The story takes place around May, when Asahi and Nishinoya came back to the team. The Karasuno vs. Aoba Johsai game already ended before this story started. Also, Nishinoya will only stick around for practice because of Asahi's absence so I put my own spin on the story :>
Akira's Point of View
I walked out of my room, fully dressed in my uniform. It looks very cute! I styled my long, brown, wavy hair into a messy bun. Mom just said that Daichi left a few moments ago. I'm so excited to see the look of his face when he sees me! I went downstairs and met my mom for breakfast. She's already seated, drinking her tea. She smiled at me when I approached.
"It's kinda hard acting normally to your brother, Akira. Why can't you just tell him like a normal person?" My mom joked. I laughed at her and shrugged. I took a toast from the table and started munching. I wonder what changed here in Miyagi? I started gathering my things and my mom handed me my bento box. I kissed her on the cheek and went outside.
It's kind of cold, since it's morning. I sighed. I wasn't able to tour the town yet. I just came back from Tokyo yesterday. I wanted to surprise Daichi that I'll finally be attending school here. I took a break from my busy life in Tokyo, with my work and all. I glanced around the town while I walked. At least nothing much had changed... nothing that I should feel bad about missing out on. Will anyone recognize me? I hope not. I don't want to create any problems for everyone.
I went inside a convenience store and bought tons of chocolate. If I'm meeting Daichi later, I should give him some boost for his practice. I know it's a lot of chocolates and I purposely did that so his teammates can have some too. Daichi never told most of his friends about me. I think only Suga-senpai, Asahi-senpai and Kiyoko-senpai knew about me. It's not that we're ashamed of each other or anything but he said it never came up on their (the team) conversation and he's doing it for my sake. This is the first time I'll meet them and I really want to make a good impression. I opened my backpack and put the chocolates from my hand. I smiled when I looked at the gift I got for Daichi, sitting inside the paper bag that I'm holding on my other hand.
I reached the gates of Karasuno. I've always dreamed about coming here. Not because of the school itself, I just wanted to attend school with Daichi like I used to do in Junior High. I had to live in Tokyo for my modeling gigs since there's not much for my career in here. I can't miss out on school too so I attended the nearest school by my apartment. It's been months ever since I last saw my brother. Because of the surprise, I had to sneak inside the house last night so he won't know I'm home. I had my parents set the preparations for my transfer without Daichi knowing. I'm even a month late from the first day of school. I want to see his face when I visit him on the gym later though.
I missed his games a lot... I was in my last year of Junior High when Daichi went to Karasuno so I wasn't able to watch some of his match because of our different schedules. I went away to Tokyo the next year, ever since I got discovered by a modeling agency on his second year. Now... it's my second year and his last. I want to be a good sister and try to make up for lost time.
I went inside the school premises and noticed some people looking my way. Did they recognized me already?! I love being a model but sometimes it's a little bit too overwhelming. It's gonna be hard to find my classroom with all this attention on me.
Nishinoya's Point of View
I walked inside the room and saw Ryu looking at a magazine. What is it? Don't tell me it's a dirty magazine! It's too early in the morning for that! I went over to him and put my bag on the seat next to his. I leaned over and looked at it. There goes on the page, is a girl posed in the center of the streets. She's looking at the camera lens with a hand holding a few wildflowers, it's touching her cheek while her hair's moved by the wind. (A/N: Look at the media for the background!)
Her eyes... it's like speaking to me. Her expression... it's different. Ryu changed the page and I didn't say a word to complain. It's his, after all. There's no point in staring at the girl's face. It's not like she's coming to life and be here or whatever. I'm just so excited for the volleyball practice later! The two first years are very promising. And I certainly don't mind another cute sized guy like me inside the gym! Sadly, I won't be back officially. I'll only train with them.
"What are you nodding about, Noya-san?" Ryu asked. I didn't realized that I'm nodding along with my thoughts. I shouted at Ryu and said, "I'm just thinking about how good of a Senpai I am! I'll treat Shoyo ice cream next week!" Tanaka just smirked at me and I scowled in response.
