Nightclub IV

Aryan casually strode over to stand beside Yuliang with an amused smile on his face. If he happened to step on the passed-out Felix Belmont's broken wrist, damaging it even further, it was purely an accident.

No one had come over to drag the body away yet. Probably because his companions had assumed the spoiled aristocrat had hooked up with someone and left already, but that worked in their favor.

Aryan, or more commonly known as Linden Sanchez, was not a fan of Felix Belmont. To put it lightly. The second-born son of the Belmont family was just the worst sort of human in existence and reminded Aryan far too much of his own siblings.

During his internship, Aryan had the most difficult time dealing with Belmont and his posse. The boy was only in his second year of Enforcer training yet acted as if he ruled the world. They also underestimated Aryan a great deal, treating him like he was air in class. Disrespecting and undermining his authority at every possible moment and the entire time. Everyone expected Aryan to bare his neck submissively and take it.

As if he was some omega bitch!

His teachers, his peers, his family. Everyone. Everyone looked down on him because everyone thought he had the beauty of an omega and apparently the biology of one too!

When he was younger, he had resented omegas for it, believing that it was due to their weakness that he was disadvantaged by society. He had resented the omegas because it was a lot easier to hate a defenseless minority group instead of the majority he had to deal with every day.

His views had, of course, changed. Especially after he started actually to meet and befriend omegas, still, it always took him by surprise to see someone just completely subvert the internal biases he was still unable to overcome completely.

Yuliang Davos was a name that he had heard since he was 16, and the entire region of Sundan was celebrating the licensing of 12-year-old Yuliang. Yuliang was not just any omega, though. Yuliang Davos was the firstborn of Jorah Davos and Honourable Healer Hala Davos.

Jorah Davos was the youngest Healer ever to get Certified at the age of 16 and a war hero, and Hala Davos was a legendary Healer.

After that brief moment in the public eye, Yuliang disappeared again. People were always hungry for news on the Davos family, so the lack of reporting on the young omega was not from a lack of trying. The Davos family was just notoriously private and difficult to track down.

So, it had come as a surprise to Aryan when the name Yuliang Davos started popping up at random before exploding in popularity in the last few months. Unsurprising considering the younger omega's ancestry and talented nature, but what was surprising had been how close the omega had been to him without him even realizing it.

Aryan was not much different from everyone else, though he was better at hiding it. He was also incredibly curious about the Healer, and knowing that he was practically within arms reach right now was terribly exciting.

Yuliang acknowledged his presence with a wary side glance but seeing that Aryan was someone familiar, he returned his attention to the dance floor.

The omega was beautiful in a cold, intimidating sort of way characterized by his aloof personality and almost constant frown on his face. However, Aryan still remembered the small smile directed his way when they had been introduced. One that had made his stomach flip for some strange reason. A response that was different from the uncomfortable, awkward way Yuliang had handled the rest of their group.

It was the first time in his life that Aryan felt special. Like he was... seen for who he was, instead of who people thought him to be.

"How long have you and Eric been friends?" Aryan asked, unable to resist the desire to draw Yuliang's attention back to himself again.

Eric was their mutual friend and the one who Yuliang's gaze was currently tracking almost obsessively, so he seemed like a safe conversation starter.

There was a long pause, so Aryan thought he was being ignored, but he was patient, so he waited. His patience was rewarded by Yuliang eventually answering him.

"Officially, I've known him for about five months, but there are times it feels like I've known him forever."

Aryan laughed, relieved, "Yes, Eric is very good at making people feel like that."
