Meanwhile at the training grounds, Rebus finished his evening training and walked over to a nearby log. His aching muscles made him even more annoyed. He was a mighty Devil stuck in a mortal's body.
Firstly, the mortal body was very weak. So he had to strengthen each muscle with brutal training every day. He did not want to take his training lightly either.
The dangers he faced right after he came here were too many. For fail safe he reserved his devil energy inside his body, to use when needed.
Sylas ran over to him and slung his hand over his shoulder, "Bro, Huyt is still angry with Eru, tell him hide and never come out," he whispered. This mortal was too close to him for liking, so he patted his hand off.
"He is going to talk to his is dad to calm him down," he said.
"Oh, okay, it's high time I went and visited that slacker. He is skipping too many classes I rarely see him anymore. Did he forget his best friend, ah? How could he?" Sylas whispered with a pout.
Rebus gazed at him with a wooden stare. This kid had always been too close to Eru for his liking. At all times, Rebus tried to keep him away. But he ends up sticking to the little prince like a leach.
'Maybe I should just kidnap my prince and lock him up in a castle,' he thought for a second.
He shook his head. "No, he will definitely hate that,"
The lively little prince who always likes to cause trouble would not able to survive sanely in a lonely castle. Rebus chuckled fondly. The little kid was always so amusing to look at. He always creates trouble, either by sneaking around or running around.
His lips unknowingly rose up in a small arc.
Sylas gazed at him. "You like him, don't you?" he whispered close to his ear.
The devil shuddered and pushed him away.
"Ow... that hurts bro," Sylas whined, holding his sore butt.
Rebus held his ears and gazed down at him.
"Don't give me that look. I can see love written all over your face. And you are doing nothing to hide it," Sylas whispered as he got up from the floor.
Rebus still gazed at him with a stunned look.
"Bro, let me give you an advice, man to man. Don't be scared to tell him your feeling, otherwise you might end up like me...." Sylas whispered. He longingly gazed at the pink haired warrior standing a little further.
Rebus held his head and slouched down. "But... but I love someone else. How is that possible?" he whispered.
Sylas patted him on his back. "Bro, are you having your legs in tow boats*? Beware not to sink," He said with a chuckled.
The devil gazed at him with a glare. "She died...... The one I love died," he said.
Sylas gazed at him silently.
"Then why are you hesitating? Remember Zhong, our life is short. Sometimes people we are close would die, but we have to move on and live our own lives." He shot up from the log. "And I don't think your departed would want that as well," he whispered and walked away.
Rebus gazed at him as he walked over to the pink-haired warrior. He had a subtle smile as he handed him a small kerchief.
"Move on, huh? It's very easy to say. But my heart still pounds for her." He whispered.
He gazed up at Vera and Altair moving down the horizon. His lover Nyx had always been his Vera. So near yet so far.
She was a god, and he was a devil. And yet she loved him, regardless. Her love is what brought him out of his dark world.
But telling himself to move on.... it seemed almost impossible.
He cupped his aching head and groaned. "Then what are my feelings for Eru." He whispered.
Suddenly a gentle breeze gushed over face carrying the intense aroma of daffodils. It was so intense that he could feel his soul quiver inside his mortal body.
"Nyx... she is here... she is back," he whispered and ran over in joy.
His feet led him towards the guest room. To a large double door near the inconspicuous corner. That's where it was coming from.
Taking a deep breath, he barged into the room. There was a visitor's room and there were two doors attacked to it.
A small book lay carelessly near the doorway. He picked it and flipped through it.
"It's... its Nxy's handwriting." He cried and hugged the book to his chest.
Nyx always had the habit of writing 'r' just like 'n'. Once she had written his name in cursive. "Rebus" she whispered, but the words looked like nebus. He had whispered back, "Where is the head for 'R'?" For this she replied, "It's there. Can't you see? It's Rebus,"
Rebus walked over to the door, which had the most beautiful scent in the world. He opened it with a bang.
