He turned at me,
"When you were there, did you ever saw your own face?"—old man.
"what?"—me.
"You know, have you ever actually seen how you look?"—old man.
I recollected as back as I could and I realised that I had actually seen my face when I was near the lake, in the water reflection. It was like looking into a mirror. But I never had a memory of my face when I woke up in that room.
"yes."-me.
"All right…but just for avoiding any inconvenience let's look at it one more time."—old man.
He switched on a huge screen in front of me and it was like looking into a selfie camera. I walked close to it and examined my face. It was similar to what I had seen before at the lakeside.
'but they could have just changed my face before putting me there.'
The thought crossed my mind as I moved away from the digital mirror. I sat down and looked at him, he was smoking that cigar with pleasure and releasing the smoke in the air tilting his head up. The smell was strong and I sort of liked the smell.
"I will not try to convince you anything."—old man.
"what?"—me.
"I said that I will not try to convince you anything."—old man.
He squeezed the cigar in the ash tray and the last cloud of smoke disappeared.
"convince me what?"—me.
"I won't say that either."—old man.
I got up aggressively and slammed my hands on the table.
"what the fuc.."—me.
"calm down kid."-old man.
He picked up the remote on the left and pressed a button while pointing it at the screen. The screen turned on and I saw what I couldn't have imagined.
The screen was running a video where I was sitting in the same office. From the looks of it the video was shot using the same selfie camera in which I just saw my face.
"is it running?"—video me.
