Alibi?

"I'm sorry Myra, I can't give them an alibi. I have to think of our baby." I explain sadly, ignoring her disappointed look at me. I swallow the lump in my throat and leave the living room, stepping out into the corridor.

"Miss Wentworth?" One of the officers stop me, placing out a hand in front of me. I frown and look up at the male officer.

"Yes?" I ask, holding my head high. As far as I'm concerned, Jake and Tobias are innocent until proven guilty.

"We need you to come down to the police station with us to make a statement." He says firmly, his tone serious. I don't respond but nod my head slowly —

"Can't we do it here?" I ask, knowing I wouldn't be able to meet Jake at the library if I'm making a statement. From previous incidents, I know statement writing can take hours at the police station.

"It's best if you come with us to the station." The officer smiles tightly.
