Seventeen

Mr. Eric walked into the class, holding papers with both of his hands. "I got your results."

I immediately went to my seat because earlier I was talking to my friends. I sat, made myself comfortable, and looked at Mr. Eric. I took a deep breath while listening to him.

"So far, most of you did a great job. Some have maintained their marks, some improved, and some went down the hill." he explained while seating to his chair and counting the papers one by one.

I'm straightly looking at him, my eyes were full of seriousness. He then stood up and gave the papers and I can see the reactions of my classmates as Mr. Eric walk and gave each other their test papers.

Waiting for him, I took a deep breath again and closed my eyes. I'm shaking my legs in purpose while I tap the desk with my fingers.

Not so long moments have passed then I heard him calling my name. "Asher," he called, looking at me worryingly. I opened my eyes and looked at him.

"You alright?" he asked, still worrying. I nodded at him and glanced at my friends that were also looking at me. They know I'm really anxious about the exams, they already knew it when I told them.

I glanced back at Mr. Eric that is still looking at me. "Yeah, just...coffee jitters."

He gave me my test paper and said, "Well, you must be taking too much coffee. Limit yourself, kiddo."

I nodded and smiled at him. He walked away from my seat and I looked again at my friends. They were still worrying and keeps on checking me.

"I'm fine." I mouthed at them and smiled.

I didn't wait for their answer and I accidentally looked at my paper. I can feel my mouth slightly opening because of shock.

I got a perfect score.

I chuckled nervously, my mouth is still open, my eyes are happy, my mind is happy, and I am happy.

When we got out, I quickly ran into the spot where me and my friends usually go. Remember? The round table thing. I saw them, they're already there and I am running to them with a smile on my face.

"Hey." I happily greeted them. They all looked at me and Cristina squinted her eyes at me. "Well someone's happy." she teased. I chuckled as well as them.

"Yep." I responded, popping that 'p' part.

"Bitch, lemme guess," Maddie said with her sassy voice, as usual. "You play basketball now aren't you?"

"What? No." I laughed. "I would never play that sport."

"Then what is it?" Irish cut in.

I raised my paper. "I passed." I proudly said.

They chuckled and cheered for me. Cristina squealed in happiness and Agatha stood up to hug me. "I'm proud of you!" she cheerfully said with her arms wrapped around my waist. I hugged her back, "Thank you." I whispered.

"Uh-huh, I'll join." Maddie said and went at my back to hug me too.

"Oh, come on! You're not doing that without me." Justin grunted then he stood up and went for my side.

"Alright, I guess we'll squeeze in too." Mika said and stood up. Same with Irish and Cristina.

I have a wide smile on my face while we were hugging. We were having a group hug, and that is one of the best moments that happened this year.
