Ash, Pikachu and Brock have finally made it to Celadon City following the mysterious letters, they are in the search for The Champion with Ash's old hat.
"So where should we look first?" Ash asks Brock searching around the city for any clues, "I think we should just walk around and see if we can find anything, the Champion might not be here yet remember," Brock tells Ash, the three of them start walking around the city, they walk into shops, cafe's the Pokemon Centre, Brock and Ash split up to cover more ground but still no mention of the Champion from Celadon City. "Any luck Brock?" Ash yells out running up to Brock, "No not yet, haven't even seen a sign or heard people talking about it." Brock says a little disappointed, "Do you think there is another Celadon City?" Ash asks looking up into the sky contemplating, Brock stairs blankly at Ash wondering what is he talking about, "No I'm pretty sure Kanto has only one Celadon City, we should go to Susie's massage Parlour and see if she's heard or seen anything." Ash nods his head at Brock's proposal, the three of them walk off to Susie's massage Parlour.
"Susie!" Brock shouts across the street, Susie looks up brushing her long indigo hair away from her brown eyes, she sees Brock and Ash waving at her while they cross the street. "Brock, Ash!" Susie shouts walking a little closer to them, Brock stairs lovingly at Susie her light grey doctor like jacket comes just past her hips meeting her white legging type jeans, "It's been so long, what are you guys doing in Celadon City?" Susie asked with a smile across her face, "Well."
*hsssssssss
Brock's head is covered in a blazing fire, his face burnt, he looks around at where the flamethrower came from, he sees a majestic shiny, bright yellowed coloured Ninetails, Brock looks at the Ninetails knowing he knows this Pokemon then it clicks "Vulpix" Brock says joyously, "Ninetails!" Ninetails smiles and wags it's nine tails, "oh I'm glad," Susie says, "I hoped Ninetails would remember you, she evolved not too long ago" Brock kneels down a little and pats Ninetails, "It's fur is so soft, you've done a really good job looking after her Susie" Brock smiles turning his head to Susie, "We got sidetracked, come on in to my shop and sit down, I'll get you two something to drink and eat and Pikachu how about I give you a massage," Susie smiles patting Pikachu on the head, "Pika" Pikachu purring with Susie patting him.
Pikachu lying on his back on a small massage table with a content smile across his little yellow face, Ash scoffing up a biscuit, "Must you always be so messy when you eat!" Brock whispers to Ash angrily, Ash looks up about to talk but Brock puts his hand up and shakes his head. "How does that feel Pikachu?" Susie asks massaging Pikachu's cheeks "Pika" Pikachu drifting off to sleep, "Tell me, Brock, last I heard you had made a Pokemon Village is that true?" Susie turning to Brock interested, "yeah that's true" Brock says a little surprised, "I'm surprised that word of my village had made it all the way to Celadon City" Susie smiles at her old friend, "I've had a couple of trainers come by my shop and tell me about a guy that helped their Pokemon when they were sick or weak and from their description, I knew it was you" Brock smiles proudly knowing what he did made a difference even if it was only for a couple of trainers he still made a difference. "does that feel good Pikachu?" Ash stands up walking over to his Pokemon and smiling, "Pikachu" Susie finishes the massage with Pikachu standing up smiling gratefully at Susie. "I'm glad that felt good Pikachu, so why are you three here?" Susie still wondering why they are here, "You see Susie, I've been getting these letters and we are supposed to find the Champion of Celadon City," Ash explains to Susie handing her the letter, "this letter seems very old how long have you been trying to find the Champion of Celadon City?" Susie asks studying the letter, Brock stands up from the chair joining the other two next to the massage table, "We only got the letter a couple of days ago," Brock tells Susie, "I believe I may be able to help you Ash" Susie smiles, "Really!" Ash getting louder with joy, Susie sits down next to the table, Ash and Brock join her sitting in the two empty seats, Pikachu jumping off the massage table and running over to Ninetails to play.
"You see Ash, the Champion of Celadon City indicates the return of the P1 championships, the P1 Championships are held all around Kanto and the last time it was in Celadon City was four years ago where the raining champion became the champion," Susie explaining to Ash who looks on eagerly, "so its a Pokemon?" Ash asks, Brock looks at Ash shocked that he has no idea, "Yeah, the P1 Champion is a strong Pokemon," Susie replies, "does this Pokemon have a trainer?" Ash asking another question. Brock about to open his mouth at the blank boy but Susie manages to speak before him, "Well not really, he has a personal trainer, the champion is not his Pokemon but he trains it, I can take you to where the Championships are being held if you'd like?" Ash shoots up "Yes!" Susie smiles and giggles, "All right let me get my stuff and we'll head off," "thank you Susie" Ash shouts out as Susie leaves the room.
