Chapter 5

~Next day

"Marty" Maoris squealed as she jumped up and down on my bed waking me up.

"What?!" I shouted at her, getting ready to throw her off my bed if it wasn't important and get some more sleep. "Today is shopping Saturday, have you forgotten" she said sitting down on top of me and crossing her arms. Every last Saturday of the month we go shopping.

"Oh no" I said slapping my hand on my head. The last time, mom and Maoris spent two hours choosing between shorts and trousers.

"And this time, guess who's coming along" she said getting up and standing in front of me.

"Oh no, don't say it" I said looming up at her in disbelief that they were actually going to call Yvonne to come along. When the three of them are involved we could even stay there the whole day, because Yvonne gets really undecided when there are too many good options.

"Yvonne" she said, clapping her hands and twirling like a little child. "Get out, I'm not coming" I said pointing to the door. "Mom said you have to come" she added and glared at me. "Uhh-I'm having track practice" I lied. "Is that so?" she said, not convinced at all. "Now get out of your bed and get dressed" she added, turning around to leave.

When we got to the mall, it was packed with people. We got to the skirt section and I picked a few skirts because I am not really a fan. I spent less than an hour getting my clothes while my mom had to go and get some groceries, when she got back Yvonne and Maoris still weren't done. I sat down on the bench in front of the store to wait for them and coincidentally met Gill. "Hey cupcake" he said walking up to where I was seated. "Gill, what brings you to the mall today?" I asked surprised to see him here. "Oh, yeah I came here with my little sister and my mom for shopping. My mom insisted that I come" he said, scratching the back of his head. "Glad to see you. I was forced here by Maoris, and now they are going to stay here forever" I said throwing my hands up in the air in frustration. "I know right" he said scrunching up his nose. "Hmm, what do we do while we wait for them?" I asked putting my hand on my chin and pondering. "I have no idea" he said. "Oh lets get some ice cream" I said cheerfully. "Yeah, that'll be nice" Gill said with a smile.

We went to the ice cream store and bought for ourselves. We talked about some school stuff and some other things, we waited for about two to three more hours and it was already 38minutes past 5'o clock. After some more minutes, I spotted my mom, Yvonne and Maoris coming out with dozens of shopping bags in their trollies.

"Finally" I sighed. "There she is" Maoris said walking up toward Gill and I. "Oh hey Gill" Yvonne added when she saw Gill beside me. "Yvie, how are you doing?" Gill asked standing up. "I'm good" Yvonne responded with a smile. "Gill, what a pleasant surprise" my mom said. "Yes ma'am" Gill replied with a smile. "We should get going" I said patting Gill on the shoulder. "Umm, yeah, see you at school on Monday" Gill said hugging me. "Bye" we all said and went to the car. We dropped Yvonne at her house and went home.
