The similar shiver

It's almost 8:00 at night right now.

We were still on the way to my new home.

It was Dominic's call back then. He was shouting at Dylan for still not reaching the home. It happened to be that he reached home before us and was surprised to not find us there, as we started before him.

"I am in deep trouble..." It's the 4th time he murmured that after the call he received from Dominic a while ago.

I chuckled at him.

"Don't worry. What's the worst could happen. He will starve you? Ground you? Lock you in your room? That's all.. nothing hard." I joked.

"Thank you for the kind words, doll. You helped a lot." He said sarcastically with a roll of eyes.

I laughed at that.

I left him alone after that.

I got very comfortable around him after our little outburst. Maybe the way he comforted me or his caring and easy going nature is the reason.

'Or maybe he is really your real brother.' A voice from the back of my head tried to say that but I blocked it immediately. It will just mess with my sanity.

Whatever it was, one thing was sure that I liked him. More than Dominic.

On the way to my new home I got to know some more things about the family.

Like there are a lot of twins and triplets in the family. That makes sense as to why they have this huge population, I guess..

I don't know why but I didn't ask him about their parents. Maybe I don't want to make it awkward or I don't want to know.

Then I asked him if there's going to be any more brother of his at the house other than him and Dominic. You know I need to be prepared.

He said, I quote.

'Yes, you will find some more brothers at home, not cousin brothers. I am not going to tell you how many. It's a surprise.' Then he winked at me.

Well, generally I love surprises. But I don't know why, I am not getting a good feeling about this one. You see, my instincts are always right.

I asked them if anyone else stayed at the house apart from the brothers. He frowned at that question. It was like he didn't like the answer he was going to give me. He said apart from the brothers no one stayed with them.

That means either his parents don't stay with them or they are no more.

That means..

Suddenly a voice brought me back from my thinking world.

"We reached, doll."

I nodded and looked outside the window.

"Holy duck!" I gasped in shock.

He chuckled while getting out of the car. He swiftly reached my side and helped me to come out.

In front of me was a huge mansion. Like it was huge. Like, like some… palace? I don't even have any word to describe it. And it was very beautiful and well maintained also.

Dylan held my hand and pulled me inside through the main gate. There were guards who saluted him but he just ignored them and threw them the car keys. When the guards looked at me, their eyes widened. I just gave them a small smile and a polite nod. But they were still in shock to react.

What's so shocking?

There was a huge pathway filled with flowers. And there's a beautiful fountain in the middle of the pathway dividing it into two. One led to the door of the mansion and one led to the garage.

I was looking at everything with astonishment. I really liked the fountain. There's a well maintained, beautiful garden also that I would like to explore if I stay here.

We reached the door. He muttered some prayers and took deep breaths before pressing the bell. The door was opened immediately by a very angry Dominic.

Dominic was going to shout at him. But he interrupted him.

"You won't believe bro! Our Grace doesn't curse. Isn't that cute?" Dylan gushed in one breath making me look at him in shock.

What a poor attempt to escape the wrath by embarrassing me!

Way to go, Dylan!

Dominic was still glaring at him though I saw the corner of his eyes twitch a little. Then I thought to help Dylan. Poor guy was sweating badly.

"Hello, Dominic." I greeted him. I was wondering if he's still upset with our previous conversation.

He turned to me but didn't give me a smile as I was expecting. Guess he was still upset about that or he was angry because we reached late.

"Hello, Grace. What took you so long?" He asked directly to the point without any emotion.

"Hey, Dylan, till the time I tell Dominic the reason for our late arrival, can you please bring my backpack from the car? I left it there." I asked politely.

"Of course. Of course, I will bring it. Haha." He said while chuckling nervously.

I wink at him and his eyes widened.

He was more than ready to do that. He ran from there to escape Dominic as soon as he got my hint.

I chuckled at his antics. Dominic sighed at his brother. Maybe he was used to his younger brother's behaviour.

"What took you so long, Grace?" He asked again.

I looked up at him as he was really taller than me.

"We stopped in the middle to get.. uhh.. a little more comfortable with each other." I answered with a little hesitation as I didn't know how to explain what took us so long.

"Was it fruitful?" He asked while raising his eyebrows.

"Yeah, I guess." I nodded to confirm my statement.

He nodded back. Then offered me a smile like he wasn't angry a minute before.

How can he change his expressions in a split of a second?

"Come inside, princess." He held my hand and pulled me inside.

What's this with the Winchester brothers and their habits of holding my hands? They had done this more than anyone ever did in my life till now. It's not like I mind though..

He pulled me inside the living room. A huge living room to be more exact.

No surprise there.

Rich people..

The room was as usual with a big screen TV, expensive sofa set, tea table and showcases for decoration, paintings and a big logo of 'Winchesters'.

Wow, it looks like they are pretty obsessed with their surname. Otherwise who puts a big logo of their surname on their house?

Suddenly Dominic's phone rang catching our attention. I looked at him

"It's an important call. Gotta take it." He said. I nodded at him.

"It's okay." I said and smiled at him.

"Sit here and wait for me. I will be back in a minute after taking this call." He said while pointing at the sofa.

"Okay." I said like the obedient kid I am."

Then he tapped on the green icon and received the call and walked somewhere in a corner to talk.

I looked around cautiously while walking till the sofa. I was feeling really awkward. I have been adopted by a rich family once for their benefits. They didn't have any children and they wanted this big contract for the benefit of their company. But the contract mentioned that they needed to adopt a child to gain full access over the contract and they adopted me. The contract was over within 6 months, so was my necessity in their lives so they left me in an orphanage again. They offered me some cash though and I took that happily. Then I gave that money to the orphanage I was living after buying some things I needed for school.

So, what I was saying is I have been in a house of a rich family but never..this rich. And it's a little bit uncomfortable for me. You see I have been living my full life in poverty and suddenly this much luxuriousness is a little bit overwhelming for me.

But I think I will manage as I have been with nine different foster families and that means I got a lot of experience. At least I will manage to blend in with them. I always prepare myself for every situation. Because life's a bitch and you don't know when it will throw shits at you.

So, gotta be prepared.

I was still standing. Silly me. I was going to sit when I heard footsteps to enter the living room. I thought it was brother Dylan. So I spoke up without looking.

"Dylan, bro! I saved your butt. Thank me lat- "

But I stopped in the middle of my word. Because It wasn't Dylan. Instead it was another pair of grey eyes scowling at me.

Well done, Grace! You just managed to embarrass yourself in front of a stranger.

"Who the hell are you? And why are you calling MY brother 'Dylan bro' ?"

Uhh..ohh.. The similar shiver..
