WS: Beast Hunting [10]

In the middle of the night, Eugene woke up from his sleep.

He look around and saw that his companion is fast asleep, probably because of exhaustion. He stood up and fix the quilt covering Kaizer's whole body before walking out of the cave in silence, making sure no one will wake up because of him.

The night is cold and so dark.

Looking at the sky, Eugene sigh and continue walking away.

Because he was so focused, he didn't see a shadow and felt the presence of Kaizer who always woke up and went after him in confusion.

When Eugene gets out of bed and walks out of the cave, Kaizer was woken up by his brother.

[Wake up! Follow him! Make sure to protect him!]

Kaizer who was startled opened his eyes confusedly and look beside him while yawning.

(Brother where will sister-in-law go?)

[Who knows! Just follow him and protect him!]

The soul of the elder brother is getting stronger so both can finally be able to communicate. Before sleeping, Kaizer ask his elder brother how can they communicate now and the elder brother just said that he stealing power from nature to wake up from deep slumber. Now, with the help of their father the eldest brother can wake up anytime but the question is, will their father lift the seal of his eldest son?

The answer is a big no.

Grand Duke Karsten would rather make the eldest break the seal than lift the spell for him.

Why?

Because his eldest is so dangerous and strong. As long as his eldest can still be sealed then he won't do anything and just wait for his eldest son to break the shackles on his own.

He doesn't fear being hated by his eldest son, he just fears that no one will be able to control his eldest lest suffer in his lifetime. But he knew that it was different now because his eldest is showing a sign of consciousness because of Eugene.

Now, even if his eldest awaken, as long as Eugene is within the empire's wall...

Nothing could go wrong.

——Eugene fulfilled his promise to the beast snake and enter their territory.

Eugene wanted to end this quickly so he set up a magic circle around while sitting on a branch of the tree, looking down below at the demon beast snake's hidden lair.

He was humming happily.

The demon beast snake has no idea that a human entered their territory so they crawl around while some stay still, asleep. While the magic circle is appearing surrounding their lair, the snake after a minute immediately feels that something is wrong so they hissed loudly and enter the cave, intending to protect their queen from outsiders force while some stay outside.

"Hiss! Hiss!"

Eugene covers his mouth and laughs lowly.

Kaizer who is hiding not too far away widen his eyes when he saw a bunch of big and small red magic circles placed on the lair of the snake beast.

(Isn't that magic?!)

[My love is a dualist-- No, far stronger than a dualist.]

(What do you mean brother?!)

[He can kill without moving for as long as he wanted.]

Kaizer paused and murmured: "T-Then brother wouldn't you get beaten every day by my sister-in-law because you're so grumpy? Being beaten hurts, my sister-in-law beat me up and I started to rethink my choices. B-Brother you, if you get beaten don't find me. I don't want to fight sister-in-law, you go suffer yourself."

[I'm stronger than him!]

[Stop your nonsense, he won't be able t beat me.]

(How strong are you brother?)

[I can destroy the heavenly realm for him.]

(Don't joke with me, brother.)

[Shut up, It's true!]

(Forget it, I'll say good things to my sister-in-law about you.)

Kaizer continues to hide and watch the demon snake beast panic but is unable to find the source of the pressure. Kaizer doesn't know how Eugene made his magic for snakes unable to find him but it's visible to the naked eye how the mountain cave is currently surrounded by magic circles that are growing brightly in red.

With dangers being sensed, even the snake king crawls out to protect its pregnant queen.

A level 10 demonized beast, the snake king.

When the level 10 king beast appeared Eugene raise wave his hand and in just a second, a small magic circle appeared in the vital part of the snake king, intending a one-strike kill.

Kazer's heart is beating fast.

Eugene is planning a one-strike kill. It will only be successful if the mana is strong and abundant but will fail if the mana inside the body didn't meet the requirements of the casted spell.

(Brother, will it be successful? I'm afraid if it fails sister-in-law will experience a backlash.)

[Worry about yourself, this would have a strong impact.]

[You'll be blown away so hurry and cast a 10-layer barrier.]

(T-Ten layer? Brother are you kidding me?!)

In just a few seconds, the magic circles lighten in synchronization and spin like a wheel before letting out a strong red beam, hitting the mountain rock cave and the snakes that are just outside the cave. Even the level 10 demon snake king was caught off guard and its vital parts become a massive hole as its body collapsed on the ground, wriggling.

The fearsome level 10 demon snake king dies just like that.

The surrounding was destroyed and some trees collapse except the tree where Eugene is located. Kaizer who is hiding grits his teeth as he bears the impact of the light beam and has no choice but to teleport back not far from the cave of their shelter, with some parts of his body burned and bloody as his 10-layer barrier was destroyed.

(Brother how could you lie to me?!)

[I'm not! I just didn't expect him to be this strong enough!]

Forget about the level 10 barrier, he's afraid he should have placed a 20-level barrier to barely survive that kind of attack! So, this is what his eldest brother means when he said that Eugene can kill anyone without moving his body that much?

