My best friends?

"How do you all know each other?"

We all were sitting in the living room. Extra seats were arranged for the guests to adjust.

By we, I meant me, my foster brothers, my 'attackers', my 'attackers' older siblings. Their parents couldn't join as they have some business to complete.

Everyone was waiting to know how our guests know me. Even Damon seemed curious.

"She is the one who saved us from Robin." Someone answered.

I flinched at the name of Robin..

Yeah, you guessed it right. They are the girls whom I saved two years ago from Robin.

The world is really small,huh?!

"The heck!" It was from brother Damon. Nothing new there. He curses a lot.

All the eyes were on me by the time I looked up. Some of them were looking at me with admiration, some of them with shock. But I was unable to read my foster brothers' expressions.

Their faces were blank. Void of any expression.

"What were you doing there at that time?" The questions were directed at me by Damon. He sounded angry. Well he was always angry. But he sounded disgusted also, so before he could make up some bad scenarios about me in his head. I quickly answered.

"I was adopted by him."

"What?" This time it was Dylan. "Do you know what he does, Grace?" He asked and I nodded hesitantly.

I know it very well. I shuddered remembering all those memories. Someone gave my shoulder a little pat to show support. I looked at my left to see it was Lava. I was sitting on a big couch with the girls that I saved that day.

Lava was the one who clinged by my side all the time that night. And there is also Natasha, she is the one who answered some time back, Erin, I remember her, she is one strong girl, Sarah, she is also very brave and Sofia, she is the quiet and meek one. I remember she was really scared that night.

In front of us were the Winchester brothers. Lava's older sister and Sarah's older twin sisters were sitting at the couch on our left. And Natasha's older brother, Sofia's older brother and Erin's older sister were sitting to our right. They all were around the same age as the Winchester boys.

"Whatever he does, Dylan. I don't find any reason to adopt someone to sell." Erin's older sister stated the fact. Which I think has a point.

"So that means.." It was Natasha's brother who was going to say something but couldn't complete it as Dominic completed that for him.

"He had some motive."

"That our little Grace spoiled miserably." Dylan sounded proud.

"That she did!" Five voices shouted at once from my left and right sides. I had to cover my ears with my hands to save my ears from bleeding.

Geez! They are loud!

"I see, you have a little fan following there, dear Grace."  Lava's sister said that while chuckling. I blushed a little in embarrassment at that. These crazy girls are embarrassing me.

"What kind of motive did he have that he had to go to this extent to adopt this girl?" Damon asked, ignoring the comment passed by Lava's sister.

I ignored his little insult there when he said 'this girl' , like he was going to puke.

"That is what we have to find out. Why did he adopt Grace? Max, call officer Hashting, and ask him about Robin. I want him in two days." Dominic ordered  Sofia's brother, Max, who nodded immediately.

"He is alive!" I spoke out for the first time in since the time they arrived. I was relieved that I wasn't a... murderer.

"Yeah, he is alive. Though the hit was pretty hard." One of Sarah's older sisters said and laughed out loud.

"And he was in a coma for some days before the police arrested him." Again one of them commented and everyone laughed at that, even Damon was smirking at that.

I was now fully red like a tomato in embarrassment. I don't know if they are praising me or mocking me..

"We were really shocked when we found out a 13 years old kid saved our sisters. We thought they were making stories but I guess they weren't." Natasha's older brother said.

"Well, I was just saving myself, they just tagged along." I shrugged.

"Ouch, Grace! You hurt me with your harsh words, dear best friend!" Natasha mocked fake hurt.

I looked at her weirdly.

"From when I am your 'best friend'? " I asked while air quoting the word 'best friends' by fingers.

"From the time you saved us." Erin said while looking at me directly in the eyes.

"From the time you smashed that bottle on his head." Sarah continued.

"From the time you shouted at me saying, 'Can you shut the duck up, for god's sake' when I was crying." Sofia added softly.

