Suga's POV:
I really enjoyed having Daichi join me at lunch time, although I'm not really sure if he actually enjoyed it or not. I made my way back to class where I sat and talked with a few friends, I told them about Daichi and they told me that if I liked him I should just tell him. I told them that there's no way I could do that yet since we only just started talking.
Class started and went by slowly as I waited for the end of the day, I was really excited even though I despised sports. I was just excited to see Daichi and meet his friends.
Not only that but tonight's the one night of the week where my mom works late and I'm stuck at home with my dad, on these nights he takes it as a chance to get as drunk as possible. Usually that leads to me getting hurt and then him ranting about how much he hates me. It was always hard to get out of that situation and I'd just have to hide, because ignoring him made him violent.
The bell rang and my friends wished me luck as they all headed out. I made my way down to the gym and went inside. Everyone turned to look at me and Daichi made his way over.
"I'm glad you came." He smiled.
"I wouldn't miss it." I sighed in return.
"Who's your new friend Daichi?" Asked a short boy with a blonde streak in his hair.
"This is Koushi Sugawara, he came to watch our game today."
"Wait, the Koushi Sugawara? I heard your song on the local radio this morning! You're so good!" One orange hair kid exclaimed.
"Thank you." I smiled.
He heard my song on the radio? I don't remember sending it into the station, if he means my newest song I posted it on the Internet. Did they really put my song on the radio? I wanted to fanboy so hard right now but did my best to stay calm.
The other team made their way into the gym and I walked over and sat by the wall. I didn't know the first thing when it came to volleyball, I had only played those few times in gym class but we were never really taught how to play. If only my dad were here to see me watching a sports game, he'd be proud if he didn't already despise me. I need to stop thinking about him, I need to focus on Daichi's game.
Every time he scored a point he'd turn to look at me and smile, I'd smile back. I think the game went pretty well, they won and after everyone got changed Daichi came out and I stood up and smiled at him.
"How was that?" He asked.
"It was fun, it was my first in person sports game."
"Really, I thought every family went out to watch sports games every once in a while." He laughed.
My expression went blank as a wave of bad memories crashed on top of me.
"Hey, are you okay?" He asked.
I looked up to him with wide eyes and then just nodded.
"Do you have any plans for the rest of the night? Because if not we could hang out, maybe go get something to eat."
"Okay, yeah I'd like that." I smiled.
I was so thankful that he asked me that because if not I would've had to go home to my drunken father.
As Daichi and I left the gym and said goodbye to his teammates I felt my phone vibrate in my bag. I took it out and saw I had twelve missed calls from my dad. I sighed and Daichi looked over to me.
"What's up?" He asked as he peeked over my shoulder.
"Are you sure you don't have any plans? I mean if your dad is calling you this much there's gotta be something going on."
"No, I just didn't tell him I was going out."
"Do you want to call him back? I can step away for a second if you want." He shrugged.
"Thank you." I sighed as he walked off.
I picked up as my father called.
"Where the hell are you!? Why haven't you been answering your phone!? You're supposed to be home right now!" He yelled into my ear.
"I was out with a friend." I sighed.
"Get your ass home right now!" "No, we're going out and I don't want to be at home with you just so you can yell at me!" I exclaimed before hanging up.
"Sorry." I sighed as I made my way back over to Daichi.