I went back to my seat that's right beside the window. I looked at the sky and wondered about that girl in the magazine. She must be a very good model for the audience to react like that, including my reaction, of course. Her eyes are speaking or something. Am I imagining it?! Am I going insane?! I should stop thinking about that girl anymore! We have Kiyoko-san! She's the definition of beauty and grace!
Our homeroom teacher went inside so the rest of the class went to their seats. She's looking very flustered, and a little bit excited. She's clutching her phone tightly. IS THERE A SURPRISE POP QUIZ?! We all went silent, staring at the blushing woman in front of us, because of the suspense. When she realized how intrigued we all are, she cleared her throat and spoke.
"Today, we'll have another student joining us. Treat her with respect!"
The room was filled with whispers and gasps. Who could blame them? Even I'm intrigued. It's not everyday that you have a late transferee. Ms. Takahashi glared at us and the room went silent. She motioned the mysterious figure to come inside. A pretty girl went inside the room, looking very shy. Ms. Takahashi looked like she's looking at a goddess. I could even swear that her eyes are sparkling like in the cartoons! I looked at the girl again and our eyes met and SHE SMILED AT ME!
!!!
Is s-she...? I looked away, into the window. The magazine girl and the girl in front, they have the same eyes! I couldn't be mistaken! I'll know that eyes anywhere! I composed myself but still panicking inside. Kami-sama, are you playing jokes with me? Did you just granted what I said earlier? Maybe you could grant more of my wishes? Wait, wait! My mind is filling with everything, Am I breaking down? My thoughts are interrupted by a velvety like voice that ringed inside the room.
"Hello everyone, I'm Sawamura Akira. It's nice meeting you!" She bowed. I looked at Tanaka and he looked back at me. He must recognize her too! "Noya-san... she's the girl in the magazine earlier, is she not?" He whispered to me and I nodded to him. We're about to talk again when she walked in our direction. Tanaka and I went back to our desks, clearing the path between us. She passed and sat behind me. Kami-sama, of all the vacant seats, why the closest to me?! Now, I can't talk to Ryu about this!
Akira's Point of View
Aghhh! I'm in the wrong side of the building! How could I focus on finding my room when there's tons of girls looking in my direction? To be honest, I don't mind the attention. I'm used to a large crowd. What I'm terrified is, what they're thinking. Some girls smile as I walk, some of them scowl... and I really don't know what to do!
In the middle of my mind babbling, I ran into someone in the hallway. I clutched my forehead because of the pain. I'm not that tall... I'm a petite model, standing in 5 foot 1. It's just the right height for me since I'm mostly modelling girly stuff. Sometimes, I wish that I'm tall like Daichi though so I won't be hurt in times like this. I looked at the person I ran into and it's a teacher. I immediately bowed and apologized. "It's okay! Are you lost?" She asked me. I nodded in response.
She looked at me curiously and suddenly became overjoyed. "You're the model in the latest Tokyo Journal magazine right?" She knows about that? I nodded and smiled at her. Her smile grew larger and looked more excited into talking with me. "Which class are you in?" She asked. "I'm a second year transferee..." The bell rang.
"Then you're in my class! After all, you're the only student who enrolled late." She dragged me across the hallway. The students are now gone since the class just started. We stopped by a room that I assume is my classroom. I reached out to open the sliding door but she suddenly took my hand in hers. "If it's okay with you... do you mind if I ask for a picture?" She pleaded. There's no way in hell that I'll refuse my teacher! It's going to be very rude and disrespectful.
We took a picture and she went inside the class first. She said a few words for introduction and then I came in. God! I'm the center of attention! Do they recognize me? Will they get crazy like my batch mates in Tokyo? Luckily, they're silent.
"Hello everyone, I'm Sawamura Akira. It's nice meeting you!" I bowed. I hope they don't take too much thought about my surname. I don't want to make problems for Daichi. Once they found out that he's my brother, they might disturb him from classes or practices. I've seen some fans do that to someone I cared about on my last school.
I made eye contact with a black haired boy by the window. He has a streak of blonde hair on the middle of his hair. He looks cute and he's cute sized! I unconsciously let out a smile. Oh no! He must think that I'm weird! My thoughts are proven to be true when he looked outside the window, away from my gaze. Stupid girl! I wasn't trying to be weird, mysterious guy! Don't hate me please! The only vacant seat was behind his. Awkward! I gathered myself from panicking and walked on the aisle where my seat is. I sat behind him and looked outside the window.