I heard someone chuckle at that.

"From the time you lead us through that dark alley to escape." Natasha added.

"From the time you gave me your hand and pulled me up on my feet to and said 'Don't worry, I will not let anything happen to you'." Lava finished.

I looked at all of them for a good two minutes without showing any emotion.

Then I closed my eyes and took deep breaths. Then I looked at them seriously.

"Drama club has always been my least favourite club. So if you all are members of drama clubs, I am sorry we can not be friends." I said them seriously.

Everyone went silent and suddenly all of them started to laugh.

"Gosh! Her humor is just too good!" Natasha's older brother said while laughing clutching his stomach.

All the girls were pouting as I didn't appreciate their long speech. That's what they think. But I actually appreciate it. A lot. They made me feel special which I never felt.

"We are not members of the drama club." Erin mumbled gruffly.

"Well, then you all have a chance." I gave them a bright smile and winked at them.

They immediately tackled me for a hug. This time I hugged them back. I guess I got some real friends. I have a feeling that it's gonna be a great journey with this five beside me.

After the group hug we sat down at our previous seats.

"So Grace, you are gonna live with the Winchesters from now on?" Lava's sister asked and I nodded.

"How do you feel?" Erin's older sister asked.

I shrugged my shoulders as an answer.

"We all heard about the incidents from their points of view. Would you mind telling us your point of view?" Sofia's brother asked while looking at me expectantly.

"Oh, come on, Max! Come out of your cops shoes." Natasha's older brother joked.

Ohh, he's a cop.

"Even I won't mind hearing your point of view, Grace. Would you mind?" It was Dominic. His tone clearly said that he wanted to hear.

"I won't mind, I guess. But it's just that it is the worst experience of my life. He adopted me just the day before that night. He brought me to a new city where they were kept. He said something like, 'who would have thought out of all those people out there, it would be me who got you.' He also said something like, he was gonna make someone regret." I said with a frown.

Now that I think about all this, I can't help but think about all these things from a different side and that leads me to the Winchesters.

I continued.

"Then talked with some people about me. It was like he won some grand prize by adopting me. Then everything was exactly what they said. That time my mind was blank with all things I saw that night but I only knew that's not gonna be my destiny. And when he approached Lava and her grip on me tightened I only knew it's now or never. I smashed the bottle and stood up. Gave them my hands and they accepted without a second thought. And we ran far away. I left them when I thought it was safe. I took a bus for the next city and ended up in a new orphanage." I completed narrating my point of view.

"And I was worried all these years thinking I killed him. It was kind of a relief and also bad news that he is alive." I added at the end in a low voice.

They all were listening to me attentively. My eyes landed on Damon. He was looking at me with some strong emotions that I couldn't read but it was gone in a blink when he saw me looking. He made a blank face and stood up, gaining everyone's attention.

"I am hungry." He announced and went towards the dining table.

Then Dominic led all of us to the dining table putting an end to the conversation. We had our dinner. I talked with the girls, mostly it was them who talked. I got to know that I will be going to the same school as them.

I got to know that Sofia's brother, Erin's sister and Dominic are friends. Natasha's brother, Lava's sister and Damon are friends and they go to the same college. And Dylan, Sarah's older sisters go to the same highschool and they are also friends.

I also got to know that the school I am going to attend has an attached college and that's where Damon and others go.

Just great!

After all the talks, when it was the time for them to go, all the girls threw a fit about it. They wanted to stay the night over with me. But at last when I promised we would spend the next day together and they agreed to leave.

We bid them bye. It was already past 10. I was tired and sleepy. I said my good night to Dylan and Dominic and made my way to my room to sleep.

I changed my dress into a comfortable pajama suit. It was a long day. I pulled the sleeves of my left hand and caressed the scars I have. The reasons for my long-sleeved dresses. Scars.

"So you weren't lying, when you said you had been through the worst?" I quickly pulled my sleeve down.

Damon?
