Kanto's Final Challenge

Ash and his friends are almost at the beach on Route 25 when they are stopped by a rumbling noise coming from behind them.

"Stampede!" Brock shouts out jumping to the side, Ash and Misty turn around and sees a mob of Kangaskan running right towards them, a panicked expression overcomes their face, Misty and Pikachu copy Brock and jump to the side out the way, Ash on the other hand, to panicked to think straight and doesn't know which side to jump to runs on the spot watching the mob of Kangaskan running closer to him. The Kangaskan run and trample Ash, Ash getting thrown in the air and lightly stepped on, the mob of Kangaskan pass and two older people who are trailing the Kangaskan stop and help Ash up, "Ash are you ok?" Misty jogging towards him says with a worried tone, "Yeah, I'm ok thank you Mr" Ash says getting helped up by the older man, Ash looks up to see the small old man, he's wearing an orange and brown Tarzan striped cloth hanging from his right shoulder covering the majority of his small, chubby body, his big red bowtie sticks out and is very out of place in his appearance, his grey hair seeming to fall out quicker every time you take a second look at him, his tiny black eyes are hard to find on his pineapple-shaped head with circle swirls on his cheeks. "Sorry about that kids," the older lady says standing next to the older man that seems to be her partner, Brock looks at the couple and studies the older lady trying to recognise them, the lady even though noticeably quite younger then the man still has some age to show, she is also wearing an orange and brown Tarzan cloth but hers is strapless, hugging her chest tightly across and coming all the way down just cutting off before her knees, her orange-brown hair with the slightest hint on grey dusted over the sides hangs in a ponytail with a scrunchy made out of what looks to be old leaves and vines but it does the job none the less, "Aren't you Tommo's parents?" Brock snapping his fingers remembering them from four years ago, "Oh, yeah I remember you two" Misty chirps in with a high pitched tone still concerned about Ash. "I can't believe you remember us," Tommo's dad says in a plummy voice, Ash dusting himself off with Pikachu at his feet looking up at his trainer a little concerned about his health, Ash puts his right hand under his chin, his fingers pretending to stroke a bear that is not there while his left arm keeps his right arm up, he looks up at the sky and tries to think, "uhh, nup I'm sorry I can't recall you two" the others fall down in reaction to his comment. "That's ok it has been a while," Tommo's mum says smiling at Ash. "I see you are still looking after the Kangaskan" Brock continuing the conversation, "Yep, our big Kangaskan family" Tommo's dad adds in, "Where is Tommo anyways?" Misty asks looking around to see if anyone else is there, "his at the house waiting for Ash" Tommo's mum adds still smiling, Ash whose attention is now fully grabbed, looks confused, "waiting for me?" he says in a soft tone, "yes my boy, come on I'll take you to him" Tommo's dad says with his plummy voice getting higher as he walks away, Ash, Misty and Brock look at each other confused but are moved by Tommo's mum who is still smiling which has now turned a little creepy, pushes them to follow her husband.