A few seconds passed and I realized that he's looking outside too. Our gaze met on the reflection and I felt my cheeks heat up. No, no, no. It's too early in the school year for any young romance! I looked away and focused on the class.
-
The first class ended so we have a ten-minute break. Three more subjects to go. I saw a girl walk towards me and I smiled at her. She introduced herself to me, asking if we could be friends. Of course I will! I'm not the snobbish type of person. Her name is Sudou Rinko.
"I belong in the volleyball club. What club are you planning on taking?" She asked me. I rubbed the back of my neck. "Well... I haven't thought about it yet..." The students started going back to their seats so Rinko-san bid her goodbyes to me and went back to her seat.
Ugh... classes.
-
It's finally the lunch break and we have 40 minutes for ourselves! Rinko-san approached me and I looked at her. "Let's eat in the roof top?" She asked and I smiled at her. I looked in front of me and saw the cute guy gathering his stuff. I turned my attention back at Rinko and proceeded to the roof top. I took my bento box out of my bag and started munching happily.
"I saw you looking at Nishinoya-san. Do you like him?~" She said in a teasing tone. I suddenly blushed and waved my arms in front of me. No! This doesn't help at all! She laughed at my reaction and took a spoonful of rice into her mouth.
"So his name's Nishinoya huh..." I muttered.
"Yeah! You know, it wouldn't be bad if you do like him, Akira-san. Nishinoya-san is very cool. If we're going to base on his looks and personality, he's a 10 out of 10!" She proudly said. Is that so?
"So... does a lot of girls like him?" Why are you even asking that, Akira? That just proves her point! I felt my cheeks grow hot again. I must be blushing like crazy! She suddenly laughed so loud. Did I say something funny? I took a bite of my lunch and started chewing it.
"Sadly... no. A lot of girls notice him but gets turned off by his height. Maybe he's met his match with you!" I almost choked on my food. Me?! I've just been here for a few hours and there's already so much that's happening? I'm not that small, am I?! I'm cute sized! I'm a model! My height makes me look more like a doll so I will not be ashamed!
"Hey!" I said. She just laughed more with my reaction. Rinko-san is very nice. I'm so glad I'm friends with someone like her. I remember some girls from my school in Tokyo befriending me just because of my occupation. I'm not a toy, and I certainly is not a prize. I'm not a decoration where they can keep just to impress guests. Rinko and I talked while eating our lunches on the rooftop until the time ran out.
-
The bell rang.
I sighed. My first day's classes ended and I'll finally be able to see Daichi! I took my back pack and my paper bag off my seat. I looked at the seat in front of me and found it empty. He must've took off when I wasn't looking. Why would I be looking in the first place?! I approached Rinko-san.
"Oh. You want to go home together, Akira-san?" She asked.
"Actually... just outside? I have to do some things after school here in campus." I sheepishly said.
"That's okay! I have to do some things too. We have volleyball practice today." With that, the two of us walked outside the classroom.
"How's your first day here in Karasuno?" She asked me. I looked at her and answered. There's not much that happened yet but the fact that people are not taking advantage of me and has been very nice made me feel at ease.
"It's okay. There's nothing much that I could say yet since it's only been a day. I'm most looking forward to this after school thing that I'm about to do." We parted once we reached the ground floor. I made my way into the school gym, my heart pounding in my chest. I neared the gym and heard the squeaking of shoes made by the friction on the court.
I carefully looked inside the court by the sliding doors and I saw his familiar back. He's instructing the team so he won't be able to see me. I put my paper bag on the ground. I ran at full speed and jumped on his back. I was laughing by the fact that he almost fell but he has great balance. I wrapped my arms on his neck and kissed him on the cheek. I let go and looked at his face, goofiness plastered on my face. OH MY GOD, HIS FACE IS HILARIOUS!
His eyes are wide but he snapped out of his daze when he saw me. He wrapped his arms around me and gave me a bear hug. It's so tight that I thought I won't be able to breathe. He let go of me and held both of my hands.
