Fione stood quietly behind Cailina, her gaze lowered as she remained attentive. Her master's guest appeared to hold ill-intentions, and she wouldn't leave Cailina even if told to. She was sure of the rumors that would circle after their meeting.

The maid's subtle dislike for Edward was noticed by Lai, who stood on Cailina's left. He glanced at Fione as the latter kept gripping her finger. He turned his attention and met his lady's guest eyes.

It was a brief moment, but Edward seemed to recognize him.

Unaware of her servants' different views about her unwanted guest, Cailina smiled at Edward. She denied his request for a visit for quite a while, but the latter was persistent, leaving her without any choice.

Duchess Grandis was occupied with her worries to even think of her daughter's matters. Cailina realized that her mother's state has worsened, she waved her hand for Fione as her maid serve the second pour of the tea.