"Jessie, I'm hungry" James moans out sitting on a park bench that overlooks a meadow full of colourful flowers and a tiny stream in the distance, "what do you want me to do about it!" Jessie yells out with little strength lying on top of the park bench. "Lunch is ready!" Ruby calls out in her pleasant sunshine voice, James and Jessie shoot up with the delicious smell of what Ruby has cooked, Jessie sits down next to James and puts on a white bib ready to dig into her food, James puts on a white bib as well holding up his fork and knife also ready to dig in, Ruby places the plates of food on the park bench, James and Jessie's eyes sparkle and their mouth-watering at the sight of all the delicious food Ruby has made, dumplings, fully stacked sandwiches, biscuits, soup with bread on the side. "Dig in guys," Ruby says with a smile, James and Jessie dig in like animals, Ruby watches on happily, she turns to see Meowth overlooking the beauty of the meadow, she grabs two plates and piles them up with food and walks over to him, "What's on your mind good looking" Ruby chuckles handing Meowth one of the stacked plates and sits down next to him, "nothing, just thinking," Meowth says grabbing the plate off of Ruby cracking a smile with her presence. "What are you thinking about?" Ruby asks taking a bite of her sandwich, Meowth swallows the food in his mouth and turns to look at Ruby, her beauty still catching him off guard every time he glances at her, the cuteness she has, her soft grey fur somehow still sparkling in the sun as the clouds block the sunshine, "I was just thinking about the future" Meowth says, "what about the future?" Ruby still smiling looking over the colourful meadow, "Team Rocket has changed now, Jessie and James aren't getting any older, I'm sure the twerp is coming to the end of his journey, the boss just keeps getting angrier and angrier at us, I won't be surprised his he gets rid of us soon" Meowth chuckling a little at his last comments. Ruby puts down her sandwich and looks at Meowth, she also looks at him with admiration and love, "I don't think the boss with fire you" Ruby laughs, "why do you think that?" Meowth chuckling at Ruby's comments, "well taking no credit away from you three but didn't you tell the boss you three were solely responsible for taking down Team Magma, Team Aqua, Team Galactic, Team Plasma, Team Flare and Team Skull?" Ruby tells Meowth with a squinted look knowing that they just happened to be there and didn't really help, Meowth smiles and adds "what do you mean taking no credit away, that twerp and his friends didn't do anything they just got in our way" the two laugh at each other comments getting James and Jessie's attention. "Look at them Jess" James mumbles with a mouthful of food, "our little Meowth growing up, I think he's found what he has wanted in his whole life, it hurts not being accepted for who you are and the fact that Ruby accepts him for him despite being in Team Rocket shows how amazing she is" James swallows his food and stops eating just admiring the couple, Jessie looks on in silence cracking a smile at her old friend who looks to have found happiness, "yeah his done alright, I still think she can do better though" Jessie turning back to her food and giggles a little. James looks at Jessie and just stares as she stuffs her food in her mouth in a pig-like manner, "do you think we'll ever find something like that Jess?" James says in a soft voice, Jessie stops eating, swallows the food in her mouth and looks at him, she has mustard smeared across her face, she wipes her mouth with the bib tucked into her shirt and looks James in the eyes, that feeling she felt a couple of days ago coming back, "what do you mean?" Jessie says straightening her back up and sitting up straight, "do you think we'll ever find happiness in someone else, the happiness of love like Meowth and Ruby have, do you think we deserve it?" James not taking his eyes of Jessie, Jessie looks at James, slowly leaning in "I…I don't know James" she soft softly, the air coming from her mouth tickles James lips a little causing him to twitch, the two look at each other as if time has stopped, feelings that they seemed to have shoved down deep emerging, feelings they are welcoming, they lean in slowly getting close to each other's lips. "Are you guys finished eating!" Meowth shouts out breaking up the moment Jessie and James are having, causing them to shoot back as time sets back in, "uhh, what huh, no of course not!" Jessie stumbles across her words but manages to shout out the last three words, James looks at Jessie his smile turning into a frown as he grabs a sandwich off his plate and shoves it in his mouth turning his attention back to his food.

