Sitting on the floor in a dazed, Eugene's heart started to beat fast and the blood in him started to rush.

Nonstop thumps resound in his head and a crashing noise broke out making his eyes widen.

All of sudden, he was paralyzed, as if the adult Kaizer is currently holding his neck, whispering something cruel as if telling his beloved something... one of the romantic love words.

As if being dragged and chained in the darkness...Eugene close his eyes and started another incantation, hoping of going back to the Shradinza Household.

"Waa--"

Light burst out and Kaizer use his arms to block his eyes.

Knowing that the boy used teleportation and was probably not proficient in magic reduces his doubt. Kaizer knew at just a glance that the boy is not from some organization or group because the boy is wearing expensive clothes, though he didn't see the embroidery in full view he knew that the clothes had a crest which made him part of the nobility.

Unfortunately, the boy seems frightened.

"Kaizer!"

The door swung open and his father appeared with his strongest soldiers.

"Fathe--"

"Hurry, find the intruder!"

Knowing that his father senses the lingering magic, he couldn't help but frown. Just how could a boy at such an age have a strong amount of magic that could break into the barrier of their dukedom?

He too has a huge amount of mana which was sealed by his father to prevent him from running rampant but that boy is the same as him, why does he look so normal? How could his small body contain that amount of mana without going crazy?

"Are you okay? Where did the intruder go?"

Kaizer pushes his father's face in annoyance: "Let go!"

"No! Tell Dad where did that intruder go? I need to catch him, how dare he enter the room of my son!"

Kaizer couldn't bear his father's doting character. He raised his feet and kick his father's stomach before stepping back.

"Ack--"

The duke kneeled and laughed, "As expected of my son, you are strong enough to make your father feel pain. However, my father's heart is bleeding...how could my precious son refuse me? If only your mommy is here then I could be healed."

Kaizer face palms while Lancelotte on the side covers his mouth to prevent the sound of his laughter from being heard.

"Dad, are you underestimating me?"

Kaizer gritted his teeth, "I tag along with you in a war and kill people under your sight, how dare you look down on me!"

The duke choked.

"N-No, daddy is just wor---"

Kaizer gives his father another kick on the leg.

"Ack-"

Lancelotte coughed when trying to prevent his laughter and the three top soldier of the De la Vallier, upon witnessing their duke dote and pamper their young master stood like a rock and look in a different direction, with separate thoughts.

"As expected of the young master, only he can make the duke kneel."

"I wonder how outsiders will react when they witness such a scene."

"Duke! Don't give up! Soon young master will understand your love!"

——Contrary to the liveliness of the duke's mansion, the Shradinza household this time is deserted and gloomy.

Eugene who teleported back into his room collapsed while holding his chest and gasping thinking about the scenario earlier.

The young Kaizer is not far from the adult Kaizer who is pretentious and cruel to people who displease him, adding the doting and pampering of the duke, Kaizer is invincible and almost no noble dare to disrespect him.

Just like how crazy the father is, the son is also the same.

With tears falling from his eyes, he drag his body and fell on the bed exhausted. The scene earlier keeps repeating in his mind making him pull his hair in annoyance and almost go crazy whenever he felt like he's still facing the Kaizer of the past.

In the end, Eugene falls into a deep sleep and once again dreams about his previous life.

The high technologies, the standard of education, tall modern buildings, and beautiful scenery. His acquaintances, friends, and all the good things he did to atone for his past life sins.

In his dream, he goes back to earth and lives peacefully but then a black hole appeared sucking him in. His childhood friend look panicked and reached a hand to save him but it was too late. Before he knew it he go back again in those painful and lonely days.

He hated it, he loath himself.

Crying, he grab a knife to slice his wrist but was prevented.

In front of him are his parents, sibling, and butler. All of them look at him with a pair of disappointing eyes, he wanted to scream and explain but his voice won't come out. The pressure slowly kills him... in the end, his vision was eaten by the darkness.

He stood alone without seeing anything.

And then a clank of the chain could be heard.

A hand wrapped around his neck and the other caressed his cheek "No need to be trouble. In this darkness, there's no redemption. You cannot change yourself as long as I'm existing within you. I can only sleep but once you need power don't think twice to call out to me. I am you ― the persona you abandoned but I am not sad, after all, you will come back to me."

The chain moved surrounding his body together with his shadow. He was trapped in the everlasting illusion...then a clock tick...and when he woke up he felt ambiguously empty. Somehow he can't remember anything upon waking up. He could only stare at the ceiling and found out that it was already morning.

"What happens?"

Pulling his body up...he sat on the bed, dazed.