"I can't believe you're here!" He looked at me and noticed my clothing. "You're attending Karasuno?!" I grinned at him and nodded. He wrapped me in a bear hug again, my face hitting his chest. My dear brother must've forgotten that I'm much smaller than him. He let go and we both, at the same time, looked at the players gaping at us. Suga-senpai went to me and hugged me. He pulled away a second after and I laughed as he ruffled my hair.
I looked around and saw 9 more people in the court. My eyes landed on a black haired male that almost seemed too familiar to me. Err... awkward. What to do to get out of this situation... "Ah! Daichi, come with me!" I dragged my dear brother outside. I took the paper bag that lied on the floor and gave it to him. He looked at me curiously but I just smiled at him. He started to rummage through the paper bag while I bit my bottom lip in excitement. He took my present, still wrapped in wrapping paper.
He tore away the wrapping paper and saw the logo.
"Open it!"
He opened the shoe box.
"It's the latest Asics volleyball shoes that I could find in Tokyo. I hope you really like it-" I was interrupted when he hugged me again. I smiled at the gesture.
Nishinoya's Point of View
"Nice serve!"
The team started the training while I started to do my 200 spike-block receives. My mind wandered and I found myself looking at the door. The sky looks very calm right now, I would kill for a walk. I was shocked when I saw a girl ran to Daichi with so much speed. She jumped on his back, hugging him and my eyes went wider when I saw her kiss him on the cheek. It's the same girl on my class!
The sound of Daichi, trying to regain his balance caught the attention of the others. We all watched as they hug and hold hands. "Psst!" I looked at my side and saw Ryu gesturing me to him. I went to him and he whispered. "I never knew Daichi-san has a girl friend! And to think he's been hiding that beauty from us!" I glared at him in response. Knowing something about our captain makes me excited just like Ryu, but I don't want to look like a nosy person to the girl. I thought she's really pretty but it sucks that she's taken already.
Her eyes landed on mine and then dragged Daichi-san out of the room.
I never realized that the team became too quiet. The moment they went out, the whole court suddenly buzzed with noise.
"It was really good seeing Akira-san again!" Suga-san cheered. He know her? I went over to Suga-san and joined him for a conversation. "You know her?" I asked. He looked at me before he answered me.
"Yeah... ever since our first year here. She used to watch our games." I nodded. Before I could even ask another question, Daichi-san and the girl went back inside the court. "Woah! Is that a new pair of shoes, Daichi-san?!" Shoyo shouted. I looked over to Daichi-san and he's now carrying a paper bag that I never saw him bring earlier. It must be cool to have such a supporting girl friend. I'm kind of jealous. Not because I like that girl! It's just that it must be nice to have new shoes and someone to take care of you every once in a while!
Shimizu-senpai arrived. The girl suddenly ran to her and gave her a bone crushing hug. Shimizu-senpai then smiled. She smiled?! Is this girl close to everyone?!
"I missed you so much, Kiyoko-san!"
"I missed you too, Akira-chan!" Shimizu-senpai smoothed Akira's hair after they pulled out from the hug. She whispered something to the girl's ear. And she suddenly blushed. She looks cute. WHY IS SHE TAKEN?! AND OF ALL PEOPLE, OUR CAPTAIN?!
Wait, Chan? They're close?! I looked at Ryu and saw him with his mouth open. He must be wondering the same thing. While distracted, Shoyo took my hand and dragged me across the room in front of the girl. Shoyo, what are you doing?!
"Hello! My name is Hinata Shoyo! Nice to meet you!" Hinata bowed and the girl laughed. Her voice sounds so... Sweet. Like cotton candy...
What are you doing, Yuu?! You have Shimizu-Senpai! But this personality isn't like me?! I'm energetic and friendly! I should make her feel at home!
"My name is Nishinoya Yuu! It's nice meeting you!" I wonder how she'll react to me. I didn't heard any laugh so I stood up from my bow and saw her wide eyed. Did I do anything wrong?! Kami-sama, are you now turning your back on me now?! She regained her composure and then blushed. Is she blushing at me?!