He only saw Eugene wave his hand which is scary enough!

[I can cast a spell that can destroy the empire, do you want it?]

Kaizer immediately cast healing magic and pick some change of clothes in his storage brooch. After fixing himself, he hurried back and lay on the bedding, closing his eyes still recalling what happen earlier. He can't sleep, it's his brother's fault for asking him to protect someone who is far stronger than him. Just what is his love-brain brother doing?

Five minutes have pass and Eugene who just destroyed some part of the Sena forest came back like nothing happened and lay beside him to sleep.

Kaizer shiver.

(Brother, you two are really meant for each other, I wish you a long life and happy marriage!)

[Seems like, you already understand me.]

Father! Put me back in my body! I don't want this!

——The next day, Kaizer woke up, not in the mood as he walked swayingly outside the cave. Still rethinking his life decision as he possesses his eldest brother's body.

However, no one pays attention to Kaizer as all of them raise their head to look at the scoring board that is counting numbers.

Everyone had their jaw drop, not understanding what happened.

The scoreboard started because the second day of the first round is now officially resumes. However, when the scoreboard worked again, it was bombarded with increasing points, and that points belong to team 4.

"What happen?! Is the scoring board broken?!"

"What is this number?!"

"We just woke up and team 4 is ranked first now?!"

Kaizer look at Eugene who is still yawning while feeding Timber, not caring about the ruckus he made as he almost, probably eliminate all snake demon beasts as he [Eugene] ambush the lair. Well, a re-evaluation would probably happen as team 4's score keeps increasing.

Kaizer has no idea how many levels 5 to 10 beasts higher are inside the lair causing these points but he's sure that Eugene's attack really killed all the demon beasts in that lair as the damage is so huge and the mountain rock even collapses and disappears from the map of Sena forest.

Casimin walked towards Kaizer.

"What the hell happened?"

Kaizer yawned and replied: "Eugene destroyed a lair."

"Oh destroy a lair no wonder--- ah? destroy what?!" Casimin held Kaizer's shoulder and shook it: "Did you just say destroyed a lair? Is Eugene a madman?! Why would he destroy a lair?!"

"Keep your voice down, I just knew it because I follow him that night."

"Seriously?"

"He will be under investigation because a huge part of the land was damaged and destroyed. Team 4's score is sure to be frozen. But don't worry, the academy won't let people know that Eugene did it, it's a confidential situation."

"Is Eugene aware of consequences?!"

"Probably?! Forget it, don't talk to me, I'm sleepy."

"Hey!"

Kaizer ignores Casimin and leans on a tree to take a nap.

Eugene who watches Kaizer retracted his gaze and keeps feeding Timber breakfast because they would be entering the dungeon later on the final second day of the first round. He needs to cast a barrier to avoid outside force from picking Timber's bad memories and only leaves the good ones to survive the illusion. He doesn't want Timber to remember his young self as being only a doll to his eldest step-brother.

"Timber can you close your eyes?"

Timber look at Eugene confusedly but nodded.

Seeing Timber's obedient appearance, Eugene sigh and placed his hand on Timber's head.

A magic circle appeared on the back of the palm of Eugene but immediately disappear. Everyone is busy looking at the scoreboard so they didn't witness such a scene, only Casimin who is aware that Eugene can use magic doubted it.

Eugene can't use a magic spell but not his own spell.

Anova that only the blood of Del Viltaria can use, Mideva that all of the magicians use, and Arisa, the magic that Eugene created for himself to survive in heavenly realms.

Eugene's magic spell is not normal and is deadly enough to use.

This is why Eugene tried to learn Mideva so that even if someone found out he can use magic, his unusual spell won't be noticed. Sadly he only learns teleportation and low-level healing magic. It's not enough as a disguise but he rarely has time to practice.

"Eugene?"

"It's done. I just put some barrier in your brain so the illusion won't affect you too much."

Timber pouted, "You always treat me like I'm weak."

"I know you're not weak, but I just want to spoil you."

Only in that way, he can forget his guilt.

Eugene stood up after eating the remaining food that Timber left and walk towards Kaizer, patting his [Kaizer] head to wake him [Kaizer] up, saying, "We'll go and enter the dungeon after breakfast, thank you for lending us your bedding, we'll pay favor on the second round."

Kaizer woke up and lifted his head.

"Oh, yeah we'll go with you."

Eugene frown: "Did you not sleep?"

Kaizer stiffen, "N-No I sleep enough! I just love sleeping!"

"Forget it."

Eugene waves his hand and goes back to Timber. The reason Eugene decided to go into the dungeon early in the morning is to prevent himself from being arrested by the observers before the first round ended because he had just blown up some part of the Sena Forest. He'll probably get locked up in the academy which will make his father furious.

Well, who cares?

At least he got his petty revenge.

Looking above at the scoreboard, Eugene's lips twitch. Well, looks like he probably really overdid it. The sparkling gold letters ranking first almost blinded Eugene. He couldn't help but cover his face and suddenly realize that he really did too much.
