in exchange for my best friend's freedom."

" And Damien?"

" Was just an agent."

" Lie."

" It's the truth, Agent Myers was nothing more than a partner."

" I'm not an idiot Kimia. I know when 2 people are in love and you both were."

I chuckled.

" If you thought Damien and I were in love then you clearly need to get your eyes checked."

" Kimia I want to know what happened."

" We were on a mission-"

" Not that. To you and Damien."

" Nothing-"

" Kimia."

" Fine! I was in love with him and he didn't feel the same way."

" Was that what really happened?"

I sighed and told her everything.

" You shouldn't have left. He promised you something and you have waited till he fulfilled it."

" It's not that simple."

" I know it's not."

" How are you holding up?"

" I've been better."

" But he really loved you. I could tell."

" He lied."

" Don't get me wrong Kim, I'm not trying to say what he did was right. But he lied because he didn't know any other way of getting you."

I clenched my jaw.

" I know what I saw. You too were so in love. You were happy and it was very easy to tell but now you're not."

" I was jealous of you."

" Why?"

" Because you didn't care. At that time I thought you were an agent. And you and Damien were on the same mission but you were so in love that you didn't care about the rules."

She paused.

" Daxon and I once dated."

I knew something was up with those two!

" But I broke up with him because I was afraid, I cared too much about what people thought. I cared too much about the rules. He begged me to take him back but I refused. Then he moved on. And I was heartbroken and furious.

But when I saw you and Damien, I realised I was being stupid. So I told him how I felt."

" What did he say?"

" At first he didn't say anything. So I left. Then he ran about a mile from his house to mine to make out with me. And we've been together since."

" So, what are you saying?"

" I'm saying don't make him wait too long. You might lose him. He deserves a second chance."

" And if he lies to me again?"

" Then you cut him off fir good. I will personally throw him out of your life. I might also add some Yoruba curses just to make him suffer." She said and I laughed.

" I'll consider it. Thanks for coming."

" You're welcome. Oh and I got you something." She brought out a KitKat bar and slid it over to me and I grinned.

I always knew I liked her for a reason.
