Even if it's urgent, Good night!

A few hours back....

Aiden declined the call to him by Ella and instead, he immediately called Liam.

Liam picked up his phone and said with a lazy voice, "What...? Call me later, I am sleeping right now. Call me only if it is urgent."

He was about to end the call when he heard Aiden's voice, "It is urgent Liam."

Liam was half awake now, but still, since Aiden did not sound that angry, he just said lightly, "Well even if it is urgent, I will call you back later! Good night!"

"Do not test my patience!" Aiden knew that it was not a reasonable thing for him to get so angry at Liam, but still he did not like it that he did not know about Ella coming back in advance.

"Ugh! What is it?" Liam finally got up and got serious.

"I heard that Ella is back."

"Oh so it's about this..." Liam felt a bit guilty as he continued, "Yeah, but wait, who told you? Was it your brother? Are you back in town? Let's meet up! Where are you? I'll pick you up." A string of questions came from him as he was now awake entirely.

"I am at a restaurant which is near your family's hospital. Um.. let me check it's name."

"What are you doing at the hospital?!" Liam was worried if something was wrong with Aiden.

"Long story. Will tell you later. Come to pick me up, I came here with Ethan so I did not bring my car." Aiden then gave Liam the name of the restaurant as they ended the call.

...

It was already evening and time to get of work. As Maya walked to her car, she called her father's firm. She wanted to tell him about her plans of visiting the Capital city this Friday.

"Hello?!" An unpleasant voice came from the receivers' end. Maya was a bit shocked because she had called her father's office, but it was her mother picking up the phone.

It was a rare sight as her mother never tried to interfere with anything related to David, her father. She was only interested in living the life of of an upper- class women and was never bothered about his work related maters.

"Hey Mom. Is father there in the office?" She asked with extreme politeness. Maya did not want to start another fight with her mother. She was already kind enough for not saying anything to her for what she had done previously.

"He had gone out for some work, even I am waiting for him."

"Oh... and by the way, can I ask you about the Charity event that you were talking about the other day? I wanted to kno-"

"Now do you also want to lecture me about it!? Huh?" Samartha was still angry that everyone had a problem with it.

"No mom I-" Maya hurriedly tried to explain herself but, "Yes so what? So what if I gave that precious ring for auction, can I not have any right for myself? Now, do I need to take permission from you as well? Tell me-"

All of a sudden the phone was snatched from Samartha. She looked at the person with anger but got shocked after seeing that it was her husband.

"Hello?" Mr. Parker said after calming himself.

"Um, hello father." Maya felt a bit better hearing his voice after the booming chatter of her mother. "So I called you to inform you that I will be heading to the Capital this coming Friday to manage some things with his parents."

Maya did not have to take Lucas's name for her father to understand whom she was talking about.

"Oh? I remember, Ren had told me that you were doing a lot for that guy's family? How do you plan to handle it?"

After getting to know that Lucas had betrayed Maya, Mr. Parker immediately asked Ren to look into what all things his precious daughter had done for Lucas or his family. He was quite astonished when he saw that his daughter was almost providing with everything for his family. He felt proud that Maya had become so capable that she could so, so much on her own, but felt utterly mad as well, because all of her efforts went in vain.

"About that, father.... When Mr. Martin was diagnosed with a heart disease, I had promised it to him that I will look after him and make sure that he would be provided with the best facilities. So I think..."

Maya was not exactly sure if she should do this or not, but she still said it out, "I think that I can continue for some time but I'll give them a heads up now so that they can plan it accordingly. I had estimated the cost of his medical fees, it was quite a lot but I think I can afford that much... So, I don't know as of now, will see it later on." She shrugged.

"Mhmm... do whatever you think is the best." Mr. Parker had this much confidence in his daughter.

"Oh and what do you think about going to the Capital city together? Your mother and I are also heading there in a few days for an event. We can go together if you don't find it uncomfortable." As the sentence was ending, Mr. Parker also sounded a bit uncertain.

He thought to himself, "Aren't things already so awkward between us! Why did I have to suggest this!?"

Unexpectedly, Maya agreed with him, "Okay Father. Send me your flight details or if you have not booked them, I can book them for all of us."

Maya put her phone on speaker as she started her car.

Samartha, who was trying to eavesdrop on the conversation of the father- daughter pair heard this was about to say that they had already booked the tickets.

But before that she heard Mr. Parker saying, "Yes sure. You should also ask Sofia if she wants to go there as well, it has been long time since all of us have visited the Capital together."

How could he not say this? It was not everyday that he got a chance to communicate with his daughters so freely.

Suddenly he heard a light honking, "Are you driving Maya?" Mr. Parker asked worriedly. "I will be ending the call then."

Maya smiled at this, "Okay good bye. I will call you later regarding the flight details."
