June 2019
June then came, our orientation. This is where the new students, the old students, the teachers and staffs get together.
The teachers will discuss anything or any information about the school. Those stuffs like where is the comfort room located, what is your room, when do regular classes start, where is your assigned locker and more.
I arrived to the school at like 6:45 a.m. and the orientation actually starts at 7:00 a.m. so I'm glad I was not late.
When I got to school, new faces came to my sight, especially the freshmen students. I'm feeling this little nervousness crawling around my body. I was literally staring at everyone when one of the teachers shouted, "Alright, everyone gather up!".
It drew my attention so I started walking at the big quadrangle located in the centre of the school, right outside the entrance. It is an open field place where the ground is made out of stone cold slabs.
"Good morning everyone. My name is Cole, snd I will be your guide for today. I am also a History professor so-actually I just wanted you to know." that Cole teacher said, he lives on my neighbourhood, probably three houses away from mine.
I don't like history to be honest. I remember last year when my former history teacher was talking at the front, my eyes were about to give up and my mind is just flying away.
So all of the teachers and staffs introduced themselves. It's like they're doing a performance right after they introduced themselves. They divided us into groups, factions to keep the peace-I'm just kidding.
They divided us according to our year label. And as for me, of course I am placed in the seniors.
As I walk through the hallway along with the seniors, something or maybe someone hit my head. I grunted in pain and when I looked behind me, I saw the one who hit me.
It was a girl. Actually, a girl that I've known since I was a freshman. Candice. Her bright blue eyes filled me with joy. I could look into those eyes of hers for hours and not get tired of it. I was flustered and muttered sorry even though she's the one who hit me.
She just smiled and laughed at me then started running through the hall onto the classroom we were assigned.
Her friends started following too. Jane, her best friend, greeted me as she run through the hallway, "Hey, Asher!" she said, following Candice.
I greeted her too, "Hey." I started smiling by that moment, I also can't wait to see all of my friends.
When I reached the classroom, I opened the door in front of me.
"Hi." the only thing I said and smiled to the people inside the room. All of them are my classmates since freshmen years. No new faces.
Sitting on one of the chairs inside the classroom, the door suddenly opened and there stood a girl. Must be new. Never seen her face before in this school, but she's somehow familiar.
She was really shy since she entered until she sat down on a chair in front of me. When I got closer to her to have a better look, "Lea!" I immediately shouted. I was so loud that everyone heard me and started looking at us.
"You know her?" Justin asked, he was beside me.
"Yeah, she was my schoolmate when I was in grade school." I answered. Lea smiled a bit, I think she was not that shy anymore.
Another sound of the door being opened filled the classroom. This time it's a guy that has a sling bag and a big curvy stomach. He went to the desk that is located in front of the whole class.
We all fixed our way of sitting when the guy entered the room, assuming it is a teacher.
He gave us this little squint and started talking. "Can someone tell me what is a reflexive pronoun?" he said, his voice was stern and scary. I was shocked on what he said, I mean we, we were shocked.
Who wouldn't be surprised by that? I mean it is a freaking serious lecture question.
"Well, I'm just kidding. I actually just wanted all of you to have a good vibe." he added, while all of us started feeling the relief. He laughed and then started introducing himself.
His name is Ericson, but he told us that we can just call him Mr. Eric. He is an English major so I assumed he will be the one who will be teaching us that subject.
After introducing himself, he told us that it is our turn to introduce ourselves. Then the feeling of nervousness hit me and started spreading all over my body.
"Why don't we start with you?" Mr. Eric said, pointing in the direction just beside me. He was talking to Justin.
