Chapter Two

The sun was slowly fading, its almost time. I've been in my room all day with Julia. I spent the most time that I could with her. I could have stayed here and get married to Jake, but I don't want to do so. For once in my life, I want to do what I really want. I want to live like a normal person. I then heard Julia speak which brought me out of my thoughts.

"You should wear a vest or you will be cold."

"Yes I will do not worry, I should go now before it gets too dark," I said with a sad tone.

I then put on a grey vest and took my bag. I got to my window and turned around to face my sister.

"Come here I want a hug," I said to her.

She almost ran to me and hugged me really tight.

"Stay safe." She told me.

"I will don't worry."

She then took my hand and placed her necklace in my palm. I did the same with mine. We hugged each other one last time before I jump through my window. I ran as fast as I could toward the forest.

After a few minutes, I stopped to breathe. Gosh, I really don't have cardio. I took a bottle of water from my bang and took a sip before starting walking. I then saw a light coming from a few meters away. With no hesitation, I walked toward it wondering what could it be. What if it's a fire, gosh it was could I wish it to be a fire. Or what if it's a party? It would be good to get some food from it.

As I continued imagining scenarios in my head I was getting closer to it until I finally arrived. There was a fire with a few people sitting beside it while speaking. As I got closer to them i wood cracking sound was heard. Great, I had walked on a branch. All of them then turned their head toward me.

"Hey, are you lost or something?" A girl with dark brown hair asked me.

I cannot tell them that I've just run away I cannot tell anyone.

"Ah yeah... A car scared my dog and he ran into the forest. So I ran after him but I got lost..." I told them.

"Oh, my name is Emily. Come sit with us." The same girl from later said.

They were all sitting on a tree trunk. Don't they have chairs? I thought before sitting beside Emily.

"My name is Kim."

"Well it is a pleasure meeting you Kim, this is Mark." She said while pointing to the guy beside her.

He had blond long hair and green eyes.

"And this dumbass right here is my brother, Taeo." She told me.

"I am smarter than you so watch it." He told her.

As he spoke my eyes looked at him. He had short brown hair with dark blue eyes. He was so handsome that I forgot to ask what dumbass means. He then turned his head towards me making eye contact. I immediately looked away feeling shy. I tried to change my mind in order to not look at him again.

"You want some marshmallows?" Emily asked me.

"What is a marshmallow?" I asked her.

They all looked at me with a surprised face. Mark was the first to speak.

"What do you mean what is a marshmallow? Everyone knows what a marshmallow is. Do you come from another planet or something?"

"Umm no I-I come from this planet. I just come from a very poor family."

"Oh then here taste it it's very good," Emily said as she handed me a white squishy thing in form of a cylinder.

I hesitantly put it in my mouth and start chewing it. A weird sweet taste was in my mouth.

"Whoa, that is really good! It tastes like a cloud!" I said with a big smile on my face.

They laughed a little at my comment. And that's how we spent hours speaking and getting to know each other. But good things always come to an end.

"We should go sleep it's getting late," Mark said letting a yawn escape from his mouth.

"Shouldn't we help Kim find her way first?" said Emily.

It was then Tae's turn to answer, "It's too dark to walk around we will end up getting lost. She will need to spend the night with us and we can help her tomorrow."

I was happy to spend more time with them but I was still sad and aware that I couldn't stay with them. Right?

"Let's go sleep then," Emily said breaking the silence.

"You guys go I need to make sure the fire lights out first," said Taeo.

"Okay then, good night Taeo," said Mark before walking entering in a small tent.

Emily turned to me and asked, "Are you coming Kim?"

"Oh I am not very tired so I will stay here with Taeo."

"Okay, good night then," she said as she walked into the tent at her turn.

As soon as she disappeared Taeo asked me.

"You aren't from here aren't you?"

"What do you mean yes I come from here."

"No native people speak like you. So don't try and lie to me."

"Excuse you but I can provide you the evidence that I was born and raised around here,"

I answered him a bit mad that he assumed that I am lying. I mean I had lie but not about that.

"Then what are you a princess?" He said making fun of me.

My expression immediately changed, what if he finds out what will happen? He saw my reaction and spoke to me very seriously this time.

"You're a princess? From the Rose palace?"

"I-I, just please don't tell anyone!" I begged him.

He looked very surprised. Well, who would think of meeting the princess in the woods?

"Then what are you doing here?"

I let out a sight before answering him.

"I ran away, father wanted me to marry a young man named Jake. So I ran away."

"Oh," he said not knowing what to answer me.

However, on the other hand, I was getting really emotional and I couldn't help myself but continue.

"I just wish she will be fine. Father will want to kill her..." I said letting a tear fall.

"I did not want her to come or else she could have been in danger but I've made it worst. How could I leave my sister... I'm the worst."

At this point, I was a crying mess. I tried to stop crying but I couldn't. I then felt a pair of arms around me and a comforting voice spoke.

"Hey it's okay she's gonna be fine. And you aren't the worst you did the best for her okay?"

"Yeah maybe.."

Taeo held me tighter and let me cry in his arms. Unfortunately, I couldn't stop crying and I eventually passed out.
