Asking For Death

When the two came to a stop, and the young girl finally had the time to process the people before her, she felt her body tremble slightly as they looked at her. It was very odd to be stared at by so many people for the first time, and the look of an unknown emotion in their eyes made her even more unsure of what to do.

It wasn't until her gaze fell onto the only person sitting that she felt her heart steady a bit, her nose quickly catching the scent the male gave up.

Without any warning, the girl swiftly managed to struggle free, her actions catching Jake off guard as he finally lost his hold of her. With her freedom, instead of fleeing away as the group had thought, the girl rushed into the room and made her way to the thrown.

In a daze, the group of people watched dumb founded while the little girl moved to Xander and swiftly climb up onto his lap! Their expressions were of shock and no one thought to react to stop her!

Safely on his lap, the little girl shifted, burrowing herself into his side as she clutched his new shirt, hiding her face between his arm and ribs.

It was this action that brought Xander from his contemplation as he finally opened his eyes to look down at the trembling figure that was now clinging to him. Blinking a few times, he paused as if lost himself. No one in the room seemed to know what to do at that moment.

It wasn't until one of the females regained herself that she moved to take the girl away, that Xander finally moved, waving her to stop as he shifted, taking in the little ones scent. It was as if his world finally found light again. There was only one problem...

His mate was a child! This was illogical...His expression was blank as his mood soared from being happy to being confused to being upset and then happy again. He truly didn't understand how to feel at this moment.

The great Xander, now was at a lost with how to take this situation... It wasn't until Jake had coughed, standing to the side that Xander finally pulled his thoughts together.

Ignoring the group of people standing behind him, waiting to remove the girl from his lap, Xander lightly patted the girls head. His voice was soft and for once held no oppressive nature to it. "Its okay....Come now, look up." he stated, speaking to the huddled figure.

The young girl blinked a few times, her body easing up as she stopped trembling before moving to look up at the male, eyes slightly watered.

"Nn. Its fine, Whats your name?" he then asked, still giving a caring kind of tone.

The group standing around seemed at a loss again, each of them turning to look at one another as they tried to figure out why their emotionless and cold king was giving a child such caring treatment, surely they were asleep?

The girl blinked a few times, tilting her head to the side while looking up at him with a confused expression. She clearly couldn't understand anything he had said. Xander, himself wasn't sure why but his heart felt a bit troubled as he looked at her watered eyes and sighed, petting her head as he turned his attention to Jake.

It was then that Jake finally snapped out of his daze and moved to Xanders side, telling him of the matter from before, where he'd found the girl and how he'd struggled to get her to the palace. Not once had the girl spoken.

After processing the information, Xander nodded before looking at the girl again, he shifted to pressing her nose lightly. "Then I'll call you Amena." he said before standing up, holding the girl in his arms as he made his way out of the meeting room, leaving the group behind without speaking another word to them.

Lost, the group looked at one another before finally sighing and heading to go about their own tasks now that the meeting was clearly over.
