Boot camp (3)

Jasper pulled the bucket of water to the top of the well and set the bucket next to the well before getting a drink of water. He didn't drink much water before he went back over Thomas to continue their sparing. He nodded to Thomas to indicate he was ready.

Thomas nodded, "Come and attack." Jasper nodded, "yes sir!"

Jasper attacked swiftly having gotten his second wind. He punched out being blocked but he followed up with a kick to Thomas's ankle to make him stumble. He only managed to make him shift his stance. He frowned before attacking again throwing a punch at his jaw but again it was blocked.

Jasper backed off a moment before attacking again aiming for Thomas's gut but once it was blocked he threw another punch only to end up flat on his back. It took him a moment to realize he had been punched when he threw his punch Thomas had thrown his own. It then took him another moment before he felt the pain from his chest.

He groaned from the pain before getting to his feet, stumbling some. He looked at Thomas who had a curious and smug look on his face. He stabilized his footing before grinning. He hadn't had this much fun in a long time. He wanted to continue fighting.

Thomas spoke, "Take a moment there." Jasper shook his head, "no, lets keep going." Thomas nodded, "very well. Bring it."

Jasper attacked throwing a punch swiftly only to have it blocked. He was going to throw another but was kicked down. He got up and attacked again grinning. He attacked again and again only to get knocked down. He kept at it until even Thomas was looking at him with awe.

Jasper was being just like an unkillable roach as every time he got knocked down or punch he would just get right back up. He never stayed down long. He was also constantly improving to where he was starting to dodge a few punches.

Finally Thomas called out, "Hold! Enough we are done for the day." Jasper dropped onto his back painting covered in sweat, "I.. don't.. think.. I.. can.. get.. up…" Thomas looked at Jasper, "it's a wonder. I've never met someone like you who has learned to fight as fast as you. If only your physical limits didn't hinder your ability to fight. If you had more strength and stamina you wouldn't need any help beating me after a bit."

Jasper caught his breath and smiled, "maybe but I had fun" Thomas looked at him surprised, "You had fun? You were getting your ass handed to you." Jasper grinned, wiping the sweat from his eyes, "I know." Thomas smiled and shook his head, "you are a strange one."

Jasper lay on the ground for a bit before forcing himself to stand up. His legs felt like jello and he was shaking all over from muscle fatigue. He looked like even the smallest wind would knock him over but he continued to smile. He looked at Thomas who nodded in approval. Jasper nodded and looked at him as Thomas waved him to follow and took him back to his tent.

Jasper walked his legs shaking badly but refused to fall or stumble. He was not going to stop until he was done for the day and only then would he rest for the night and go again. He was going to push himself until he literally dropped from exhaustion.

They made it to his tent and Thomas spoke, "go on in and get some rest." Jasper shook his head, "I want to keep going sir." Thomas looked at him and spoke, "you need to clean your tent private." Jasper nodded, "yes sir."

Jasper walked into his tent and found a bed and foot locker had been placed in his tent. The bed was unmade and his clothes he brought on the bed as well as the uniform for the army. It was a blue camo uniform that made him think of his own eyes. He smiled slightly before going over and started to put everything away.

He then made his bed. In his previous life he had never allowed another in his room so had always done his own cleaning in his room. Although there were a few exceptions when he wasn't home or away he would allow others in his room. This was due to him not trusting anyone to not try and kill him. It also let him remember where he started from.

He soon finished and lay on the bed closing his eyes for a moment of rest to regain some of his strength. He lay there for a while before getting up and sighed rubbing his face. He shouldn't push himself so much but he needed to. He was too close to entering a battlefield and he was too weak. If he didn't push himself to his limits he would fall and be killed before he could try anything. He couldn't allow himself to be killed before he had some fun.

He stood up before leaving his tent and looked around and noticed Thomas, Jeff and Ryan talking not too far away. He walked over to them and greeted them. Thomas looked at him then Jeff and Ryan. He looked ready to ask something but after a moment didn't speak.

He wanted to kill at least once more before he had to die in this world. He wanted to feel the blood of someone he killed and watch the light fade from their eyes. He couldn't let that happen until he had some fun. He had to have more fun before he had to die in this world.

There were also so many new things to learn. In his old world there had been nothing new to learn unless it was new itself. Although the human heart could be fickle and he could watch as others failed in what they wanted or such he had nothing fun to play with. He wanted some fun and this was the chance he got for new fun things.

There were weapons he had never seen before in his previous world called guns. There was also electricity, and other such fascinating things. He had loved it when he had first used a phone in this world to look things up. Although some things you couldn't look up.

He also found the language intriguing. It wasn't like his previous lifes. If not for the memories for the previous owner he would have never been able to read or write even one word. Although he could understand the speaking language somewhat he wouldn't be as fluent as he is due to the memories.

He just found this world so fascinating. It was so unlike his previous world of fire candles for light and basic bladed weapons. None of it was like his previous world. He loved each new thing he saw for himself for the first time since he awoke in this world. He may have had the memories of the previous owner and knew what everything was mostly; he still enjoyed the joy of finding something new.