Eugene feels weak for no reason, and his heart feels heavy like he's carrying a weight of huge stones. Wondering what happen before he fall asleep, he massages his forehead while trying to recall but to no avail, he failed to retrieve his memory.

"Again?"

Not knowing what's going on...

Eugene who had no idea that his memory was forcefully reset by an unknown force weakly leaned on the headboard.

What he didn't notice is that an aura of his mana, forming like himself looked at him with red eyes wishing to penetrate his body before disappearing.

——"Mother!"

Early in the morning, Shradinza Household becomes noisy, and the reason? Well, it's because Eullian, the most favored child of the Shradinza Household finally recovered from his illness and can now go out of his room and play with his little sister Eunice who is still in a sleepy state.

"I don't want to play with brother! I'm still sleepy!"

Eunice pouted and squatted down.

"You just sleep all day! How could you not spend your time with your brother?!"

Marchioness Celisha angrily pulled her daughter up and use her hand fan to hit Eunice to make her straighten her posture to keep her ladylike demeanor.

"Manners, young lady."

Eunice purse her lips and lowered her head.

Eullian who saw his little sister's aggrieve expression feel bad and said to his mother: "Forget it, mom, let Eunice sleep more and I'll play with Raphael."

"How can you play without a companion?!"

The Marchioness soften her face, "Don't mind her, your little sister is just willful. Today is good weather so it's best to spend time outside."

"Mom, it's okay~"

Marchioness Celisha sigh and look at her third son lovingly.

"Mom is just worried that your body will deteriorate if you keep staying indoors. Even the doctors suggest that you must move your body around to strengthen your stamina."

Eullian pursed his lips.

He dislike it whenever his mother mention his weak body and that he couldn't even do what he wanted to do. That's why he is really envious that his second brother Eugene, unlike him is so healthy and rarely gets sick. If only he had that kind of healthy body then he won't be stuck inside the mansion like a petted bird in a cage.

"Mother, brother Eullian said it's fine so can I go back to my room?"

Eunice who can't read the mood asked making her mother glare at her.

"Sleep! Sleep! Sleep! Is that all you know? If only you are focusing on your study then I won't care about your habit but no! A simple thing like accompanying your brother to play, you can't even do it?!"

"Mom!" Eullian shouted and glanced at his little sister worriedly.

Eunice who is only five years old didn't understand why her mother always got mad at her whenever she refuse to play with his brother is on verge of tears.

"Don't spoil your little sister too much Eullian."

"Mom, I'm not spoiling her. Just don't force her to spend time with me since I can play with Raphael and the other servants."

Eullian grabs her mother's dress and looks at her with teary eyes.

The Marchioness who is annoyed immediately keeps away her temper and said, "It's fine. But playing with the servants is a little bit..."

"Mom!"

Marchioness Celisha forced a smile upon seeing her son's angry expression and replied, "Alright, mom agreed." while dropping an intense gaze at her daughter who is trembling in fear.

"You can go, just make sure to keep away from Lierose Garden."

Lierose Garden is the garden near Eugene's room and that is where Eugene usually spends his free time but Eullian loves to play there...He loves to play with Eugene despite being bullied every day, after all, being with Eugene feels like he's just any normal kid.

Feeling guilty, he gripped his shirt tightly.

He actually plans to go there to see his little brother knowing that his little brother was punished again because of him, but now that his mother mention it, he knew she will remind Raphael and Raphael would also prevent him from getting further in that place.

What to do?

He wanted to apologize to Eugene and see if he was okay.

After all, only his second brother Eugene is the only one who won't treat him as a fragile person that would die just by taking two steps.

"I know mom."

The marchioness breathed a sigh of relief before looking at Raphael and reminding him of the dos and don'ts. And Eunice who turn mute was dragged away by her maidservant to keep her away from the marchioness's attention and scolding.

——"Young master, good morning."

Vincent who entered the room push the food trolley and pick the dishes to put on the table.

The reason why Vincent still served Eugene's breakfast and dinner...is because Eugene is still under the punishment of the Duke and he's not allowed to eat in the dining hall to continue self-reflecting.

For Vincent, it's a harsh punishment.

But Eugene thinks otherwise and is glad that he won't need to play fake in front of his parents and endure his little brother's presence.

His only concern is his little sister.

Eunice is always treated strictly by his mother but unlike him, his little sister has his father to protect her from her mother.

But never once he is envious and hated his little sister.

From the past up to now, Eugene still cares for and protects his little sister.

What he couldn't express to Eullian, he pour it all to Eunice.

He did everything to protect her from harm and danger. Eugene would even go as far as to investigate every man around her to make sure that no one had I'll intention towards Eunice who is for him, a kind and lovely little kid and a beautiful and elegant lady that deserved every men's admiration and love.

He really did everything...
