Samantha's POV:
When we are near the exist, I glance around and try to find Sarah.
It seems Nathan has realized that I am looking for someone. "Hm. Who are you looking for, Samantha?"
"Oh. I was looking for Sarah." I tell him and go back to searching for her.
"Sarah? Sarah who?" He questions. I look at him and see his confused expression. He looks so adorable.
I chuckle slightly and get closer to him. I tell him to bend down with my hand. He gets the signal and bends down. I pull his cheeks.
Instantly, he shouts. "Ow! What the hell was that for?!" He gets away from me and holds his cheek.
"Revenge." I tell him with a smirk. He pouts and is about to say something when I spot something. More like someone.
"Sarah!" I exclaim with joy. Both Nathan and Sarah flinch at my sudden outburst.
"Oh hey, Samantha. Going home?" She asks me in that same motherly tone.
"Yup. I wanted to inform you before leaving. Since you weren't at the reception, I thought I would find you at the reception but I didn't so I thought I would look for you." I tell her with a smile.
Hearing this, she instantly smiles and comes closer to me and gives me a hug. I waste no time in hugging her back.
After awhile she whispers so quietly that only I can make out the words she is saying,"Well, honey. I don't know what's wrong at your house but what I know is that it's hurting you a lot."
I am surprised to hear this. I wanted to ask her how she knew it. But I sort of have the feeling that she isn't done with what she was saying so I let her continue.
"Since it's your personal matter, I won't pry that much. But if you ever need someone to talk to, know that I am here." She breaks the hug and looks at me with a smile.
I nod my head and give her a smile of my own. I am glad I came here. I sorta feel better than before. If I had stayed home, I would probably be mourning in sadness.
"Oh. Who is this young boy with you?" Sarah's question brings me out of my trail of thoughts.
"This is Nathan, my childhood friend." I tell her.
"Hello, Ms. Sarah. Nice to meet you." He greets her with a smile and slightly bows as a sign of respect.
"Hello, Nathan. Nice to meet you too. I am happy to see Samantha actually having nice friends like you." She tells him, sympathy evident in her motherly voice.
"What do you mean?" He asks her. I widen my eyes at it. I forgot that he doesn't know about me being bullied.
"Oh. You do-" I cut Sarah off and hold Nathan's hands. It is rude but it's the only way I have from preventing Nathan to know.
"Well, Sarah. We better get going now. Bye bye. Take care." I tell her quickly and run as fast as I can with Nathan. I don't even wait for her reply. I will apologise to her the next time.
After what seemed like forever, I stopped. I take a deep breathe and wipe off my sweat from my forehead.
"Why- di- did you run- so fast?" He asks me. Yup. He is definitely out of breath.
Just then, I remember something. I open my bag and bring out a bottle of water and hand it to him. "Here."
He looks up and says, "Thanks."
He wastes no time in opening the cap and drinks the water. I look around and see that we are in a field. I sit on the ground. Soon, Nathan joins.
"Thanks. I needed it." He tells me as he hands me the bottle of water.
"You are welcome." I reply and keep the bottle inside my bag.
Nathan lays on the grass and sighs slightly. He has his eyes closed. I lay down beside him and look up at the sky.
After awhile, he breaks the silence and turns around. Looking straight at me, he asks me, "What did she want to say?"
I get tensed and get up. I don't look at him. "What are you talking about?" I ask him hesitantly.
"You know, you can't lie to me." He tells me with a sigh.
I bite my lip due to nervousness. I think of all the excuses I can tell him.
"Don't think of excuses." He tells me strictly. It's as if he read my mind. His blue orbs staring right at my green orbs.
I keep quiet. He clicks his tongue and turns sideways. "Fine. Don't tell me then."
He stays like that for some time. Finally, I sigh in defeat and decide to tell him. With a flat tone, I declare, "I am bullied."
As soon as he hears it, he gets up immediately and looks at me, "What?"
I smile weakly at him and tell him, "I am bullied." I repeat.
"Yea right. I heard you the first time. But what I mean is why you are bullied." He explains.
I sigh and begin. "People hate me because I am Sam's twin."
"Because you are Samuel's twin? But why?" He asks me with a concerned tone.
"I am his twin. His other half. We are supposed to be the same. Well, atleast that's what people think. They think that I am fat, ugly and worthless. I mean, it's true." I tell him. I am about to continue when Nathan cuts me off.
"No. You are not. You are not fat, ugly or worthless." He tells me with a stern tone.
I shake my head at his answer. I give him another weak smile and continue, "It's okay. I accepted the fact a long time ago. But they like to make me remind again and again. They call me names like fat, ugly, worthless and tells me that I should just die or that my mom shouldn't have given birth to me since I am an absolute disgrace." I soon begin sobbing and sniffing. I keep my head down as tears begin to fall.
Nathan hugs me and tries to calm me down. "Hey, hey... it's okay. You aren't all those, okay?" He continues whispering sweet nothings and rubs my back in a soothing way.
After awhile I stop crying and sniff quitely. I break the hug and wipe off my tears.
"But you know, it really doesn't hurt me that they bully me or compare me and Sam always. What hurts me is the fact that they always remind me how worthless I am 24/7. I mean I know where I stand, but they don't need to constantly remind me that. I am also a human. I also have feelings. Just like them, I also have emotions. So why can't they have even a little bit of mercy upon me? Why do they have to constantly remind me how worthless I am?" As I am saying this, tears begin to form around my eyes yet again. I quickly wipe them with the back of my hand.
"So yeah. That's currently my life at present. Getting bullied and living my life as the bullied girl, as Samuel's bullied twin." I tell him with a chuckle. A chuckle that held no emotions nor any meaning behind it.
Nathan stays quite for awhile. The silence around us is suffocating me. But neither of us dare to break it.
All of a sudden, Nathan hugs me out of nowhere. "Cry out." He orders me softly.
I am confused at what he is saying. "Huh?"
"Cry out your emotions, Samantha. Cry out what you are feeling. I am not going to judge you. Nor am I going to say anything to you. I promise." He tightens the hug as he tells me.
Soon, the tears that I have been trying to hold back fall one by one. I quickly hug Nathan and cry on his shoulders.
Like he promised, he doesn't judge me nor does he speak anything.
Only the sounds of me crying my heart out can be heard in this wide field.
