Feared Visit

3 weeks passed by, the plan of eradicating the whole YanlinZhen sect had been moving in a steady and silent pace. No one other than the lLingweiPing sect knows about this plan. Sect leader Zhen had written on his reply letter that he will visit their city along with some of his men.

Sect leader Zhen had always watched over closely on the sole survivor of the Ling massacre which was Lianming. Ever since news broke out of the whole eradication on the Ling's he found it disturbing that their only child who was the heir to the throne would kill his whole family to usurp it, it didn't make sense at all. Also at how only two people survived on that night, Lianming and the servant Ping.

Back then Sect leader Zhen was busy on following his cultivation path and there were also times where he needs to travel to the capital of LansungWang to attend sectoral meetings and talk about problems and progress of each sect. However, his curiosity reached the peak when Mr. Ping was suddenly the one who attends these meetings. In his mind and some of the sect leaders as well, they were expecting the young Lianming to be there even though he was still young back then.

He strongly believed that something was wrong, something was off, however, he couldn't do much since his whole sect is smaller than that of Mr. Ping. Even if he wanted to k ow the truth he needed to proceed with caution. Thus he started to watch silently on the shadows, the Ling's never spoke of their secrets in public and neither in front of Lianming. There were no concrete evidence of who murdered the family as well, all there is, is the rumors of Lianming going berserk and ended up killing everyone while Mr. Ping luckily escaped the bloodshed since he was a slave and he slept at the shack.

Sect Leader Zhen and Sect Leader Ling knew each other almost like brothers, they cultivated together, followed the path of the sword and even trained together through some spars and night hunts. He knew that Ling would never treat a person like a pig, he k ew that even though Ping was a slave, he was treated like family and never slept in an old abandoned shack as the story told. But then again, he doesn't have my proof, the words spread like wildfire a d what seemed to be just a rumor before became the truth for the people's mind.

When he finally decided to visit, he was shocked at Lianming's condition, he wasn't the boy he saw years ago that smiled and played tricks with him calling him old man when he was still 6 years old. He was full of scars, bruises, wounds, and dirt. He couldn't help but pity him and his ill fate, but at the same time, when the Ping suddenly started to retort back and tell him his Co diction with a tone of nervousness, he felt something was strange with it. He never asked for details but they told him and even tried to persuade him to not think or look at Lianming. He decided that he needed to get a closer look to the boy thus he ordered him to serve him tea, however, Lianming never spoke up, even after they went outside the residence. He was completely silent, and the only help Sect leader Zhen could give him was the spell.

It wasn't that of a demonic cultivation spell, in fact it was a spell that when the person given to reads it out loud a signal will secretly be sent on the one who gave it indicating that there is danger to the one who was given the spell. The spell's name is Foresight, with it he will k ow if something really is going on behind the crowds eyes and at the same time rescue the only Ling left.

However, when the news of Lianming's eerie death came to him, he couldn't believe it. He gave Lianming a spell and he clearly nodded after hearing his instruction. His eyes even showed the eagerness to use it that night so he was prepared to go back to the city at any time, silently watching the other paper that was connected to the spell. But it never ignited, which means Lianming never read it out loud.

Lianming's death was deemed as self inflicted, and because of the blood circle they presumed he performed demonic arts and failed to withstand the power thus resulting to his death. Sect leader Zhen also didn't believe this. One of his scouts was there even before the mob came to the old shack, even though he never stepped inside or peeked inside the shack, there were no sounds at all, no demonic spell chant not even a chant of the spell he gave ws heard, the shack was so utterly silent.

Demonic cultivation, especially for those still new to it always need to chant out the spell in order for it to be effective. Only those who mastered this evil cultivation path can do it without a sound. And Lianming was no master of this path. Which means that something happened within the shack that only the deceased Lianming knows.

This was the start where Sect Leader Zhen had enough, why would they kill a slave boy who was rumored to be out of his mind but in personal was very meek, silent, and obeying? He wrote the threatening letter and after receiving their reply of "we will explain everything in front of the crowd of our city" his long hidden hunch of foul play defeated his cool head and he started to rally his troop towards the LingweiPing's capital city to urge the Ling's to repent on their evil deeds.

Back at the Ping residence, hearing the reply of Sect Leader Zhen, they had waited for this very moment of their visitation. In which the Ling's and their men knows that it will be their last. Mrs. Ping however, refused to take part of the awaited bloodshed, she told her husband that she will stay behind the front lines for now and watch things unfold. Her husband agreed to it and told her to watch it with great excitement.

The heavy feeling back when Lianming was burned in the crowd came back to her, before the day of the visit she came back to the lake to once again, 'pay respect' to Lianming's soul. She saw an old woman sitting on the lake's edge murmuring words but she didn't mind her. The old lady then stood up and walked past her slowly while still murmuring. Her words shook Mrs. Ping's heart, she shivered in fear and eyes fixed on the incense that was burning with disbelief.

"Lianming's coming back" those were the old woman's words before she finally left the lake, she was never seen again even after Mrs. Ping asked all around the town about the old lady.
