Chapter 9, Further Research

I witness the sun rising from the edges of the horizon while I sit down on my luxuriously comfortable wooden chair. Its light slowly climbing up the manor until it finally reaches the window I'm facing.

"Ha... I truly need to thank the Demoness for getting me this far! Oh and I should also thank the girl for bringing her holy tome with her down to the labyrinth, although I have yet to make progress on my Anti-Holy potion"

I look back at the rising sun shining beautifully infront of me, I suppose it's time to test see how Solastemia would react now.

"Now! To the streets!" I jump off my chair and cheered!

I burst open out of the room and run straight left to where the stairs are located, Oh wait!

I return and grab my tophat I hanged on the wall, Now to the streets once again!

I go down the stairs and exit out of the manor through the doors in style! Only to have it be ruined by me stepping on the wet puddle of flesh on the ground.

"Blast! Williams! Haven't I told you to clean the manor's surroundings!!"

Bah! It matters not! Seeing the Solastemia's reaction is first in my priorities!

I continue on my way to the once bustling streets which are now empty and quiet. Hmm, if I have to guess... I may have perhaps! committed genocide upon all of Galan's citizens except the maid and butlers within the manor.

Oh well! All of the deceased shopkeeper's items belongs to none other than me now I suppose! Oh! This would also mean the alchemist shops ingredients are free for the taking! This is the best day ever HAHA!

I look around the streets to see many puddles made of flesh and meat present. Some of the puddles were slowly going down the drain into the city's gutter and some were being eaten by insects such as ants, cockroaches, and the like.

I truly pity them, although they are puddles, they are actually still alive and conscious. However! Since their mouths and organs they use to talk were now nothing but puddles of mush, they cannot truly express the pain they are feeling which is through screaming their lungs out.

I move onto one of the puddles that are present everywhere on the street and simply observe the sunlight's effects on it. Nothing particularly interesting happened for the past hour or so other than it slowly becoming solid which in turn, turns into a slab?

No, a pile of misshapen flesh. What's disgusting is when it's done solidifying, it is able to move its eyeballs.

Even as an undead I feel slightly disturbed by its movements, however! As an undead! I quickly became used to it.

"Hmm, I suppose they could be of use in thickening and repairing the bodies of damaged undead" I muttered.

I do not think they have any further uses other than materials, however... I wonder on what would happen if I were to have a massive tank of water filled with them?

Would it solidify even though it is made of the bodies of many different races and people and turn into an abomination? Or would it not fuse with the others but rather solidify only their parts of the body?

So many questions yet so little time...

Adventurers from other cities will surely come here sooner or later, worst case scenario, the Knights might be the ones coming.

I estimate I have around 3-4 days before I see the first adventurer or knight coming here, I will need to do my research on Solastemia more efficiently if I do not want a quest paper with my name on it.

I leave the slab of flesh and embark my way to the nearest alchemist shop. Hopefully, all of them had also turned into puddles.

°°°°

After a few hours of walking, I begin to realize... That I have not the slightest clue on where the nearest alchemist shop is, In other words! I'm lost!

"Blast! I'm wasting time! If only there's a way to- wait... HAHA! THAT'S IT!" I shouted in happiness of my ingenious mind. Why search endlessly if you can let others do it for you!

"ROBERTO!!!" I shouted with all of my skeletal vigor. Soon after I feel the ground beginning to tremble or shake followed by a sound of loud footsteps coming from the alleys of the city.

From the alleys a swarm of undead rabbits with tattered skin and bloodied fur appear and surround me. In the middle of all the swarm, there was a large rabbit with a height of around 80 centimeters in height sitting in the middle of the other small rabbits.

Its body was fat, furry, and all in all adorable!

Its white fur, stained by blood, its eyes were as green as an emerald, and on its mouth there was a piece of what seems to be a ripped open flesh slab with the eyes screaming for help from the rabbits painful nibbling.

"AH! Roberto!"

"*Peko*"

"I want you and your family to search for an Alchemist shop! After that, you must lead me to where it is!"

Immediately after hearing my command, they all disperse and go their separate ways in search of the nearest alchemist shop, however, it might take them quite a while before finding one.

"I suppose I can use this time to see if these slabs follow my commands or not" I said as I stare at bloodied one left on the ground by roberto.

"Rise" I said with a commanding tone.

Small and slender tendrils sprout out of the Slab's injured body and they push themselves against the ground the beneath them, making them somewhat standing like either a spider or a anemone.

"Interesting, Well I suppose every slab here are under my command since the reason they turn out to be this way is due to the Solastemia they drank within their water"

I rest behind my back and casually walk down the street as I repeatedly muttered the word "rise" as I pass each slab, making each every one of them to rose up from the ground and follow.

Since they all can create these sort of tendrils made of the amalgamation of flesh and organs from their body, I wonder if they are able to... Fuse themselves together, having more servants that are capable specifically for combat would indeed be wonderful, however, having some that specialize in other work such as brewing and crafting would also be great.

I suppose I should take back on what I had said about them only being useful for materials, I must take notes on this new found discovery.

Busy scribbling in my notes while continuing to mutter the word "rise" as I am,  I have completely forgotten about the flesh slabs that were rising up from the ground, soon after I have amassed an army of around 400 flesh slabs or so following me without me realizing it!

For I was so invested in scribbling down my discovery I forgot they exist!

"And... That should conclude my recent discovery!" I joyfully exclaim as I feel a sudden tremble on the ground as I walk.

I looked around to find nothing until I finally look back to see the army of flesh slabs, Dear Null... I am going to have quite the bit of fun it seems!

But first! I must replenish my ingredients from the Alchemist shops!