"Here it is" Tommo's dad calls out, the group push some small trees out of the way and come into a small opening in the forest that's surrounded by a lush vast of green trees and bushes making it nearly impossible to find the house if you didn't know it was there. Ash, Brock and Misty look at the house that looks like it has been taking over by the plants that surround it, Pikachu pushes a leaf on a vine out of the way but it rebounds and hits Pikachu in the face making it go red due to the sting, Pikachu gets angry and starts pretending to box the plant. The door swings open with a gigantic Kangaskan walking out, Ash, Brock and Misty look on in amazement at the sheer size of this Pokemon, Pikachu still trying to box the leaf throws a quick punch but misses and falls over. Tommo appears behind the Kangaskan, the small kid which has grown quite a bit in the past four years walks around Kangaskan and towards Ash, Ash looks on at this boy he is trying to remember but can't, the boy who now seems to be at the age of eight, is quite muscular for his age, his body covered in white paint, a line of white paint goes from one ear across the top of his nose to the other ear, his chest and shoulders covered in the white paint with a circle free from paint in the middle of it, two lines of paint cover his ribs two on each side and seem to connect at the back, his big bright yellow eyes capture your attention for a second until you are caught by his odd yet appealing hair due, his dark blue hair with two vine like hair ties hold up his hair in a spikey fin like manner to both sides of his head, a brown cloth is tied around his waist and is quite loose, most likely so he is able to run and swing through the trees as he did when he was little.

"Ash, Misty, Brock so nice to see you three again, Pikachu you too" Tommo says in a orotund tone remembering the group of them fondly, "Tommo, you've grown up," Brock says with Tommo standing in front of them, "look at you, you're not that little boy from all those years ago" Misty adds making sure Tommo knows she remembers him, Tommo looks at Ash waiting for him to add to the conversation, "I'm sorry, I don't remember you" Ash adds causing Tommo to get a little embarrassed, "that's alright with all your adventures and Pokemon leagues I'm not surprised" Tommo replies indicating the fact that he has kept up with Ash's Pokemon League battles. "Your parents said you wanted to see us Tommo?" Brock asks still a little confused, "uhh yes I did, I require Ash's help" Tommo lifting his finger up pointing to Ash, "uhh how did you know we would be here?" Ash asking softly, "oh that, that's easy someone told me the Kangaskan would require help from a trainer named Ash and his Pikachu, I immediately remembered you two and then before I could ask why, the man vanished," Tommo tells Ash and the others, "was that man old and wearing a tux?" Ash asks in a hurry, "uhh I couldn't recall I'm sorry, but I do need your help" Tommo leading them to the backyard of the house.

"You see a group of the Kangaskan got kidnapped yesterday from the backyard, that's where we keep the injured and weaker ones, closer to the house and then the stronger ones are further away" Tommo explains with Ash, Brock and Misty looking at the empty backyard, "I need your help getting them back," Tommo asks Ash, "of course we'll help," Brock says before Ash could answer, "you can count on us" Misty adds with a voice Ash is starting to get annoyed at, Tommo looks at Ash knowing he doesn't quite want to help out, "I can help you with your letters Ash."

Ash's eyes widen with his eyebrows squinting together at what Tommo had said, "the letters you've been getting I can help you with them, the last one a little confusing huh, the beach on route 25 the mysterious house that holds the answer I can tell you where and what house you are looking for" Tommo trying to convince Ash to help him, Ash looks at Tommo a little frustrated that he is using this to blackmail him, "ok, I'll help you Tommo" Ash says reluctantly, Misty looks at Ash shocked and concerned about the fact he didn't want to help in the first place, this wasn't the Ash she had come to know, this wasn't the Ash that travelled with her at the start.

"Ruby you don't need to do the dishes I've got them" James stopping Ruby, who stacks the empty plates up, "go and have a walk while Jessie and I do the dishes," he tells the Alolan Meowth, "what! Why doesn't Meowth have to do them!" Jessie complaining at the thought of getting her perfect hands dirty and wet, James gives Jessie a scary glare making Jessie rethink what she had just said, "no, you're right James, Ruby go have a nice stroll with Meowth, we will be all be packed up by the time you two come back" Jessie forcing a smile on her face, "Come on Ruby" Meowth saying grabbing Ruby's paw and walking off through the meadow, "we'll have that one day Jess" James says softly picking up a pile of dirty plates, Jessie looks at James a peaceful, shocked but innocent expression comes across her face as she stares at James who puts the plates next to a bucket of water, "only if it's with you" Jessie says softly and quietly hoping James doesn't hear, "what was that Jessie?" James turning his head hearing her mumble something, "Oh nothing, here I'll dry" Jessie says in a panic and embarrassment with her face flushing a bright red.

