A School For Monsters?

Amos woke up early and had completed his daily tasks. He heavily panted as he finished the final seconds of his fifty-minute run. A System screen then appeared,

[Rewarded 50 EXP]

[Rewarded 25 EXP]

[Rewarded 50 EXP]

Total EXP [to be earned]: 125+5 bonus

Current Level : [ 4 / 10,000 ]

Current EXP : [ 252 / 600 ]

He was unpleased with his slow advancement of strength, 'Only 252 exp out of 600?'

Sweat dripped from his chin, "Atterunumn!"

The blue figure then appeared, "What is it this time?"

Amos sat, "Why am I leveling up this slowly?"

The Assistant answered, "You fool, daily exercises should be the easiest thing you do daily. There are hundreds of more ways you can obtain EXP faster, like, dungeons raids, tower raids, ordinary raids, terminating monsters, compulsory training, fighting, Guild raids, challenges, special missions. Then again, the system gives more challenging daily tasks per level gained, which translates to more EXP fairly rewarded for each daily task done. So hurry up and level up already!"

The assistant left.

'Raids and stuff, huh?'

Amos rested for a while, then he took a cold shower, changed into the school uniform given to him by Liang, and he waited outside for Liang to arrive. About ten minutes later, Liang came.

"Good morning, Amos. Up early again I see... Come with me, I'll take you to school."

Liang then flew to the Academy with Amos on his back and they reached there in ten minutes. Monster Academy was established by the creators of the Monsters' Rights Policy, and it was created for monsters, mainly Demihumans, to take the opportunity to fairly obtain an education like the others. It was located on the outskirts of Monster Town, which was the place where Catra's Village of Villainy was located.

Liang slowly landed, "We're here!"

Amos hopped off his back.

Liang then turned around and observed Amos' appearance, "Ohh my, your hair must've gotten messy when we were rocketing through the clouds. Here, let me fix it, " Liang tried to fix Amos' hair with his hands, "Hmmm, your hair, were the edges always black?"

"No, my hair is fully blonde."

"Not what my eyes are seeing, the edges of your hair are partially black."

He then finished fixing Amos' hair, "There we go, all fixed! You can't look appealing to the girls when you're all messy, can you now? You must maintain hygiene as well as a clean appearance, remember this, even if you are not trying to impress girls. I mean you recently dark-gloomed, so all love is lost, but yeah..."

Amos looked at the Academy.

It was a bit dark for a school. With tall walls with the black paint peeling off, a few broken windows, morning school fights, huge rooms, and monstrous beings. It was a peculiar school, quite different from the schools on Earth. Were the students there to learn science and other subjects, or were they there to bash faces and cast powerful nerve-wrecking spells?

"Well, " Liang stretched, "I must return to our Queens now, so have a nice day. I'll be waiting after school for you. Try to avoid trouble, because apparently trouble likes you. Also, Chizuko, Sasuki, Joseph, and Arley are all young students in this school. I've told them to keep a close eye on you. Have a nice day, " he flew off.

Amos sat there on a wooden bench scrutinizing the school's appearance from the outside. He had not yet entered the school's compound.

'A school for monsters? This is a first. I wonder how this works out. I just care about becoming stronger that's all, I need to—

"Good day, student!"

Amos turned around and saw a tall man in a formal suit, perhaps a teacher.

"Your face, I haven't seen you around here at all, are you new?"

"Yes."

"Ohh, nice! What are you waiting for, don't be shy, " he bent over and looked at Amos, "In monster academy, you must not display weakness. You'd be opening a door inviting everyone in to take advantage of you. So, get up and be brave, let's go, I'll take you in, " he smiled.

The teacher took Amos to the school.

The students all stared at him and started murmuring, but Amos tried his best to ignore them. The race he constantly landed his eyes on, was new to him — Demihumans. They could have been classified as humans if it weren't for their few minor monstrosities, for example, fox ears, sharp teeth, some owned tails, most could have turned into full transformations of creatures, and a few more. Thinking carefully, the creatures reminded Amos of Nataly Namero, who also had a few minor monstrosities, such as her bat wings. But was she a Demihuman?

As the teacher took Amos to the principal's office, another student with black messy hair covering his eyes bumped into Amos, causing him to fall. The teacher stopped and helped Amos up as the student maliciously smirked and carried on. For Amos, the student had a distinctive smell from the rest, and Amos had not realized that the student had done it to curse him.

