Battle

2b's POV

2 weeks later

It's been two weeks and Creed hasn't returned, scouts near the desert withdrew from their posts because of the invading army.

"They'll be here in a couple of hours." said Anemone, "We have all the trip wires and explosives set up."

"I still want to partake in this." sighed Avery

"We already lost Creed, if we lose you we don't have a future. All hope will be lost." replied Anemone

Avery sighed and sits down on a bench.

"After this battle is over, I'm going out there to look for Creed." I told Anemone

"Okay, that'll be good." she replied

"2b look at this!" yelled 9s

9s ran to me and handed me something that looks like a soft patch.

"What's this?" I asked

"Some of the scouts found it in a room that had the walls covered in blood." replied 9s, "I think that's Creed's."

I looked at the patch in my hand and squeezed it.

'Damn it. Why did you have to go so early?'

My chest began to throb and I began to feel tears well up under my eyes, luckily I had my visors on.

I walk over to Avery and she looks up confused. Until I handed her the patch she realized that Creed was dead. Avery took the patch and started shaking her head.

"Goddammit, you dumbass." whispered Avery

My chest kept throbbing, I didn't know what this kind of feeling this was. It wasn't just sadness, it was something else with it.

"I'm sorry." I whispered to her

I left her on the bench and I walked over to a quiet place and took off my visors. My visors were went from the tears that came out of my eyes. I quickly wiped it away and put my visors back on.

'I'll make sure that Creed's death wasn't in vain.'

"2b!" yelled 9s, "We're heading out!"

I walk towards 9s but he looked at me very closely.

"Are you okay, you're visors look a bit wet." said 9s

"I'm fine." I replied

"But your-"

"I said I'm fine." I cut him off

"Oh okay." replied 9s

We headed over towards our position where A2 was already waiting with a couple of other YoRHa androids.

"We have to wait for the first set of bombs to go off, from there we attack." I said

"After all this what's going to happen?" asked 9s

"We live." said A2

"But Creed is gone." whispered 9s

"Yea, but he'll come back." replied A2

"A2." I whispered, "Creed is, dead."

A2 stayed silent for a good 10 seconds before responding.

"How do you know?"

"Some scouts found a patch in a room that was covered in blood stains. And the patch belonged to Creed." I replied

A2 looked down and just started fidgeting with her sword.

"Dammit." whispered A2

I looked down as I felt the same feeling in my chest increase.

"Right now we need to focus on the battle." said 9s

"Hostiles will be here in 15 minutes." said Pod 153

"Let's get ready." I said

We entered this building and we went up a couple of stories so that we can jump down and strike.

I waited for quite a while until I felt the earth shake just a bit.

"Did you feel that?" I asked

"Feel what?" asked 9s

There was another shake but a bit more violent.

"That." I replied

"I felt nothing." replied 9s

That's when the shaking started to grow more violent and pebbles began to jump up and down.

"Okay, now I feel it." said 9s

The trembling began to grow and a faint noise of footsteps began to echo closer and closer. I looked towards the entrance of the city and there, I saw the frontline of the machine army, marching into the city.

"Get ready." I whispered

I watched from below as the machines began to walk right underneath us, towards the first booby trap. About a couple of seconds later the bombs exploded, destroying the first 5 lines of the machine army in an instant.

"Now!" I yelled

I jumped out of the window and down into the enemy lines, stabbing one down as I landed on top of it. I slashed and stabbed my way through the enemy lines with the other YoRHa androids. The resistance behind us were able to catch up with us pretty easily as Anemone was leading another group of androids towards us.

One machine tired to punch me but I sliced off its arm and stabbed its head with my sword. My pod kept shooting his machine gun to give me some support but then I felt the earth violently. It was worse than before, the the earth shook and debris from the building were falling. I looked up and I saw a Goliath class machine approaching us.

"Anemone we need to fall back!" I yelled

I grabbed 9s and ran to our fall back point and exploded the entrance blocking the other machines from following us.

"A2, 2b, 9s, take care of the Goliath while we take care of the other small machines." yelled Anemone through the transmission feed

The three of us ran up to the roof of the building to face off the Goliath as it turned its attention to us. I raised up its arm and brought it down on us. I dodged it and started slashing its arm with my sword, trying to weaken it so that I can have a chance to strike its head.

That's when the Goliath raised both of its arm and dropped it on us. Once it landed I jumped up onto its arm and started to run across its arm towards its head. A2 done the same but with the other arm. I got to it head and I jumped off and stabbed its eye while A2 stabbed its other eye. This caused an explosion sending me off its head, I was falling down straight towards the ground where I will obviously die. I saw my pod try to reach for me but it was too far.

'Looks like its the end for me.'

"2b!" I heard 9s yell from the rooftop

I closed my eyes and waited for the impact but instead I fell on something soft. I opened my eyes and there stood Creed holding me in his two arms.

"Am I late?" he asked

"Creed?" I was shocked

"Yea, I'm here." smiled Creed

"I thought you were-"

"I'll explain everything later. For now you've taken down the Goliath, let's assist the others." said Creed

I noticed that he was carrying me in the same position I carried 9s after I saved him from Adam. I felt my chest throb as my heart started pounding again.

"Hey 2b are you okay?" asked Creed

"I'm fine, thank you." I replied as he lowered me to the ground

We ran back to the battlefield where the remaining androids were fighting the remaining machines.

"Creed you're alive?" Anemone was shocked to see him with me.

"Yea, that's why I'm here." said Creed

I joined the battle as I saw A2 and 9s fighting off the remaining machines.

"2b you're okay!" yelled 9s

"Yea I'm fine thanks to Creed." I replied

"Creed?" questioned 9s

That gave him an opening and I saw a machine raise its arm ready to strike 9s, but a bullet went straight through its head killing it and saving 9s.

"Focus 9s!" yelled Creed

I continued fighting and fighting, for the sake of humanity and for the sake of Creed.