"That was nice of them to do the dishes," Ruby says as she strolls through the meadow swinging Meowths arm in joy, "yeah for two not so smart humans they can be surprisingly nice" Meowth adds with a smile. The two walks through the meadow smiling and looking at the wild Pokemon playing in the meadow, a group of Bellossom huddle in a group smelling the colourful flowers, Pidgey fly out of the surrounding trees bringing loose leaves to fall down over Ruby and Meowth causing them to giggle a little, they make their way to the back of the meadow to the small creek, three Poliwag jumps in the shallow creek as they approach. Ruby sits on the warm rocks, "this was nice, this is nice" Ruby says looking into the water, "what do you mean?" Meowth asks sitting next to Ruby, Ruby turns to Meowth whose sitting to the left of her, she grabs his right arm and wraps it around her snuggling up to him, "being here with you, finding you, it's just nice" Meowth looks at Ruby, his smile getting larger, "yeah, it is nice" he mutters softly with the two of them just looking at the beautiful blue creek in silence.

"The people who took the Kangaskan have brought them to this place over here it's about thirty minutes to get to but the Kangaskan are going to let us ride them so we can get their quicker" Tommo says pointing at a map on the grass. "We are already to go over here Tommo," Ash calls out holding tightly onto a Kangaskan, "Kangaskan, let's release our friends!" Tommo shouts out indicating for the Kangaskan to move, he turns one of his hair ties around and reveals a mega ring, "is that a," Ash mutters looking at the sparkling stone, "Kangaskan mega evolve!" Tommo shouts out with a sheering bright light covering him and the giant Kangaskan he is on. The light fades away and Mega Kangaskan appears, the smaller Kangaskan starts running leading the small mob off to the kidnappers.

The group stops seeing a cage full of the stolen Kangaskan, "look over there" Misty points out obviously, "Tommo, Ash, over there, look" Brock whispers pointing to the right of the cage seeing two figures standing there, "the kidnappers" "grrrr" Tommo says with rage and his Mega Kangaskan growling at the two figures, the group hops off their Kangaskan and sneak closer to get a better look at the two figures, they appear to be Butch and Cassidy members of Team Rocket, Ash and the others have had a few encounters with, Butch had green hair and a deep voice, his long sleeve black Team Rocket shirt was tucked into his white belt that held up his black Team Rocket pants that tucked into his white boots with a vertical red stripe just on the top, Cassidy was about the same height as Butch who was around Brock's height give or take a few centimetres, she had dark yellow hair, and wore red lipstick with pink triangular ear rings that hang down past her neck, her outfit was different then Butch's not just because of the gender difference but the fact that she wore a short Team Rocket long sleeve dress that stopped just above her knees and finished with a white and red pattern at the bottom, the shoulders on the dress puffed up as they were tucked into her elbow long white gloves with a vertical red stripe in the middle of them, her thigh high boots where the same colour as Butch's shoes and had a vertical red stripe at the top of them as well.

"Tommo, you and Misty release the Kangaskan while Brock and I get Butch and Cassidy's attention," Ash giving commands out to him. Pikachu and Brock sneak through the bush in front of the Team Rocket members, Tommo and Misty sneak over to the captured Kangaskan and open the gate, "here Misty hold this" Tommo says handing Misty the metal pole that kept the Kangaskan locked in, Misty reaches out but drops the metal pole causing a loud noise, Butch and Cassidy turn their heads, "whose their!" Butch calls out, "Pikachu thunderbolt" Ash calls out appearing from the bush scaring Butch and Cassidy, "Pikachuuuu" Pikachu letting out his thunderbolt shocking Butch with Cassidy jumping out the way just in time, "why you little" Cassidy says in rage, she pulls out a remote and presses the big red button on it.

