A 15 year old Romaine' life, is about to change; thanks to him inheriting something called the X-Gene. But he's not the only one who inherited the X-Gene, and not everyone decided to use it for good. So now he has to protect the world from other supernatural individuals.

Velocity

Well, it's the day of reckoning. Black Zero is going to pay for everything that he's done.


Dondre, Cas, Kyle and I, all went up to the Campsite bright and early. We setup tents, and even a barbecue grill to make it look as if we were actually planning on staying.


We barely exchanged any words with each other, not really knowing what to say. The morning was growing old before we finally got some results.


"Something's coming." Informed Cas, looking at her tablet


Before I could ask what the problem was, my question was answered.


We had trained for Black Zero, but instead it was Donte. Suddenly I felt all my anger and hatred return.


"Is this some kind of joke to you?" I accused "You set this up didn't you?" 


"And why the hell should I believe you?"


"You have to believe me. Black Zero already knew that I told you. He came and told me that I had to fight you. I don't want to. Please believe me."


"Romaine, there's no need for violence." Kyle stated, "I can just knock him out and we can leave."


My anger and hatred completely took over, and before I could react, I had already channeled all of it into my fist and punched Donte in gut.


"He's a speedster. He'll walk it off." I said


"Let's go.." I said, "This was a waste of time."


"What happened to him?" Kyle undertoned


"Did something happen to him in the prison?" went Dondre


I scoffed at their comments, shook my head and sped off.


I didn't want things to turn out like this. Everything just sucks. I lied down in the spot where Romaine punched me for a long time. It just kept hurting and wouldn't stop. The sun started to go down, and that''s when he came again.


"Please, just leave me alone." I begged


"I no longer have any purpose for you."


"Hmmm. I might in fact have some use for you in the future. I will overlook your incompetency and leave you alive, for now. But if you are to get in the way of my future plans, I will not hesitate in killing you."


"I will now have to put your sister to use, as she would prove more capable than you."


"What do you mean? What are you going to do to her?"


"Hush, child. My plans are none of your concern."


"All will be well, if you don't get involved."


He ran off before I even got to say anything else. I really hope Shante will be ok.


Black Zero went back to his lair, to put his plan into action.


"Your brother, is awfully incompetent." he says


Shante looks up at him, her face appearing to be lifeless. The shackles weigh down her wrists. She has neither the energy nor the will to respond to him. 


Black Zero vibrates his hand, having a lot of electricity generated in the process. He places his hand on her head, surging electricity through it. Shante hopelessly screams out of sheer pain.


After removing his hand, he helplessly cackles.


"Tomorrow, my child, you will carry out my will."


Shante was breathing heavily, unable to respond.


"And should you fail, to carry out that will, I will take the life of your brother."