"U-uhm, Nice to meet you, Nishinoya-senpai!" She bowed back at me. Daichi-san looked at her and his eyebrow shot up by what she did.
Senpai?!
Akira's Point of View
I stood up from my last position and blushed. I know! It was silly of me to do that! We're on the same grade level and the same class, yet I called him my upperclassman! When Kiyoko-san and I pulled out from our hug, she whispered to me that I should call Nishinoya 'senpai'. I looked at him and he has the same red color on his cheeks like I do. What to do again?! This is very awkward! T_T
"Ah!" I took off my backpack and took the chocolates that I bought earlier. I showed them to Kiyoko-san and smiled wide. "I bought these earlier to give to the team. I hope it'll help you guys for training." I looked at the ground.
I didn't realized that everyone have gathered around us and bowed. "Thank you very much!" They said in unison. We munched on the chocolates that I've bought. Everyone truly is very nice! Someone approached me.
"Hello, Akira-san! I'm Tanaka Ryuunosuke. But you can call me the ace." He pointed at himself with his thumb and smirked at me. "You're in my class, right?! It's nice to finally talk to you!" I smiled widely at him and he blushed. I guess guys blushing at the sight of me is kinda normal because of me being a model and all.
"Tanaka-senpai liked being called 'senpai'!" Hinata-kun loudly said, joining us. A tall guy suddenly slapped him on the head. "Don't interrupt someone else's conversation, boke!" They argued but they suddenly stopped. I looked around and saw Daichi giving the two of them a death glare. Ha! Just classic! He used to give me those glare when we were in Junior High.
"You should introduce yourself, king!" Hinata-kun said. The boy gave him another glare and proceeded to introduce himself to me. "My name is Kageyama Tobio, It's nice meeting you." He bowed his head a little. "I'm Akira. Feel free to call me by my first name." I said then smiled at them again. The both of them blushed and said in unison, "Of course, Akira-san!" They returned to their practice.
As I was walking around, I saw a very tall guy and a green haired guy hanging in the corner. "Hello! I'm Akira, who are you guys?" The green haired boy tensed up but the tall one next to him couldn't care less about my presence. "I-I'm Yamaguchi Tadashi. T-this is Tsukishima Kei." He glanced at the boy. He looked at me coldly and bowed his head a little. I smiled at them and gave them a chocolate bar.
There are three more people I haven't talked with. I went over them and then they became flustered. Is it just because of me? "Hello, care for some sweets?" I reached my hands to them, full of chocolate bars. "Thank you! Akira-san, was it?"
"Yes! U-uhm what's your name, you guys?"
"I'm Ennoshita Chikara!" He put his hands in front of me and I shook it. The other two's still flustered. "I'm Narita Kazuhito!"
"U-uhm... do you happen to be Aria?" Someone did recognized me. Aria is my stage name! "Yes. Are you a fan?" I looked at him. I have a lot of male fans so I don't think this is weird. "My younger sister likes you a lot and sometimes I accompany her when she shops for clothes. Can I... take a picture with you? If it's okay." He said shyly, while looking at the ground. I looked at him and smiled.
I love my fans so much. I will never deny them of a simple thing like this. I wouldn't be here without them. "Actually... we could do one more thing. Can I?" I asked for his phone, he unlocked it and gave it to me. "What's your name?" I asked.
"Kinoshita Hisashi." He shyly said. "Mm. What's your sister's name?" I asked again, opening the camera app on his phone. "Ichika." I held my arms and started to record. "Hello there, Ichika-chan! I hope you're enjoying your day always! I'm here with your brother, Kinoshita-san. We're both wishing you well! Maybe we could go shopping sometimes!" I ended the video and then we took a photo.
After I did my rounds, I sat next to Kiyoko-san. The whole team then started their practice again. I glanced at the girl next to me, she's being quiet, like always, but I wanted to talk to her. It's almost been three years.
"So... Kiyoko-san, why did you tell me to call Nishinoya 'senpai'?" I pouted. She laughed at my expression. People seem to laugh at me a lot these days, given how Rinko-san did earlier. "I saw you earlier looking at Nishinoya, you know. You just couldn't see me." I blushed again at the thought. Why am I blushing too much?! Do I have a fever?! The other logical explanation for all this is... is... is... ugh! I can't say it! Rather, I won't! I don't like him, do I? It's only been a day! You can't like someone that instant, right?! Why am I even flustered?! Why am I even asking myself? Ugh! I just proved my point!
