Whatever it takes

"WHAT DO YOU MEAN TOMORROW IS YOUR LAST CHANCE?!" Fumed a now turning red Theo. He was pissed after I told them the situation I'm in.

It was almost sundown by the time I called everybody and told them the revelation. I was happy that they were concerned and downright pissed by both the principal and the school officials but I was too engulfed by fear and nervousness to focus on my anger and hatred towards them. This is literally the last shot I've got and my last chance to prove to them that I was not enrolled in this secret school by accident. I didn't just spend almost all of my life away from my parents, away from the outside world, only to find out that it was all a mistake. I know I am an Extraordinaire, not just an Elite, I just have to discover my talent first.

"Yep, you heard that right. I only have tomorrow to prove that I am a certified extraordinaire." I said softly, I couldn't help myself to be sad about what's to come. Although I believe that somewhere deep inside me, I know there is an ability I possess, ready for me to be discovered. Unfortunately, I couldn't help myself but think the other possibility, that possibility that I am in fact just an ordinary human being. An Elite, but not an Extraordinaire.

"Then let's get moving. Your special ability won't show itself willingly." Jessie declared as she stood up and dusted off her skirt. She tied her hair and puts on her determined look.

"What are we going to do?" James questioned. He looked intrigued and quite excited.

"We're gonna find out Zion's quirk. Whatever it takes." Jessie grinned.

We waited for everybody to fall asleep, they wanted to experiment on me without any interruptions. Theo being Theo gathered up way too many snacks for us to eat, Jessie listed everything that's gonna happen tonight, while Octavia and James gathered everything they needed for their little experiment. I was absolutely terrified, Jessie can be cranky sometimes and when she does, she's absolutely a freaking nightmare.

We decided that it would be best to work on finding my ability in the open field, it's spacious enough and is far enough from the dormitories that no noise complaints will be filed against us it was the best option for us.

"Okay, so this is how its gonna be." Theo started to announce the plan. We all gathered up in a circle and quietly listened to him as he tells us what to do.

"First of all, time is very crucial, at this point we only have up to twelve-thirteen hours left before the Hellviana Elite Exams starts." Theo pressured. I saw Octavia opened her phone, suddenly a white flash appeared moments later. Octavia noticed us staring at her and she quickly hid her phone.

"What did you just do just now?" I questioned her.

"Yeah Octavia, I didn't know you can summon light." Jessie chimed in. Octavia, simply just rolled her eyes at us.

"You idiots, I was taking what people call on the outside world, "a selfie"." Octavia explained. We all looked at her, confused.

"What's a "selfie"?" This time it was James the one that asked. We all thought the same question, what is this selfie? Is it dangerous? But before Octavia started to explain. she was immediately cut off by Theo.

"Guys, we don't have time for that. The clock's ticking and we can't control nor stop it, so let's better hurry up." Theo barked. We all hurriedly get back onto listening to his plan, we didn't want Theo to get angry again and create yet another freaky winds out to blow us away.

"You better teach me that "selfie" thing you just did earlier." I heard Jessie said as she and Octavia walk passed by me.

The plan, on which Theo created earlier, was straight to the point. Theo, Jessie, Octavia, and James have an hour to do their respective experiments on me. Each has their own creation to helps me and them to determine my quirk, It's a trial and error processes and I was unfortunately and has to be the lab rat. I just hope I can pull through this experiment and come out of it alive.

"Okay, Zion, let's do this." Theo declared. At this point, I'm already scared as to what kind of experiments they have to do to me.

Jessie was the one that tested me first. She brought in her friend Tyler Scott, one of the most buff guy I have ever seen in my life. She speculated that I have an ability to lift heavy things, basically superhuman strength.

"Your time to shine Tyler." She said. Tyler nodded and effortlessly picked up a whole school bus in the air like it was nothing. My whole mouth dropped while looking at Tyler and immediately thought that no way in heck I'll be able to lift that up.

"Wait!" I tried to stop Tyler but unfortunately, I was too late. Tyler passed the bus towards me and it instantly crushed me, thankfully I was quick enough to lay flat down on the ground. I could've sworn that my whole life flashed before my eyes as that bus came and landed towards on top of me.

"Test number one is a fail, Zion does not have superhuman strength." Jessie said like it was nothing. She thanked Tyler for his help, Tyler nodded and left.

"Umm, HELLO?! I THINK I ALMOST DIED FROM THAT EXPERIMENT?!" I raged in front of them.

"I'm sorry Zi, but it was supposed to happen like that." Jessie stated.

"Let's go, we don't have time. Who's next?" Theo insisted and immediately I was once again engaged to a death-defying experiment. Not that I'm complaining, since I have no right to complain because my friends have exerted so much effort just to help me stay in this stupid fancy school.

If I'm not mistaken, they conducted at least 38 experiments, trial, and errors, tests, and examinations. I was thrown into a tank filled with water to see if I can breathe underwater, ran in a treadmill that was cranked to the highest speed possible to see if my quirk is superspeed, Jessie threw some of the biggest boulders I have ever seen and chucked it towards me to see if I can somehow control those big-ass boulders, Theo launched me up in the air to see if I can fly, Octavia fires a gun at me in hopes that I can control the rapidly fast-moving bullets and James and I played a game called "The floor is lava" but the floor is literally lava. Unfortunately, none of those tests worked, I still don't know what makes me special, and at this point, I gave up on the idea of me staying in Hellviana for the Elite and Extraordinaire.

"Guys this is hopeless." I said in defeat, it's almost two in the morning and I can already see the sky slowly lighting up.

"No, Zion, we still have time. You can't give up now." James tried to motivate me but I was already consumed by the reality and possibility of me not having any quirk at all.

"Theo? What are going to do?" Octavia asked Theo who was sitting on the ground. He suddenly looked up and smiled.

"I have an idea." He said as he stood up and dusted off his butt. We all hurried and gathered around him.

"What is it, Theo? Come on, don't be shy. Spill!" Jessie chirped.

Theo took a deep breath and said, "This plan might fail and we might get in trouble but it's worth trying."

"But maybe, instead of rushing to discover Zion's ability. Why not we just give up and take that exam?" Zion explained.

"WHAT?! Are you out of your mind? So we're gonna let OUR friend fail that exam and watch him leave the school instead?!" Jessie snapped.

"You didn't let me finish." Theo replied.

"I was trying to say we'll help Zion pass that test." He added.

"How are we going to do that?" James wondered.

"We will trick them to believe that ZIon discovered his ability. They'll see that Zion is an Extraordinaire after all and will let him stay in Hellviana." Theo explained in confidence.

"And we'll live happily ever after." He added.
