The moment Dan arrived at the breakfast table the next morning and noticed that Bella was still not present, he looked at the Queen after exchanging pleasantries with everyone on the table.
"I suppose she is still not inclined to see me," Dan said, and the Queen looked at him helplessly, but before she could come up with the usual excuse, Dan spoke again.
"You don't have to make any more excuses on her behalf, your Majesty. Can I see her just once?" Dan asked, and then Ben looked at him as though he was not making sense.
How could he ask her that when it was obvious she was avoiding him and didn't even want to talk to him? Couldn't he see that it wasn't within their power?
"I'm sorry, Prince Dan, but even I can't see her. She locked herself up in her bedroom and has refused to step out of it," The King said, choosing to take the direct approach this time.
