DURGA

Durga, by hearing this name we get a warmth within ourselves, especially girls. Durga is not only an almighty God but also an overwhelming power inside all women and girls.

Her ten hands which in bengali specifically termed as DOSHOBHUJA. In the idols we see Goddess Durga have ten hands and in that ten hands she clutches ten different weapons.

All the weapons in her hands are not for fighting, some are for symbol of peace. It symbolises that Goddess Durga is very charming and at the moment she can become very destructive .

We can understand it by her different phases .

As we know Goddess Kali, she is a symbolic of anger and aggression.

There are many epithets for Durga in Shaktism and her nine appellations are (Navadurga): Shailaputri, Brahmacharini, Chandraghanta, Kushmanda, Skandamata, Katyayini, Kaalratri, Mahagauri and Siddhidatri.

So, we can figure out that every women has Goddess Durga in them and we should respect them to the fullest.
