Chapter 32- Elemental Resistances and Subclasses

-----------------------------------

A Mother's Blessing Lvl.Max (Passive)(Rank B)

*Increases Darkness Resistance by 10%.

------------------------------------------

[Resistances are defensive mechanisms used to mitigate incoming damage based on the elemental resistance percentage owned. There exist six different elemental resistances: Fire, Cold, Lightning, Arcane, Darkness, Holy.

The Fire, Cold and Lightning resistances are moderately easy to gain while the Arcane, Darkness and Holy resistances being the hardest to fill. There exist many abilities that combine the usage of two or more elements. For example, Holy Flames, wish is a unique ability that uses the fire and holy elements.]

"Six is quite a lot. I should invest in resistance equipment's later down the road."

"The quest was indeed worth doing, the system categorized the 'Darkness Element' as being one of the hardest resistances to acquire. I couldn't ask for a better elemental resistance, I can also upgrade it for higher values."

"Open the map interface"

In Second Chronicle's there exists three regions such as the human, Beast man and Demon settlements. The map system displays the human settlement in the North, the beast man's region in the west and the Demon's region in the East. Right in the middle of the map, is a massive blurred out interface, written 'Unknown'. Indicating that the area outside of the inhibited territories were unexplored, marking the debut of the game's chronicle.

The reason being that more than 90 percent of the world of second chronicle's has never been explored by it's occupants. Although there is much to learn about the disclosed part of the world, it is said that amazing discoveries, untapped by human greed, can be found beyond the known. Player's would compare this part of the game as being the ocean of earth. It is well known that a vast majority of the earth ocean has yet to be mapped and explored, which leaves a lot of speculation about what can be found within this obscurity.

"I should explore the 'Unknown' area, the real adventure starts over there. While travelling to the other side, I will steadily level up until I reach my 25th level, allowing me to participate in the upcoming event."

Mylo did not wish to traverse the forest as it would be a hassle to deal with the curse of the guardian. He decided to make use of the teleportation array within the Kingdom to relocate himself to the nearest settlement, as such he inquired about it with the receptionist handling the travelling expenses.

"The closest settlement is 'Valgar Village', it is recommended for new adventurers to visit the village at least once in order to acquire a subclass."

"Oh, and what subclasses can we learn there?"

"There exists numerous sub-classes such as the more common and popular one being: The blacksmith, the jeweler, the alchemist, the artisan, the hunter, the beast tamer, the scholar, the soldier, the merchant, the historian, etc."

"I can pretty much guess what uses those classes provide, but what exactly could one earn from choosing the historian subclass?"

"A historian studies past events by salvaging prehistoric cultural monuments and scripts. You could consider them as treasure hunters, making them extremely exploratory individuals that specialize in finding ancient relics or deciphering ancient languages."

"Interesting. And were exactly can you find the instructor for this sub-class?"

"His name is Rowan Asselin, he is a well-known historian within Valsea. He has helped the kingdom with numerous ventures within the 'Unknown' territory. You can find him inside the Adventurers building. All the instructors are located there, if you meet the requirement, they will gladly teach you the basics."

"Thank you, and how much would it cost to travel there?"

"1 gold coins."

"Here you go."

"Thank you; please stand on top of the array."

"…"

"Safe travel then."

*Whoosh*

-Valgar Village-

Many players could be seen walking around the village, entering and exiting an enormous building as they pleased. The building was around twenty meters tall and fifteen meters long. It was made of wood, surely from cleaved trees surrounding the village. The settlement itself did not look as imposing compared to the Kingdom but did not lack any charm of it own, with its ash wood rooftops and walls. The adventurers building being the main interest within the village.

"Before I head out and grind some levels, I should obtain my subclass. It would be a waste not to make use of the benefits a secondary occupation can provide. In order to do so, I would need to first find Rowin Asselin. His occupation seemed the most appealing to me. From my perspective, 'the Lost Kingdom of EinHeart' wasn't in the map interface most likely because it was within the 'Unknown' area of the world. Since I was the first discoverer and being the only one owning a 'relic' related to it, I might be able to find something interesting if I choose the Historian subclass. "

"It's all speculations, but I'm willing to do a leap of faith."