"I-I didn't! W-what made you t-think that?!" She laughed again. Is no one gonna take me seriously now? I just pouted at her. She didn't even respond to me! I put my attention back to the practice and my eyes wandered the room.
Kageyama-kun and Hinata-kun just did a quick attack and It blew my mind! That's the first time I've seen anyone hit like that ever since I watched Daichi's games. I looked at my brother and he seemed really proud. Aww, I'll go tease him later on the way home. He's such a dad. The rest of the practice went very smoothly and then they started a practice game.
"Akira-senpai! You should join us!" Someone shouted. I looked and it was Hinata. I'll say that he's the friendliest of them all. He's even the most energetic. "Okay!"
Because of my short height, I became the libero of my team. The team consists of me, Daichi, Tsukishima, Yamaguchi, Suga-san and Ennoshita. The other team is Hinata, Kageyama, Tanaka, Kinoshita, Narita, and Nishinoya. In the span of five minutes, the game became intense, sending spike after spike.
Tanaka-san made a spike and our blockers couldn't receive it. It was very powerful and is heading straight toward me. I positioned myself to where I think the ball will land and...
I received it. I received a powerful spike that not even our blockers could stop. The whole court was silent. I looked nervously around me until my brother smiled at me. The court was suddenly filled with cheers as they could not believe what I did. He embraced me while the noise continued.
Hinata and Kageyama went to the net and to talk to me.
"How did you do that, Akira-san?!" Hinata asked while jumping around. Even Kageyama looked very shocked. "W-Well... Daichi trained me." I sheepishly answered. Daichi now rest his arms on my shoulders. He head locked me after hearing my answer. "Ouch! You big dummy!"
I scowled at him and pushed him away. The game went on and I really had fun! I love the vibes that I'm getting with Daichi's team. They felt like family. I'm finally home.
The volleyball practice was over. Everyone was heading out one by one. The first one to leave was Tsukishima and Yamaguchi. They gave me the impression that they can't be apart from each other, given on how they're always on each other's company, even between games. Suga-san called me as those thoughts ran through my mind.
"Akira! Come on, head out with us!" I ran to catch up with them. We walked towards the gates of Karasuno. The group consist of me, Daichi, Suga-san, Tanaka-san, Nishinoya-san, Hinata-kun and Kageyama-kun.
We passed a convenience store and I just had an idea. "Waaah! Let's go inside, Daichi! I'll treat everyone meat buns!" I tugged on his hand, trying to convince him. He rolled his eyes but smiled and agreed to me. He can't say no to his only sister!
Our group cheered when they heard I'm treating them. We went inside the store and took our food.
"Akira! I'll take a couple of energy drinks okay!" Daichi said while opening a fridge.
"Just get what you want! Tanaka-san, Nishinoya-san, I'll pay for those!" I saw Tanaka-san took a yogurt from the shelf while Nishinoya took a bag of chips.
"Really?!" They said in unison. "Yeah! I told you it's my treat!"
"I guess you're my senpai now!" Nishinoya commented. I blushed again, remembering what I did with Kiyoko-san earlier.
I bought a couple drinks to add to our little picnic. I paid on the counter and the cashier looked at me. He has long blonde hair that's styled with a head band, he wears a yellow hoodie and he has a cigarette on his lips.
He put down the magazine he's been reading and started scanning the items. His eyes suddenly widened and looked at me. Ugh... Why though? I looked over to the magazine he put down and there goes my face. On the page... Of Tokyo Journal. Just how many people in Miyagi bought that volume?! A blush crept into my face. I don't think I'll be able to keep my secret for too long. Should I wear disguises from now on? But those are a pain in the ass! I had to wear masks and sunglasses when I used to live in Tokyo, so I can freely roam the city.
I'll admit though, his reaction is quite funny. He didn't bothered me for a picture though. He just gave me the bag and sat on his chair again, putting his feet up in the counter.
