"Marry me,"
"What? Are you crazy?!" All I need right now is the company. Not a husband!
"No, I'm not. I am not forcing you to marry me. It's up to you if you'll accept it or not. I am giving you a choice," he said calmly.
"What if I decline?" I asked.
"If you decline then you should also say goodbye to your company," he answered.
"What's your reason? Why does it need to be a wedding?" Doesn't he have Ana Maria and their children? There must be a reason why he wants us to be married.
"You don't need to know the reason," he answered shortly.
"You have Ana Maria and your kids already!" I answered back. He got the looks and money, girls surely swoon over him. He even have Ana Maria by his side.
"Ana Maria and I are already divorced. We also conducted tests and learned that her kids aren't mine. Everything is already settled, Braelle."
I drastically put the document I was reading on my table. I can't focus, damn it! Noah's offer never left my mind. I told him earlier that I'll think bout it first. His revelation and offer aren't a joke.
I decided to call my mom and ask her if dad already changed his mind regarding our mansion in Cebu. I just want to rest from everything. I just want to have a peaceful life with Acrion. Damn!
"Hello, mom?" I asked when mom already answered my call.
"Hello, Braelle? Why did you call? Do you need something?" I can hear dad's voice from the background. Maybe they aren't done talking about the mansion yet.
"Mom, I just want to ask if dad already changed his mind regarding the house," I answered. I need their answer. I won't let them sell the mansion.
"I already talked to your dad and made him get your point. But Braelle, your dad's persistent about selling the mansion," mom answered. I can hear the sadness in her voice. Of course, she would be sad. Our mansion in Cebu is her favorite. That's her grandfather's gift to her.
"Don't worry about it, mom. I'll do something about that. Tell dad, okay?" I said before I hung up.
These things are making me stress. I don't even have enough time to bond with Acrion anymore just because of these problems.
"Yes," I said to Noah who is in front of me right now. I decided to ask him to have dinner with me in a restaurant near the company. We need to talk.
He seems confused with what I said, "Yes, what?" he asked.
"What I mean is, yes, I accept your offer. I'll marry you for the company," I answered. If I have the ownership of the company, dad wouldn't need to sell the mansion in Cebu and mom won't get sad anymore. Is just that, am I really ready to be his wife for the second time?
"What made you say yes?" He asked.
"Our son. Aside from that, I just want all these problems gone," I answered honestly.
"I was waiting for you to mention Acrion for the past months. Anyway, you're my fiance now," he said before placing a small black velvet box in the table.
"This isn't shocking for me. I already know you had sent someone to spy on me on Greece. What's this?" I asked as I open the box.
"Engagement ring," he answered shortly.
A simple yet elegant looking ring waved it's hello as I opened the velvel box. I can't even take my eyes off of it. It's a white gold ring with a big red beryl stone in the middle and small diamonds around it. I am mesmerized by the beauty of it. I am sure this costs billion! I saw some royalties wearing rings similar to it and all of those are expensive.
"It's beautiful but I don't need a ring, you know," I said. I don't know if it's just him being nice or what.
He slowly slid the ring in my finger.
Maybe those people who are watching us are thinking that we are so romantic. Some are even saying 'congratulations' but I know better. We ain't engaged because of love but because of a freakin' company. It's because of a deal.
"It suits you. It looks beautiful in your finger," he said.
Clad in black sexy Versace mini dress paired with a black Christian Louboutin pumps and a small black Chanel clutch in my left hand that made my engagement ring stand out, I graced the hallway to my office.
"Are you ready?" Noah asked.
"Yes." This is the night that he will finally meet Acrion. This is also the night that we will announce our engagement.
"The party went well. Acrion couldn't let go of his dad's arms. Everything is now going smoothly. Is this now the start of the so-called happy-ever-after?
"Noah…" I called him. He was busy talking to Acrion.
"What is it?"
"I love you," There. I've finally said it.
"I love you, too. The last time I've said those words to you were years ago. I'm glad I am able to say those words to you again," he answered that made me smile.
But one question keeps lingering on my mind.
"When is the wedding?"
