Chapter 17-Fairy’s tale

Like an arrow in the blue sky

Another day flies

On my pillow, on my table

Yeah, life goes on like this again

"Um... hi Andrew?", my voice an octave higher

"Damn it! I left you alone for a day and you get attacked.", I flinched from his anger but his eyes softened up. "Are you hurt, Quinn."

"She is okay. What a shitty protector you are. Couldn't even detect high ranking demons." Nathan pushed me behind him which seemed to make Andrew take a step closer.

"Last time I checked mismatch, you didn't detect them either, so stop accusing me like you worth something." With every word his eyes had a ferocious intensity as he came closer and closer until he was right in front of us. "Come on Quinn let's go." He grabbed my arm and tried to pull me away, but Nathan wasn't letting him.

"Bad move dude, Nate's angry now.", Xavier called from the sofa he didn't even sound fazed as Xena locked the door with a soft click.

Turning to look at Nathan I noticed two things very wrong, one is eyes went from gold to pitch black, and there were veins surrounding well...everywhere, he looked so unreal I wanted to be scared but I wasn't.

I was having a Bella moment. Damn it twilight is now my life, at this point nothing can shock me now

"Bring it on mismatch.", Andrew said and a blue-ish light covered him his eyes glowing. They both faced each other eye to eye as if they were in some kind of movies scene. I had enough. Now that my hands were free I moved in between them and willed my dagger to appear before me. One hand facing Nathan the other Andrew.

"I have had enough of your masochistic tendencies and quite frankly I'm tired and hungry and would like not to slice my friends into pieces. Now power down or else." I dropped venom into my voice and stared both of them down till Andrew's hue dimmed and Nathan's eyes went back to norma but I could still some of his veins protruding and Andrew's eyes were still glowing. "I said power down completely you idiots."

Xena started laughing really hard, to the point were there were tears streaming down her face. Everyone looked at her with a raised eyebrow. Then she stopped and turned all serious. Looking Nathan and Andrew in the eye she opened her mouth "sit.", was all she said but it was enough the two boys sat down immediately.

"Mind control you gotta love it, I'll teach you sometime Quinn, works on the lesser mind.", Xena said with a wink." Now for you two fools we have more pressing issues than wondering what the heck, got your boxer in a twist. I see we've reached an understanding. Speak."

It was like they were both gasping for air. "You haven't used that trick in a while forgot you had it.", Nathan said with his hands on his knees.

"It comes in handy when you guys are acting like jackasses. Which is quite often."

"Onto pressing issues-." Xavier was cut off my a ping from my back pocket.

Surprised that my phone was still intact after that fiasco I pulled it out and read the message. "Come now, need help." Looking at Andrew straight in the eye. "It's from Fairy."

In no time we were at the hospital, navigating through the corridors the scent of the disinfectants choking me. We got to her room, and we saw Fairy sitting on the floor. Her hair in a tangled mess. She had bags under her eyes that gave her a panda look.

We must have been a comedic sight, two tall domineering boys, a beautiful girl, a boy with steam almost coming his ears and his uniform all over the place and me ruffled like I had been run over by a two tonne truck.

"What happened? Are you okay?", I asked moving closer and sitting criss cross at the Center of the room where Fairy sat.

She shook her head no. "I've been seeing things I know I shouldn't be. It's hard to tell whether it's past or future events. All I know every time I get one of these visions I have an impending sense of doom.", by the time she was done she had tears in her eyes.

"Look maybe what's happening is a result of the demonic activity that's increasing." Xavier pipped up from the doorway.

"We just need to protect you and keep you under constant surveillance." Nathan said

"Don't you dare touch my sister." Andrew said the hue returning.

"This coming from a knight who can't detect demon presence without being told. I get it your a fledgling you're not a full knight. Are you?" Nathan responded his eyes starting to dilate.

"Well I guess the cats out of the bag huh mismatch." Andrew chuckled.

But there was no reply as Nathan, Xena and Xavier took attack position. I couldn't tell until I felt my hairs rising standing up and stepping in front of Fairy I willed my dagger to form a sword.

"What's going on?" Fairy asked. But I guess by our posture Andrew knew exactly what was going on the hue getting brighter and brighter until an exoskeleton of an armour appeared for a brief second

It about to hit the fan

And then something came to the door, a little girl with pigtails. I started to lower my sword but the other didn't.

"You guys she's just a little girl."

"Step away Merdona", Xena said the bracelet on her wrist uncoiling like a whip.

I was confused until she looked at me. Her bright red eyes in full display but it was her sadistic smile that brought terror to my senses.

"It's a shame really, I would love to fight all of you some day, but I'm afraid I'm here for Ms Quinn.", her voice was steady and full of dominance and suddenly she was in front of me examining my attire with distaste on her lips.

"I don't like this setting, let's change it for a bit more fun.", then she snapped her tiny fringes with pink glitter polish at the end.

All of this happened within five seconds, too fast for anyone to react but not too fast that Nathan couldn't grab my hand .