We all went outside the store and chatted while walking home. "Akira-senpai... Why did that guy looked at you weird?" Hinata asked. If my secret is out, I might as well be at least truthful, right?
"He... Recognized me from the magazine, Hinata-kun." I glanced over to him and his mouth is shaped in an 'O'. Sudden realization crept Kageyama's face and reacted like Hinata. Daichi chuckled at the sight.
"Wow! So you're a model, Akira-senpai?" He pressed. I nodded and stars filled his eyes. Tanaka looked thoughtful for a moment and fished something out of his bag.
He gave it to Hinata and Kageyama and I realized that it's the same issue that everybody else has. It's the latest issue in Tokyo Journal. I was lucky to be featured there, honestly.
Suga-san laughed at the sight before us. "Oh! I forgot to do something!" Suga-san said. I looked at him curiously and he took his phone in his hand. "Let's take a picture! To commemorate Akira's return here in Miyagi!" Suga-san said.
I feel like crying! He's always the most thoughtful one! I used to tease him and called him Suga-mama because of things like these. He put his hand out and we smiled.
I took the phone from Suga-san's hand and looked at the picture. Daichi rested his arm around me and put two fingers on my head, making me look like a rabbit for the picture. Suga-san winked at the photo while Hinata made a jump shot and Kageyama just stood on his place like a rock with a meat bun on his mouth. Tanaka-san squatted a little, mocking Nishinoya-san and caused him to make a scowling face. This photo is perfect. They're perfect.
Suga-san sent it to my social media account and he added me to a group chat.

Suga_Koshi added Official_Aria into VB Group chat
Suga_Koshi:
Look, Akira-san treated us snacks!
[Attached photo]
*Official_Aria set Suga_Koshi's nickname into 'Sugamama'*
Sugamama:
Akira, what's that for?!
Official_Aria:
What, it's funny.
Sugamama:
We talked about this!
Official_Aria:
It's been years, Suga-san! Just accept it :3
Daichi_S:
Stop it, you two.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I looked over to my brother and squinted my eyes at him. He shrugged.
"This is our street, bye guys!" Daichi said to the rest. I waved good bye to them and they did too. Daichi rested his arm around my shoulders and said, "I'm really glad you're home, sis."
Nishinoya's Point of View
Ryu and I was ecstatic when we heard that Akira-san's paying for all of it. We never turn down free food! We're happily eating on the way home and then Shoyo said something about the guy on the cashier.
"Akira-senpai... Why did that guy looked at you weird?" Shoyo asked her. I didn't saw that! Akira's the only one who's in the counter by that time. I could've saved her from that creep!
"He... Recognized me from the magazine, Hinata-kun." So it is her. There's no doubts now. We're attending school with a model?! And our captain's dating her?! WHAT ARE THE ODDS?!
"Wow! So you're a model, Akira-senpai?"
Suga-san said that we should take a picture. Stupid, Ryu! Making a joke about my height! I forgot that there's a picture being taken. My phone pinged and saw that Suga-san added Akira on the volley ball group chat. He sent our photo to the group. I looked so stupid here! But my face still looks dashing so I won't complain. Heh! We're the lucky ones! He basically rubbed it in the face of the rest for going home too early!
I clicked Akira's name and I was directed to her account. I quickly followed her account. It's full of photo shoots, behind the scenes and her food from cafes. I smiled unconsciously. Ryu looked at me funny and poked me on the ribs. I lightly punched him in return.
"This is our street, bye guys!" Daichi shouted while Akira waved at us. I waved back like everybody else. 'Our'? They live together? Daichi put his arms around Akira and proceeded to walk home. I watched as they went home together, almost looking too wistful. Ryu slapped me in the back, startling me out of my daze.
"Noya-san, stop being weird!"
"Huh? I'm not weird! You're being weird!" I pushed him and he just laughed. Suga-san walked in front of us silently. Ryu put his hand on his pocket while walking. He said, "I just can't believe that Daichi-san has a girlfriend, you know. I've always thought he'd end up with Yui-san." I thought so too.
She... Akira-san didn't strike me to date guys like Daichi-san. There's nothing wrong with him... it just felt off. Suga-san seemed to be listening to our conversation because he stopped walking and looked at us.