"Tommo what is happening" Misty screeches watching the Kangaskan glow in a bright white light, "I think something is forcing them to mega evolve," Tommo says grabbing Misty's hand and running further back. The Kangaskan stop glowing and Tommo was right, they have mega evolved but not quite right, their eyes red in rage, the Mega Kangaskan lose control smashing everything in its path, "Misty!" Ash calls out running over to her and Tommo, Tommo shoves Misty out the way of an oncoming Kangaskan and jumps up dodging the rampaging Pokemon, "Ash we need to get that remote" Brock says meeting up with Ash and Misty, Ash nods his head in response.

The rampaging Mega Kangaskan are smashing the trees and rocks around the area, they run towards Cassidy who jumps out the way and drops the remote, "Butch get up and help me!" she screams out to her partner, Butch wobbles to his feet but is then flipped up into the air by a rampaging Mega Kangaskan, he lands on Cassidy who tries to get out of the way but can't, "Butch you idiot! Get off me!" Cassidy shouts out, "uhh Cass," Butch says looking forward, "What!" she replies in a nasal tone, "we have a problem" Butch points to the oncoming Mega Kangaskan.

*BANG

"This is all your fault Butchhhhhh" Cassidy shouts out as the two members of Team Rocket get launched into the air and disappear into the blue sky. "Ash, how do we get the remote?" Tommo asks running up next to him looking at the rampaging Mega Kangaskan now surrounding the remote, Brock looks for a way to get the remote but his attention grabbed by Misty who has clung onto Ash's right arm. Ash shrugs Misty's grip off and moves forward to the Mega Kangaskan, Misty looks at him admiring his braveness, "Tommo I'll distract them, you run in and get that remote" Ash calls out running towards the mob of Mega Kangaskan, "be careful" Misty whispers under her breath. "Pikachu get their attention, thunderbolt in front of them try not to hurt them" Ash calls out, Pikachu runs ahead of Ash letting out his thunderbolt just missing the Mega Kangaskan but grabbing their attention, the Mega Kangaskan start charging for Ash and Pikachu leaving the remote, giving Tommo and opening to grab it. "Pikachu quick attack confuse them" Ash still battling them, Pikachu runs around the Mega Kangaskan in circles confusing them and causing them to not know where and what to attack. Tommo runs in and grabs the remote, "Ash I have it!" Tommo shouts out, "well press it!" Ash shouts out in a little bit of rage, Tommo presses the big red button and watches the Mega Kangaskan de-evolve and collapse.

"Thank you, Ash," Tommo says with gratitude as they help the fainted Kangaskan up, "no problem Tommo" Ash smiles back, Misty looks at Ash her feelings growing stronger, "I saw you and Ash just before," Brock whispers to Misty, Misty's face covers in a cherry red of embarrassment, "you're getting closer" Brock adds giving Misty a smile. "What are you going to do with all the mega stones?" Ash asks watching Tommo take off the mega stones from the Kangaskan, "I'm going to keep them and if I feel like any passing trainers are worthy I'll give them one" Tommo tells Ash handing him one of the kangaskhanite, Ash looks at Tommo surprised, "Tommo I appreciate the gesture but I don't have a mega ring" Ash tells Tommo, Tommo laughs, "the great trainer Ash Ketchum doesn't have a mega ring, in the Kalos League I saw you, you didn't need one, so just hold onto it who knows maybe you'll get a mega ring someday" Tommo dropping the kangaskhanite in Ash's hand.

"The house you're looking for is Bill's house" Tommo giving Ash the final destination of his letters, Ash looks at Tommo remembering where Bill's house is, "thank you Tommo," Ash says shaking Tommo's hand and walking off, "Ash where are we going?" Brock asks, "Bill's house!" Ash tells him, Brock and Misty turn to Tommo and wave goodbye watching Tommo and the mob of Kangaskan walking the other way.
