"Why are you not joining us for dinner?" Dan asked when he noticed Bella was headed for her bedroom after serving dinner.

"Why? You think I poisoned the..." Bella stopped and bit her lips when she remembered that they weren't alone, "I meant to say I need to have my bath, sir," She added with a stiff smile when she noticed the way Kathleen was looking at her with a frown of disapproval.

Dan, on the other hand, chuckled when he saw the switch, "I told you he isn't as polite as he pretends to be around you, right?" Dan asked both Richie and Kathleen, who were watching Bella suspiciously.

"Is that any way to talk to your employer?" Kathleen asked Bella angrily. 

"I'm sorry, sir," Bella said to Dan, who was still chuckling, before excusing herself. 

"How can you find that amusing? You should fire him immediately," Kathleen said with a frown. 

"Fire him? Why?" Dan asked with a raised brow.