"Huh? Daichi-san has a girlfriend?" Suga-san asked. He looked at us expectedly. Eh? I thought they knew! They even said they knew Akira ever since their first year together! Don't tell me I thought wrong! No, we thought wrong! I'm not the only one!
"Eh?! But... Akira-san is Daichi's girlfriend isn't she?!" I asked them. Are my nerves too obvious?! I wasn't as invested to the thought, right?!
3rd Person's Point of View
The third year looked at the two boys and then laughed. Suga held his stomach out of laughter and wiped a tear off his eye. Tanaka and Nishinoya just stared at him weirdly until Tanaka suddenly shouted. "No! I'm sure he's her boyfriend!"
Tanaka gave a subtle glance to the other boy, of course unknown to Nishinoya. 'Don't let Noya-san know about this' Tanaka signaled. He stopped laughing. The moment Suga laughed, realization dawned on Tanaka that Akira and Daichi must be siblings. After all, they have the same last name. Second, living in the same place and they're being openly affectionate.
Tanaka didn't want to let Nishinoya know so he can push his buttons. Tanaka thought that Nishinoya has been acting weird ever since the girl appeared on their class. On breaks, when the two of them hanged out, Nishinoya spaced out. Since the morning Nishinoya saw the magazine that he was holding, the one he borrowed from a classmate, Nishinoya became quiet. Tanaka knew that it must be the girl. She's very pretty and sweet, what's not to like?
Kiyoko-san is still my girl, he thought. Tanaka just wanted Nishinoya to be happy. He never had a girl in his life and Akira seems like a good match. Nishinoya was not being himself with the whole Asahi situation. He's only practicing with the team but he's not planning on sticking around for a real match. Even though Nishinoya has him, he still felt that Nishinoya should have another companion on his life, a girl who will care for him and love him.
'If they think I haven't noticed the glances they've been sending each other, they're so wrong.'
In the Sawamura's household...
Daichi and AKira was greeted by their mom.
"I'm so glad you saw each other already! Pretending not to know anything is so hard, you know." The two siblings laughed at their mother's comment. They showered and got changed in their own rooms and went to the dining room for dinner.
The family was reunited once more and was happily eating on the dining table. They shared stories to each other. Akira, on her time in Tokyo and her family, who remained in Miyagi.
"So... any boys caught your eyes yet?" Her mom casually opened up the topic and Akira choked on her food. Daichi scrambled and passed her a glass of water. She downed the drink in a few seconds and panted.
"Mom! Jeez." She said after taking a few hard breaths.
"What? I'm just asking!" Her mom defended. She's very curious on her daughter's social life, given that they've been away for too long for her own liking. Hell, she doesn't even know if her daughter has been seeing anyone when she was living alone in Tokyo. Knowing small bits of her daughter's life is the least that she could do as her mother.
"And to answer your question mom, no. No one! Nuh-uh." She said, almost as if she's guilty about something. That small one named Nishinoya totally did caught her eye. She thinks that he's so intriguing. They have met each other's eyes for a few more times than she intended on the very same day and she doesn't know why. She didn't know, that Daichi is looking at her. Daichi isn't having any of what she's saying. He's certain about her and their libero.
The dinner continued smoothly and they've been catching up to each other. Akira told them about her time in Tokyo and her career.
"So... I've landed some major gigs in the city so I'm hoping that I'll make it big sooner or later. I've been working really hard for my career, and then balancing school. I thought that I should prioritize family and school first. My career will come later." The girl smiled at her family. Daichi looked at her adoringly, thinking how lucky he is to have her on his life. Her mother put her hand on top of her daughter's.
"Oh! And mom, we have some very promising first years. I really think that we could make it to the Nationals!" Daichi said excitedly. "Really? That's amazing!" Their dad cheered. The family was just happy to be finally reunited and become whole.

They all went to their own rooms. Akira lied in her bed and looked up at the ceiling, realizing that her glow in the dark star decorations from Junior High is still in there. She sighed. I really need to change these, it looks childish, she thought. She tucked herself on the bed and closed the night lamp and drifted to the night, her dreams carrying her to the arms of a certain small, black haired male.