Susie brings Ash, Pikachu and Brock to the P1 Championship stadium, there is a massive crowd surrounding the stadium, "Just in time" Susie tells them, Brock and Ash stand still and look each other, "how did we not see this before?" they whisper to each other feeling dumb. "I've got to go back to my shop but I hope you find what you are looking for Ash," Susie smiles saying bye to Ash and patting Pikachu, "Brock it's always nice seeing you, take care of yourself all right," Susie walks off waving bye to Ash, Pikachu and Brock, "thank you, Susie," the three boys shout out waving goodbye. "All right let's go see the Champion," Ash shouts out walking arrogantly towards the crowd. Ash has managed to push himself through to the front of the crowd with Pikachu on his shoulder and Brock right behind him, he sees a security guard and walks over to him, "Hey Mister, can we see the Champion?" Ash asks but the security guard points to his ears indicating he can't hear, the crowd is cheering and shouting making it impossible to hear yourself think, Brock pushes Ash back softly and tapes on the security guard shoulder and leans into his ear so he can hear him better, "I'm sorry boys, no one can see the Champion you just have to wait until he passes you," the security guard shouts. Brock and Ash look at each other wondering what to do now but their attention gets grabbed by the crowd getting louder, they look further down the crowd in the open lane blocked off by crowd control barriers, there is a group of people and a Pokemon walking down towards the stadium. "It's the Champion!" "The Champion" the crowd screams, the group comes past Ash and Ash is shocked he knows the Champion, he recognises the hat, "Brock it's him" Ash nudges Brock in the side, "Primeape!" Ash yells out "Pikachu!" Pikachu joining hoping to get his attention, "Primeape it's me!" Ash shouting out again, "Primeape turns and sees his old trainer and friend, he runs towards Ash and picks him up over the barrier and hugs him tight, a little too tight. "It's good to see you too Primeape but I can't breathe," "Pika" Pikachu and Ash telling Primeape to let go, Anthony Primeape's trainer, walks over, "Ash, it's nice to see you again," Anthony smiles, "you three come with me, we're heading off to Primeape's room, join us," Anthony opens the barrier up and lets the three in as they walk past the remaining of the crowd and into the stadium and through to Primeape's room.
Primeape smiling and standing next to Ash, "So did you guys come to see the raining undefeated champion at his homecoming?" Anthony asks sitting down on the couch, Ash pulls out the letter and hands it to Anthony, "We are following these, and it brought us to Celadon City, it brought us to Primeape," Ash turns and pats his old Pokemon, "do you know what it's telling Ash to do?" Brock asks Anthony who is studying the letter closely, "I believe I do but I don't think Ash can accomplish this," Anthony explains, "what do you mean I can't accomplish it?" Ash getting a little angry, "well from reading the letter, the Challenge of the Champion is that anyone can compete in the Celadon P1 Championships you don't need to qualify anyone can join and if strong enough take on the champion in the Championship fight, that is the Challenge of the Champion, but no one is going to be able to defeat Primeape, hence I don't believe you will accomplish this Ash," Anthony looking Ash in the eyes, Ash stands up but is interrupted by Anthony, "it's a real shame as well," Brock looks at Anthony confused, "what do you mean?" Brock asks, "You see, last year when we where in the last P1 Championship in Cinnabar Island, after Primeape won we were approached by this old man come to think of it he looked quite similar to you Ash" Ash shocked "what do you mean looked like me? Was he wearing a tux?" Ash wanting an answer immediately, "No I don't recall him wearing a tux, he had a red cape, a hat similar to Primeape's and a red and white shirt on with blue jeans, he walked up to me and handed me this letter and walked off without saying a word, I saw a glimpse of his face and swear he had the exact same birthmarks under his eye's like you," Anthony thinking about it. Ash sits down trying to figure out if it was someone he knew, "So what did the letter say?" Brock asks, "I didn't open the letter but the note said to give this to Ash when he comes to challenge the champion and tell him that this is his last letter," Anthony explains to them, "my last letter," Ash mumbles.
*bshhhhhh
Squirtle jumps out of his Pokeball and has his hands in a fist "Squirtle, squirt, Squirtle" Squirtle shouting at Ash, Ash looks down and his face overcomes with a determined expression, "yeah we can do it Squirtle, Anthony I accept the Challenge of the Champion just you wait I'll get my last letter, Primeape you're going to have the fight of your life" Ash challenging Primeape with Squirtle turning to Primeape ready to fight. Primeape stands next to Anthony and tugs on his shirt, "I haven't seen you this excited in a while," Anthony chuckles, "Primeape accepts your challenge Ash and Squirtle, we will see you in the finals."
