Family Heirloom.

Maya decided that she will take care of the issue with Lucas's parents later on. Before that, she would also have to talk to Lucas about it.

Her phone was still buzzing because of everyone who was calling her now but Maya kept on ignoring them. "Even if I am not picking up their call, can they not just come to my office?... This clearly shows that they are not serious about this matter."

Anyways, Maya had made up her mind and was sure of her decision, why would a call from them to her, or a visit to her office help them change her final words?

...

It was almost afternoon, and lunch time was going on. Maya had also not eaten much in the morning and was starving now.

She decided to go down to the canteen to have some snacks.

As she entered the cafeteria, she felt those stares from people again. It was not as serious as in the morning but... Still, Maya was now just used to it. "Just think of them as the audiences from your shows in the past!!" She gave herself a pep talk as she kept on walking.

She went to the counter and ordered a roasted red- pepper sandwich for herself. Then she went to an empty place near the window and sat there. "Oh! I did not buy the drink, tsk. Forget it!"

As she was eating her sandwich, she surfed through her phone while looking at some of the celebrity interviews. "She has alamod shaped eyes, why is her eyeliner so thin towards the end!!? It could have been so much better that that! Let me search who is her make up artist!" Maya mumbled to herself, her voice was barely audible.

Suddenly a female employee came up to her with a fruit drink and kept it on her table.

*thap* Although it was a very light sound, it distracted Maya as she looked up to the girl with questioning eyes. Maya recognised her. It was the girl from yesterday, Amy.

"Yes?" She didn't know why would Amy find her today. Was it regarding yesterday's incident?

"CEO Maya, it is not easy for everyone! I really admire you. Here, I heard that you like mixed- fruit juice, so I brought it for you. Hope you enjoy it!" Amy ran away after saying that, she felt too shy to look at Maya.

"Huh?" Maya still was confused. Suddenly, she thought that maybe it was related to the forum, but then why would Amy admire her for that?

Maya opend the forum. Alot of things had been updated since the last time she visited it. A number of new discussions had started which were not based on her unfaithfulness but on the photos that had been posted by AnnaSupremeGossip.

She also noticed that the article posted by the same person had been taken down as well, but the photos were now being used in other topics, after all, one could not stop everyone from downloading them. "It seems Ashely has done her work." Maya thought as she went through the other posts.

"Let's check out this one... it has got a lot of likes." Maya opened that post. It was the article claiming that she and Aiden, who was a girl, were in a relationship.

"Ooooh!" Maya raised her eyebrows in surprise as she clicked on the 'forward' option and forwarded the article to Aiden. After sending that article to him, she added a string of laughing emojis in the end, and waited for his response.

Few moments had passed but she did not get any response from him. She kept on checking her phone. Maya felt weird, just now, was she waiting on someone!!?

She, the great Maya, who made others wait for her, was waiting for someone to reply to her text! "What a joke!!" Maya gulped down the mixed- fruit drink that Amy had brought for her as she got up. "Why should I wait on him? I have a lot of important stuff to do, don't I?"

.....

Meanwhile in David Parker's Study (Maya's father)....

"But what was the need for you to tell Mrs. Jen as to what item you wanted to give for Charity!? Tell me, huh?" Mr. Parker was very angry at Mrs. Parker right now.

"Samartha! You know that it is a very important heirloom for our family, don't you?"

"Dear-" Samartha had just started, but was cut off in between as David continued. "I think that you knew it very well, the 9-carat solitaire, pear-shaped diamond, it has been passed on since generations in our family, how could you? It was supposed to be passed on to Maya or maybe Sofia, whoever got married first. Who gave you the right to announce it to the world that you will be auctioning such a precious item!?"

"I-I" Samartha did not know how to explain herself to him.

"What's the point of even trying to explain now?! I wouldn't even have known of what you were going to do behind my back if the auctioneer had not called me to thank for donating such a valuable item."

Mr. Parker was utterly shocked when he got the call, but still, to maintain his pride, he did not deny anything and accepted the praise from the auctioneer. It would have been very shameful if he had not done so.

He just did not want to see Samartha's face right now. He turned away and looked into his books as be rambled on, "It was passed to my mother by my grandmother, then after my mother it-, anyways, since it was our family tradition, it had to be passed on to my daughters!"

Samartha, who accidentally heard David's rambling, suddenly shouted, "See! Even you can not deny the fact that after your mother, it should have belonged to your wife! and that person is ME! You understand? I should have been the owner of that ring. But you never gave it to me... you always wanted to give that ring to 'her', right!?" After finally getting a chance to let her thoughts out, Samartha kept on shouting, "You were that first one to break the tradition! Your mother just never accepted the fact that the ring could not belong to her anymore and refrained herself from giving it to me! The ring is no more the heirloom of this family, and as the Madam of this family, I think I have the right to do such things on my own!"

*BANG*

Mr. Parker could not hold it in any more. He banged the table loudly as he stood up.
