Guild of Gods: Scene 3

Storming over to the set, I'm ready to rip Will a new one. Right as I spot him, I realize they're a few minutes away from shooting. That's fine. I can wait till the end of the day, but the second that clock hits quitting time all bets are off. Today's set is definitely different from the last. It looks like a very techy futuristic training center with greys, chromes, and lights that give off white colors. It still has hints of Greece with words written in Greek above the doorways, and a variety of weapons you would see in ancient Greece. There's shields, spears, bows, arrows, and xiphos along the walls and the racks. A combination of modern, and futuristic training equipment spread throughout the room. In the center there's a square mat for fighting. Off to the side is a metal staircase that leads to a walkway made of the same material. Up there the actor who plays Chiron is getting his final touches. Off to the side of the set, Will is kneeling in front of Joy appearing to give her advice for the next scene. How sweet. Maybe I won't give him those Carolina peppers after all.

"Quiet on the set!"

Hearing them make the calls, I make sure to stay out of the way of the crew. Will and Joy take their places amongst the other actors.

"Action!"

Theo walks through one of the doorways with a hand on Marcelline's shoulder. Almost in a protective stance. She appears to be in awe of her surroundings. As they walk through the training center, a lot of the trainees stop what they're doing and either stare at Theo or give him a respectful greeting. He just nods or grunts to the ones who greet him and ignores the rest. They make their way up the staircase where Chiron watches over everything below.

"Hello, Chiron."

"Theo, welcome back! How did the mission go?"

"Not according to plan, but it ended with the same result as planned."

"Excellent. If there's anyone I can count on, it's you. And who is this?"

"The person who threw off the plans. Meet Marcelline."

Walking next to Chiron, he looks to the training ground below and lowers his voice for the next line.

"I need to speak to you. Alone."

They both turn to look at Marcelline as she looks around the place with eyes full of questions. Chiron nods to him, and then speaks to Marcelline.

"Hello. Marcelline was it?"

She nods in response.

"My name is Chiron. It's nice to meet you. I would like to introduce you to someone."

He waves to a girl on the floor, and she comes up the stairs and meets the group.

"This is my friend Iris. She's going to show you around our training grounds."

"Is he coming with us?" Marcelline asks while pointing at Theo.

"No. He and I have something very important to discuss."

"Then, I'm not going. I'm staying with him."

"Marcelline–"

"No."

Will sighs and then gets on one knee to be at eye level with Marceline.

"Why do you need to be with me?" Will asks her.

"You're the only one I trust."

"You don't even know my name."

"Doesn't matter. I'm not going anywhere without you."

He takes off his watch and hands it to her.

"This watch is my most important possession. It even has my name on the back here see 'Theo' right there. I'm going to go with Chiron now, but I'll have no choice but to come back for that watch so don't lose it ok?"

"You promise you'll come back?"

"Yep. Now scram. I'll be back before you know it."

Iris takes Marcelline's hand and leads her away.

"And cut! Great job. Let's take a few more shots and then we'll take lunch."

I walk away and order some pizza for the both of us. While I wait, I make a phone call to Keller and make a list of upcoming events he has and what I need to do to prepare him for them. After I get off the phone, I make my way over to the front to collect our pizzas when I see someone raising a ruckus.

"I'm telling you I know Will and Astra. If you just let me in they will show you!"

"And we're telling you that unless one of them lets us know ahead of time, we are not letting you in."

"Do I look like the type of person who would sneak onto a set?"

"Yes."

"I am Dillon Baldwin! I don't need to sneak onto any set, I just walk in!"

"If you're Dillon Baldwin then I am William Wang. Now get out of here before we make you."

Guess I'd better go and save him. I sprint to the front before something happens.

"Hey, Dillon."

"Astra, they're being mean to me."

"Do you know this man, Astra?" Frank says while pointing to Dillon.

"Of course. That's Dillon Baldwin. He's a friend of Will and mine. Is it ok if he comes and says hello?"

Their jaws drop when they realize he was telling the truth.

"Not a problem. Sorry for the inconvenience."

"Not a problem. Thank you for doing your job. Give me a second, Dillon. I need to grab lunch."

After paying for the pizzas, Dillon takes the boxes and we walk over to Will's trailer.

"What are you doing here here, Dillon?"

"After what happened yesterday, I decided the security isn't enough so I've decided to come protect you myself."

"Dillon, you're the famous one. What's going to happen if a mob comes or the paparazzi comes here?"

"I make sure you're safe."

"Uh I'm pretty sure you'll be the target and besides, you have to work yourself. You can't just neglect your jobs to come and hang out with me."

"First of all it's not hanging out, it's making sure you're safe. Second of all what's the point of being born with a silver spoon if I can't just hang around whenever I want?"

"And Mrs. Callista is going to be ok with this?"

"I'm willing to make a sacrifice for the wellbeing of my friend."

I rub his head with a smile.

"You're a good friend, Dillon."

"I know. I deserve payment for my services. Which is why you're going to to share one of these pizzas with me."

"Fair enough."
