Trophonia Tergeo: Origin

It was a cold winter evening in the city. The City of Angels. Raziel was making his way back from the lower part of town, from one of the floating islands surrounding the mainland of the City. He stopped every few minutes to make sure that the little girl he found in an alley, what did she say her name was? Trophonia, was following him.

When they came to the main part of town, he headed straight to the head offices to register her in the books, as he'd never seen her before, and the name didn't ring a bell.

They went straight in through the main doors, Raziel said a few words to the secretary and she wrote a memo to save an appointment for them. They then walked back out of the building, heading for the Academy and Raziel's general office building.

When they reached the entrance, instead of taking his usual left to the office corridor, he went straight ahead to the Academy corridors. They walked in silence for a bit, Trophonia looking around her, trying to take in her surroundings. Eventually, they came to a stop in front of a middle-sized door. As Raziel searched for the correct key, Trophonia read the tag on the door. The golden nametag read, 'Potential mission squad'. What the hell. Raziel found the right key, and he opened the door.

"You ready to meet the the other kids?" Raziel turned to the girl beside him. She nodded, and he led her inside.

Inside the room was a small group of kids, maybe 10-12 years old, all around Trophonia's age. In the middle of the room there were a few kids playing around with wooden figurines. In a corner on a bunch of pillows were two others, one reading and the other staring into nothingness.

Raziel cleared his throat, immediately gaining their attention.

"Right kids, this is Trophonia, she'll be joining this group from now on."

Raziel turned to Trophonia once more, introducing the kids one at a time.

"These kids are all here for a reason, the same reason you are here. They're all, well, nearly all orphans. The redhead is Cortana, her parents died in a collapsing building in a demon attack two years ago, that's why she's here. The other girl is Eliza, her parents died in the same demon attack as Cortana's." Raziel paused. "The raven-haired boy in the corner is Azriel, and the one beside him is Lucifer. Azriel's parents died in an assault on a safehouse down in Araycien. Lucifer's parents straight up disappeared a few years ago. Lastly, is my own son, Athuriel."

Trophonia took a moment to let all the info get into her mind.

Raziel turned away from them, getting out of the room.

"Now behave and have fun. Get to know each other a little. Don't forget to take Troponia with you to classes and show her to her room. I'll check on you later." With a flash and a smile, he was gone.

Trophonia looked away from the door, and to the kids, who were all staring at her, as if they were waiting for her to say or do something.

Cortana stood up, walking over to Trophonia, putting out her hand to welcome her.

Trophonia looked Cortana in the eyes and nodded at her, not wanting physical contact. Trophonia felt Cortana gave off a vibe that made her uncomfortable. She walked past her, and into the corner where the two boys sat in the corner. She ignored Cortana's questions, and sat down beside Lucifer. They didn't comment on it until Azriel looked up from his book.

"Trophonia, right?" he smiled. "Pleased to meet you."
