He was already engaged?

Maya, who had been waiting with her eyes closed for a kiss to land on her lips, was startled when she felt Aiden kiss her cheeks.

"Huh?" She opened her eyes immediately, "That's it?" 

Aiden laughed at her surprised expression, "What, you want more or what?" 

"No… I just expected that you will-"

"You are the girl I like Maya. No matter what happens, I do not think that I can, or ever will force you to do anything."

Saying that, he looked inside the room, "Are you not going to call me in?"

Stunned Maya had not realized anything yet, she only woke up from her stupor when Aiden was already sitting on the couch of her room.

"This is my room, what are you sitting here for? And you have already taken your compensation. Get out! Don't you have your own room?" She shouted at him.

Aiden ignored her scolding and said, "How are you going to deal with Martha Collins and Jonathan Collins?" 

Imaginary black lines appeared on Maya's forehead, who was the one who was saying that he would not go against her just a second ago?

But still, she felt happy when she got to know that there was someone who cared about her issues. "I will think of a way to deal with it after i talk with my father and Ashely."

"Right, you still have Mr. Parker. How could I forget that. Even if your mother is... You still have your father." There was some sadness visible in his voice and eyes. 

"What about your father?"  Maya suddenly asked him out of the blue.

"Well, do you want to meet him?" Aiden looked at her with hopeful eyes.

"Huh?!" Maya was stunned at his suggestion, but still accepted his offer when she thought of the sad eyes from earlier, "I suppose I can meet him before I leave. Due to some issues I will be leaving in two days." 

"You will!?" He had not expected her to accept so soon. 

"Why not?" Maya shrugged, she didn't feel anything was wrong with meeting an elderly person.

 Then Maya looked at him and asked, "By the way, how did you know about it?" 

"About what..?" Aiden didn't get her question.

"About the matter with Mr. Collins and Martha."

"Oh, actually I didn't mean to eavesdrop but I accidentally heard your conversation with your assistant during that time."

"Oh…" Maya absentmindedly nodded. 

"....."

"....."

An awkward silence took over the room.

"Umm-" "Amm-" Both Aiden and Maya started respectively but stopped when they noticed that the other one was about to speak.

"You first!" Maya said immediately after that. 

"Okay… So I know that you might not need my help, after all you can ask for it from your father, but if you do, I can really help you, you know, my family is-" 

"Maya!" Suddenly Sofia rushed into the room. 

Earlier Maya had not locked her door because she had intended to push Aiden out of her room. Since she was unsuccessful in it, the door was open right now. 

"Oh brother- in- law! You are here!? It seems that I really can't sleep here. Ugh! I lost the bet!" Sofia grumbled as she turned over to leave, "You guys may be excited, but at least lock your door! Good night!"

*Thad!*

She shut the door and left.

"I guess you should leave now…" Maya opened the door again and showed Aiden his way out. She didn't want to create more misunderstandings.

"Ye-yeah… I will pick you up tomorrow morning? Is it fine if you meet my father tomorrow itself?" Aiden got up to leave.

"Okay, see you tomorrow. Good night!" 

*Thad!*

Maya also shut the door on his face.

Was she possessed just now!? Why would she meet his parents!?! What was going on in her mind when she agreed to it?

Meanwhile Aiden, who got the door slammed on his face even without getting a proper goodbye, only stood there with a smile and said, "Good night, sweet dreams-" As he turned around to leave for his room, he continued his sentence, "-as you dream of me!"

Next morning Maya woke up even before it was half past eight. Although she knew that it wasn't an official meeting with the in-laws or anything but still, she was very flustered at the moment. Even if she and Aiden were not in a relationship, this was still considered an important meeting. 

The first impression is the last impression!

"Should I wear this?" Maya looked at herself in the mirror as she held a few clothes in front of her and decided what she should wear. 

"No, This is a bit… a bit too much?"

"This ones revealing a lot! But I'll be wearing a coat on top of it..."

"This one is nice, I guess I will go with it." Maya chose a pair of black wide- leg sailor pants with a black and white colored silk blouse. 

Even though she had woken up early for all this, it still took her lot of time to get ready as Aiden had already arrived to pick her up.

"You ready?" As soon as Maya opened the door, Aiden asked her. 

"Yup, just let me take my coat and we are good to go!" As Maya put the coat over her shoulders, a mesmerized person said, "It looks like you are making a comeback on the runway! You look beautiful…"

"Pft! Thanks!" Maya laughed casually, "Let's go, we'll be late!"

As they sat in the car, Maya asked him, "But where are we heading to?" They were already on their way there but she didn't even know the place she was going to.

"To the hospital." Aiden replied as he started the engine of the car.

"The hospital...?" Maya hadn't expected this answer.

"Then shouldn't we take something with us, no wait, I should be the one to do it! Oh god, but I have not prepared anything!" Maya said worriedly.

Aiden felt warm to know that she was taking this seriously as he comforted her, "There is absolutely no need for it, trust me. Maybe when you come the next time you can arrange for it."

"Yeah…" Maya agreed.

Maya's heels sounded out her confident steps as she walked with Aiden. "It was the same hospital…" She thought. 

"This is the room." Aiden said as he opened the door.

As they were about to enter the room, she heard a woman's voice, "Let's wait for Aiden, uncle. After all now, we have already been engaged, marriage can come when he agrees to it!"
