At the Bar I

Yuliang swirled the amber liquid in his glass idly for a few moments, listening to the rambunctious chatter and laughter coming from the back table before knocking back his drink and enjoying the extremely sweet drink with its mild bitterness.

Amber delight, he was pretty sure it was called. He gestured for the bartender to pour him another one, feeling quite indulgent since he wasn't the one paying for it. It had been a while since he's had a good drink at a bar. Yuliang had to stop going to the bar back home after one too many encounters with Yukio's past hook-ups that tried to get it on with him.

"Thank you, brother," Yuliang said, accepting the glass with a small smile. The drink really was good.

"Shouldn't you join your friends?" the older man with entrancing purple eyes asked curiously as he went back to wiping down the counter.

Yuliang snorted, "Those pathetic lightweights aren't my friends. They're my brother's."

"I see. Where are you from, by the way? Your accent sounds familiar, but I can't quite pinpoint it."

Yuliang laughed, "I have an accent? Really? That's funny cuz I was here thinking that it was you guys that have an accent."

The man laughed, "I guess that's what it would seem like to you."

Yuliang took a sip of his drink, savoring the taste on his tongue.

"I'm from Sundan."

"Really? I wouldn't have guessed. You don't really look Sundanese." Then he took a closer look at Yuliang's face and amended, "Not completely, at least."

Yuliang shrugged, taking a second, longer sip of his drink. "Estish mother, Sundanese father," he said succinctly.

"Oh, that makes sense. We have a lot of Nordish-Estish people around these parts, but you're the first Sundanese-Estish person I've met."

Yuliang chuckled, "You're actually the second person that told me that, brother. Cheers." He downed the rest of the drink and sighed, "This is really good, you know. I don't think I've ever drunk anything quite like it."

The bartender grinned before approaching him again with a familiar bottle. "Happy to hear that. It's our bar's specialty. Would you like another?"

Yuliang nodded and held out his empty glass. "Not like it's my money I'm spending. I'll have another."
