"What are we doing here, babe?" Noah asked as we stood in front of the department store.
"We're shopping for the baby, obviously," I answered with a flat tone.
"But we just shopped for him the day before yesterday," he said. I am already five months pregnant and it was last week when we learned from the ultrasound result that we're having a baby boy.
"But I want to shop for his clothes again," I answered. Since we learned about the baby's gender, there's no day that I bought stuff for him. I am just very much excited about our baby and I couldn't contain my excitement anymore.
"Come on, baby. Your parents gave us a massive box full of baby stuff yesterday. There's nothing we need that we need to buy here." I can't stop looking and buying baby clothes. Those tuffs are just so cute and all I want is to buy them for our baby. I am sure those clothes I bought for him would surely look good on him.
"But I want to buy our baby the kinds of stuff he might need."
"Babe--" Noah wasn't able to finish what he was saying when someone called him.
"Noah?" A female voice asked. Noah and I turned around to see who that was.
"Ana Maria? Qué haces aquí, Ana María?" Noah asked in a language which I do not understand.
"Yes, it's me, Noah. I just came here to visit. Your mother seemed to miss me," she answered with a smile.
I'm sorry but we need to go. También tienes que volver a España," Noah said before pulling me.
I couldn't help but wonder why was Noah acted like that in front of Ana Maria? Why does he seem so affected by her presence?
As we arrive home, Noah started calling someone before going out and I was left alone, clueless. I just finished changing my clothes when I received a message from an unknown number.
"This is Ana Maria, Braelle. Can we meet at Cafe Esperanza? I just want to know my friend's wife more."
The message and the sender seem harmless so I replied, "Okay, wait for me." Why won't I? She's friends with Noah, right?
"Uhm, hey!" I said as stood in front of Ana Maria inside the cafe where she said we would meet.
"I'm glad you came," she said with a smile on her lips.
"Why do you want to know things about me, anyway. You're friends with Noah, I am sure he already told you some things about me," I said as I seat on the chair in front of her.
"Fortunately, he hasn't told me things about you in the past. So I don't know anything about you aside from the fact that you are his wife."
"So what's your point?"
"Think about it. Anyway, it's fine though. Seems like you also do not know your husband very well." She said which made me raise my eyebrows.
"Of course, I know my husband," I countered.
"But I know him better," she said that made me confuse. What do I not know about Noah?
"You know what, you're like gold. Of course, you're Braelle Bellame. And I am like a feather," she said out of nowhere.
"What are you talking about? Why are you suddenly talking about gold and feather?" I asked confusedly.
"But what weighs more? A pound of gold or a pound of a feather?" She said before leaving.
Even though I already arrived at our house, I still couldn't stop thinking about what Ana Maria has told me. I am confused the whole time I am on my way home. What was she talking about? I am gold and she's a feather? What are those for? I should really stop thinking too much about what she said. It may have a bad outcome for our baby.
I decided to go and find Noah in his office inside our house to talk about him and Ana Maria. The only person I can ask about her without stressing myself is Noah.
The door isn't properly closed and I was about to enter when I heard him talking to someone inside his office. I was about to return to our bedroom but then, I heard my name. I am involved. It concerns me.
"Don't worry about Ana Maria. Everything is fine, don't worry," Noah answered to whoever he is talking over his phone.
Is that the Ana Maria who I met in the cafe a while ago? But who is Ana Maria? Who do I have a feeling that she has a big role in Noah's life?
Oh God, I need to stop thinking too much! This might be bad for my baby and also, I may be wrong, I shouldn't think anything like this. This is wrong. Noah proved himself to me already. I shouldn't doubt him now!
'But what if you're right?' a part of me said. Damn! I don't know what to do anymore.
Noah's next words are something that I didn't expect, "Fortunately, Braelle isn't suspecting anything yet. Don't worry about Braelle, I can take care of everything. Take care of Ana Maria. Don't ever let her go around Braelle. No dejes que Ana María le diga a Braelle que ella también es mi esposa."
Who are you, Ana Maria?
