Lumina gazed down and ruffled up his hair. "We are not there yet,"
"What!!" Eru exclaimed. 'There is more to go!! Oh my god, I don't think my delicate stomach can handle any more flight.' He held his rolling stomach and grimaced.
Lumian on the other hand was quite cheery. He patted his shoulders and shouted, "Looks like you need a lot of training,"
Hearing this, Eru shuddered. Just the thought of training made his skin crawl. 'I escaped school gym and entered a boot camp.' He thought and wiped away the sweat.
Taking a look behind, Lumina strode ahead. "Come on, keep moving," he shouted.
"How? I can barely see anything!" Panting, Eru followed behind him. But soon he froze. The path in front of them was fully covered in smoke and fog. It was dark as well; it was as if someone threw him inside a very dark room. Noting was visible. This unknown factor scared the hell out of him. As a modern person eh ahs never faced any such situation.
"Use your senses, kid, open your ears, your nose and your skin." His uncle's voice echoed around.
Eru spread his arms and felt around. He was not able to catch his uncle, but his hands came in contact with rough bark. "Uncle... I don't think I Can do this..."
"You can! Follow my instruction now!"
He took a deep breath and held onto the tree. Suddenly he remembered the white glowing shield around him. 'Maybe if I Can use that it might illuminate my path.'
Eru sat down next to the tree and calmed down his breathing. His soul became light and airy and the refreshing forest air made his fell like he was floating.
"Good, just like that. Now 'see' without your eyes,"
"How?" he whispered. He knew how to create the white shield, but he did not know how to use this mysterious power to 'see'. "Uncle~" he whined. He really wanted someone to hold his hands and lead him through this dangerous-looking forest.
"Stop whining and concentrate,"
Eru nodded. 'How should I do this? If I concentrate this energy to my eyes would i be able to see,' he thought. The energy in his body was a free flowing fish. It was harder to bring it under control. 'Come on...get to my eyes,' he thought and scrunched up his eyes. Soon the warm energy in him moved like a small river through his veins and stopped near his eyes.
'Did it work?' his eyes were very warm, like someone was covering his eyes.
Eru slowly peeked out. The sight astonished him. The entire forest was clearly laid out in front of his eyes. The huge trees and even the small animals scurrying around, he was able to see.
"I can see... uncle I Can see!!" he cheered. His uncle was closer than he thought. He was squatting right next to him with a small smile on his face.
"Nicely done." He patted his shoulders and dragged him up. "Let's keep moving now,"
"Uncle Do you also see like this? Wow, this is a refreshing perspective," Eru whispered. The entire forest looked like he was wearing a 3D glass. The green looked super vibrant and he could see for miles ahead.
Lumian held him close. "No,"
"What? Then how are you able to walk about?" he exclaimed.
His uncle chuckled and sent off his huge mount. "I've been here for years now. I know these paths by heart."
"Oh," Eru whispered as he trotted behind him. They were walking in a small path that was skillfully created using small plants on each side.
"Don't step away from the path," his uncle warned.
He nodded and followed. But something was itching in his mind. "Uncle, Can I ask you something?"
"Yes,"
"Why do you live alone here? Isn't it scary being alone and not being able to see anything," he whispered.
His uncle suddenly stopped in front of him. He slowly turned back and gave him a sad smile. "i..I wanted to run away." After saying this, he walked away without a word.
Eru gazed at him with his eyes wide. 'What did he mean, run away? Did he want to get away from the crowd and stuff? Maybe I should ask for clarification.' He caught up to his long strides and held his hands. "Uncle... why?"
"Because it's the place my wife and child died," he softly whispered without looking back.
But from his hunched back, Eru knew that this event caused an emotional trauma on him. He did not ask anything further on how they passed away.
Silently, he followed behind his footsteps.
The pathway was getting narrower and narrower until it possible for only one person to walk.
Eru slowly stepped behind him carefully, but by mistake he stepped out of the path. His eyes went black again, but this time he was back on earth.
'What is going on?'