The teacher looked at Amos' face expecting to see irritation from the student's deliberate act, but he was merely surprised with an empty facial expression. He then continued walking and Amos followed him. They took the stairs to the first floor, walking along the long marginally dark corridor, and stopped at a white door entitled 'Try Not To Lose Your Head In Here — P.S, your principal'. The texts were in bold red. Is it the warning of a Bizzare Monster? Or was it the doing of a pesky villainous student?

The teacher held the door handle, and with the support of his other hand, he walked as he pulled the door backward. He then fixed his glasses as he walked inside.

The teacher stopped when he was a few centimeters away from the interior of the office, "Morning, this must be the new student, I'm letting him in, " he then turned around, stepped aside, and awaited Amos' gait to the entrance. Amos looked at him as he shook his head, up and down, and he entered.

As Amos entered the room, there was a cold sensation that darted through his pours. He then saw a man in a formal-suit sitting at a metal desk. As he had extrapolated, this man was none other than the principal himself. He seemed to be in his late sixty's, but his bulky arms and fit body separated him from the other seniors Amos knew. He also had perceptible tall red horns that seemingly came out of his skull, and he seemed to be a smoker, and judging from his stern facial expression, he seemed to be a grumpy figure.

"Sit!" he said with a heart-thumping snarl, that was capable of making a cat jump six meters.

Amos walked up to the glossy black chair in front of him and sat down on it, as he commenced giving the principal his undivided attention, with a serious face as well.

"Where, " the principal said as he blew smoke out of his mouth and into Amos' face, "Where are you from?"

"Gropsvi—

"I WANT THE TRUTH!"

"On the outskirts of Gropsville Village, sir."

He gave the cigarette back to his lips, "Your Monstrosity?"

"N-none...."

"Then why are you here? Interested in Villainy?"

"No..."

"Then, get out!"

Sir Johnson then appeared from thin air, "Sir look at his Stats..."

The principal then started using 'Observation; Third Eye' on Amos. Amos got out of his seat and was prepared to leave, "Sit, " instructed the principal, he blew smoke out of his mouth, "is it true?"

"What, sir?"

"Mana Level Infinite? Spiritual Energy Infinite?"

"I can absorb any type of Mana, " Amos looked at Sir Johnson, "including Dark Mana, " he returned his attention to the principal.

"And where did you obtain such power?"

"I...don't know."

He looked at Amos again, "Generational, Purchased, bestowed, stolen, or born-with?"

"None."

The principal put the cigarette at the left corner of his mouth as he glanced at Sir Johnson, "Your dream profession?"

"Haven't decided."

"Your goal?"

"I don't think I have one yet."

The principal smirked, "Have you ever murdered someone?"

Another strange sensation then a hole through Amos' brain. The sensation took more of a dark nostalgic approach. His eyes widened as he warped into a flashback, and his hearth kept crashing into his chest. He kept seeing a face, but he could not have remembered who it belonged to. Though having a vague or somewhat nonexistent memory of the face, it seemed like a familiar anomaly. Up to this very moment, only Suzy knows that Amos has forgotten most of his past after dark-glooming or even days before that.

He was then transmigrated by his mentality to an oddly intimate room. His heart had seemingly bought a turbo engine and at bolting speed surpassed its prior heart-rate. Considerably, he was not scared at all, he rested his hand on his upper torso and squeezed his thin fingers into his chest. He could not have stopped the jack-hammering that was occurring in the interior of his body.

Given his current state, he would have gotten a heart attack at any arbitrary interval. But the question is, "Why?" He asked himself, "What is happening to me? That face...who the hell is it?"

Then suddenly the room was filled with warm blood, and he was being drowned by it as he got constant zero-percent lucid images in his mind of that exact face. Then he continuously kicked his feet as his lungs filled with the fresh blood. As he squirmed around due to the lack of oxygen, strange hands violently held his head on the opposite sides, and then "Snap!" He flew up.

Was it the sound of his neck breaking?

Or was it the principal's snapping fingers?

The principal snapped his fingers again, "Well?"

Amos put down his head, "I don't know..."

He stood, "Then, Welcome to Monster Academy 1!"
