Chapter 14- Hundred thousand times

Mylo went inside the 'The Sweet Court' inn, looked around unable to find Efferus . As to find his whereabouts he inquired of Efferus location by asking the inn keeper who was behind the bar table.

"Efferus? He went to the Adventurers training ground. He should be there training new soldiers and adventures on their basics'."

"where could I find the training ground?"

"Its four blocks from here on your left."

"Thank you."

Mylo left the inn and headed toward the Adventurers training ground.

Cast next to the Inn, the Adventurer's training ground of Valsea is home to the kingdoms trainee soldiers lead by class instructors, Efferus being one of them. He had the responsibility to train soldiers and players that choose the archer's path. the premise is of great importance to the kingdom military strength.

The property itself didn't look stunning. It was as big as a soccer field but sand and stone was what covered the field rather then greenery. Around the premise were numerous wooden dummies placed 5 meters apart all around the court. Npc's where swinging their weapons at the dummies while the players didn't bother doing the same, and only spoke with the instructors to provide them with they're class quest in order to acquire their first class skill.

What truly fascinated Mylo was the Adventurer's Building. From the outside it looked high-class and extravagant. It has been built with bricks and has grey stone decorations. The size and length was similar to that of modern elementary schools. Short, wide windows brighten up the building interior. Two small chimneys poked out from the right and left corner of the roof.

Inside the building was one long and dark rug running down from the main entrance to the reception desk. While walking inside the building the first thing he notices is the giant carved sculpture of a man holding a fashionable stick in his hand while standing strong in his feet. Below the sculpted individual was a writing unscripted to it, 'King Xavier Valsea III'.

Mylo didn't know if this was the current king or the past king but he could tell how humble and virtuous looking he was. He slowly walked past the sculpture and stopped at the receptionist desk.

"Hello."

"Hello, my name is Lili. How may I help you today? Are you looking to accept requests? If so please go to the request board in the right corner. If you are looking to join a guild please provide your information in this form and the name of the guild you which to join."

"No, I'm not here for any of those reasons."

"Then how can I be of assistance?"

"I'm here to see Efferus, I've been told that he was currently training some soldiers but I haven't seen him in the court."

"Efferus is currently busy with-"

"Lili, its fine. Il deal with it."

"Oh, seems like you finished your business Mr. Efferus."

"Yes. Thank you for assisting this young lad."

"My pleasure, have a good day."

"Come here lad."

"…"

"Did you manage to find anything? If I'm not mistaken, it hasn't even been a full day since I gave you the request."

"I actually did find something, something that I couldn't personally deal with."

"Oh, and what might that be?"

"The Unknown beast that you spoke off is some type of chimera."

"Chimera!? What makes you think that?"

Mylo couldn't say that he saw his name thanks to the system. Since the Npc's were programmed to not understand anything that could divulge them being game characters.

"The creature had many different animal characteristics; he had the head of a gorilla allowing him to shout a type of war cry that applied a fear debuff to its prey. He had horns, presumably does of a deer; he uses them to impale his prey. He has the body size and strength of a bear and has some type of turtle shells protecting its back and torso. The scariest thing is his tail. The tail was similar to that of a skunk allowing him to spray a certain liquid of intense smell. That smell allowed it to mark its prey and track it down in case it successfully escapes its grasp."

"…"

"…"

"Efferus?"

"Ah! Sorry I was just thinking about what you told me. That is indeed a chimera , thankfully from the characteristic you provided it seems to be a lesser version."

"Why would u say that?"

"Usually a completed chimera would have a body part that belonged to creature with magical properties like demons, magical beasts, elves, beastman, dwarves and even humans body parts, not normal animal parts."

"I see…"

"You did a great job Cosmo. For completing such dangerous task in such a short amount of time I will provide you with a little bonus."

"Really?"

"Yes, here's your reward plus the leather armor I promised you. I hope it's to your liking."

"Thank you Efferus."

"I should be the one to thank you. its a shame you aren't strong enough to deal with it. I'll have to make a personal appeal in the request board. Hopefully some of you cursed one could group up and face it."

"I'm sorry for my lack of strength…"

"Do not put yourself so low, you're the best cursed one I have met so far. Maybe even..."

"What is it?"

"How about this, so far I've requested all the cursed ones that came to see me for guidance a specific task that they all refused. How about you prove to me how regretful you are for your lack of strength?"

"What's the task?"

"Go to the training ground outside the building and hit the dummies hundred thousand times without a break. If you manage to do it, your basics will significantly increase. And since I have a favorable opinion of you I will give you a reward if you manage to complete it. How about it? Up to the challenge? But keep in mind that if you take a single break, it will be considered a failed attempt with no chance of second try."

------------------------------------

Quest: Basic attack proficiency.

Rank: E

Requirement

*Hit the dummies with only basic attacks . 0/ 100,000

*Quest will fail the moment you stop attacking.

Reward: Passive skill 'Basic attack proficiency', +15% affinity with Efferus, ???

Failure: -10% affinities with Efferus.

Time Limit: None

[Would you like to accept the quest? (YES/NO) ]

----------------------------------------

Mylo thought to himself: "no wonder no one took the task, it's extremely time consuming. And the reward isn't even interesting. Basic attack proficiency? Forget about mages, clerics or tanks, it's completely useless for them. What about the warrior, rogue and archers? They wouldn't care either; they would prefer having active skills than a basic attack passive skill."

Mylo stayed silent for a few seconds before answering Efferus.

"I accept."

'Might as well increase my affinity with such unique npc'; mylo thought.

"Great. You can start whenever you want, I'll be sure to watch you without bothering you with your task."

"…Okay."

Mylo walked out of the building and sat next to a dummy.

"Before I start, let's take a look at my rewards."
