Chapter 42- Balthazar?

After adjusting his eyesight from the dark, mylo started heading deeper inside the cave. Paying close attention to the ceiling, expecting a bat to attack at any moment. After a few minutes, he could see a figure laying down in the distance. It was too dark to properly see what or who it was. The closer he got, the better the figure could be seen.

"… What an unlucky fellow."

The hobgoblin was laying down, shredded off its meat, a large winged beast the size of a dog eating away with it small mouth , each bite tearing away at the hobgoblin thought skin.

-------------------------------------

Name: Balthazar's Minion

HP: 2500/2500

Level: 28

Description: Summoned minions of the Great Balthazar. The minion has a similar constitution to that of normal bats but multiplied by three. It has the ability to see in the dark perfectly and fly at high speed. His bite is able to suck out the life energy of its prey and transfer it as his own, allowing him to cover his biggest weakness, his lack of vitality. Having been blessed by Balthazar's magic power, his minions are able to 'Silence' its prey from using any active abilities.

(Silence: Seals the usage of active skills)

---------------------------------------

"Balthazar?"

The large bat noticed the presence of an unwelcome guest. Taking one final bite out of its meal, blue particles released from its location until only Mylo and the bat were left within the vicinity of the area.

Rather than attacking him right away, the bat flew away into the ceiling of the cave. Mylo understood why it chose to do so. The ceiling was high and dark. It was impossible for Mylo to see where the bat was going to engage from.

"I should have brough a torch."

Unsheathing his rapier and changing his stance to a defensive one, mylo was waiting patiently for the bat to make its move. The silence inside the cave allowed him to hear the smallest of sounds; he could easily pick up the flapping wings of the bat which allowed him to determine its location without much trouble.

*Flap*

*Flap*

*Fla-*

"NOW!"

Mylo turned around, aiming at the location he last heard the sound. The instant he noticed the giant bat, he slashed away at it's right wing.

[You Have applied 'Thorn' effect to 'Balthazar's Minion'; you have maimed its right wing.]

[You Have Dealt 604 damage.]

The flying bat fell head first into the ground, flattening its face as it drags itself through the solid surface of the cave with its fallen momentum. As it stopped dragging to the floor, the minion started flapping its wing in order to fly back up but was enable to do so since his right wing was maimed.

*SCREECH*

Cries of anger came out of its mouth, looking directly at the human walking towards him. Having lost it aerial advantage, Mylo knew it wasn't much of an opponent. Its frail-looking legs couldn't possibly allow him to make any quick movements or attacks.

[You Have Dealt 645 damage.]

[You Have Dealt 675 damage.]

[You Have Dealt 752 damage.]

[You have Killed 'Balthazar's Minion']

[You Have Gained 13,230 EXP (( 2100 x 2.1 + 50%) x 2)]

The bat couldn't do much without being airborne and was disposed of shortly after losing it's asset.

"13K Experience! That like 11 or 12 green goblins in a single mob."

"Ha…Haha...HAHAHAHA! Level 25 here I come!"

One hour later

[Congratulations! You have reached level 18.]

Two hours later

[Congratulations! You have reached level 19.]

Four hours later

[Congratulations! You have reached level 20.]

"Oof, four hours of non-stop grinding is quite tiring. But it was well worth the effort, I made it to level 20 in such short time. I'm so close to 25. But more importantly, this…"

In front of Mylo was a unique-looking door with strange and unknown patterns inscribed to it. The door was around 10 meters wide; it was made of unknown minerals of purple color. Its design was none that he ever saw, its complex style conveys the power and wisdom of the one whom visioned this piece of art. Every element was crafted and fashioned with care on every single level, ensuring this door to never fall down and to show whomever sees it that whatever is behind it shouldn't be trifled with.

[Deciphering….]

[Basic language interpretation proficiency too low to decipher. ]

"Not surprising… That Balthazar must be a unique character within the game. I wonder if his inside."

Mylo tried pushing the door open but to no avail.

[Locked! Key Required!]

"Key? Where's the key hole then?"

"Huh? What is that?"

At the Far-left corner of the door was a gap the size of a tennis ball, Mylo examined it carefully and judged it being to key hole.

"One of those bats must have the 'key' with them, right? I just need to fetch it and place it there. How hard can that be?"

"Let's focus on leveling up and hopefully get that key dropped as I hunt those bats."
