Part Five: Invited

"Hey, what are you guys doing here", asks Omar running across the field towards me and Ashlyn.

"We need a ride, to Danny's house", says Ashlyn batting her lashes. "Please", she whines. "I have practice, but when I finish I can give you a ride", he says before running back to his teammates. A few minutes after sitting down, a soccer ball came hurling towards Ashlyn. Luckily for Ashlyn, years of practice with my dad and Baby, made me able to react fast enough and head butt the ball back to the group of boys.

"Ever thought about joining the soccer team", asks coach De Los Santos. "No, I can't anyways, I'm in singing class after school", I reply sitting down. "We need someone like you on our team", says Andrew jogging up to me. "Then we might actually win something", says coach laughing. I don't know how that's funny, it's just sad.

"Can you try a plenty shot", asks coach. "I can try", I say shrugging my shoulders. As I step on the field all eyes are on me, wondering what I'll do next.

"Ready when you are", I shout at the boys, who are just standing there. As I pretend to kick the ball, the goalie falls to the left leaving me a perfect chance to make it into the right side of the net.

As the ball swooshes into the net, there's a moment of silence before I hear applauding. I turn around to see Marcus standing there in the middle of the field. I take a small bow and head back to the bleachers.

"That was great shot Daniel..... except for one thing", says Marcus leaning against the bleachers. "And what's that", I say grabbing my backpack. "Next time try to hit it with the front of your foot not the side", he says, walking away. "I'll be sure to remember", I shout.

"You ready to go", asks Omar handing me his backpack, so he could put on a new shirt, since the one he was currently wearing was soaked in sweat.

"Yeah", I say grabbing his backpack. Once we arrived at my house it was sundown, which meant I could see the sun come down from my rooms window.

"Mom, I'm home", I say walking to her room. "I thought you said there wasn't singing classes after school today", she says from her rooms private restroom. "There wasn't, but me and Ashlyn need a ride, so we waited for Omar to finish soccer practice", I say sitting down on her bed. "Woah, where are you going", I ask looking at my mom dressed in a long flowy dress. "You mean, where are WE going", she says correcting me. "Sorry, where are WE going", I ask.

"We we're invited to Ross's house warming party", she says. "So they did move", I say to no one in particular. "Yeah they did", she says putting on some earings.

"Sorry to barge in on your conversation, but did I hear party", Ashlyn says hugging my mom. She whispers something in my mom's ear, which makes her smile and nod.

"Let's leave your mom to finish getting ready", she says leading me to my room. "Let's see what you can wear to impress", she says looking through my closest. "I don't want to impress anyone", I say. "She turns to me and says, "Yeah like I couldn't see the way Marcus basically drooled for you and how he wanted to defend you back at lunch".

"No he didn't", I say denying her accusations. "Sure", she says turning back around. After a few minutes of trial and error Ashlyn became frustrated and took out a dress I had already rejected. "Here put it on", she said throwing at me.

"I'm not putting that "horny mean" attractor", I said looking at the extremely short and tight dress in my hands. "It's either wear that or go in your birthday suit", she says putting her hands on her small waist. "Fine", I groan, knowing she wasn't going to change her mind.

She smiled and said, "Oh, and these too". I looked at the hideously high heels that she put at the foot of my bed and shook my head.

I laugh and say, "Your crazy, I can't even walk normally in tennis shoes and you expect me to walk with 6 inch heels". She sighs and tosses me a pair of flats, "Fine", she says knowing how stubborn I am.

After changing into the extremely tight dress and flats, I walked into the kitchen hoping to find a snack. "No", Ashlyn says tossing, the goldfish I was about to eat, on the floor. I swear I heard a cry for help, from the goldfish as it fell on the floor.

"WhAt, I'm hungry", I say attempting to squat down to grab the goldfish. As I'm about to grab the goldfish Ashlyn crumples it under her shoe. "Nooooo-", I hear a few moments before Ashlyn crumples the goldfish.

"You ready to go.....woah you look different Danny", says Luis staring at me. "How do I look", I ask twirling around. "Retarded", he says laughing. "You little son of a bit-", I scream, throwing my shoe at him. "We have the same mom", he says laughing even more.

"Okay let's go", my mom says grabbing the keys off the kitchen counter. "Damn Danny, who would of thought you'd have curves under all those baggy clothes", says Omar, coming out of the kitchen.

"Shut up", I shout throwing my shoe at him. Unluckily for me I forgot Omar is the captain of the football team, so he caught it with ease.
