Chapter 70: Sibling Synergy

Donte's POV

Shante ran left and I ran right. Together we knew each other's moves without saying anything. We circled the block multiple times to build up enough electricity.

As we ran around I kept hearing the words of the Prince echoing in my head from our time training.

"In the battle field, the most most important aspect is to analyze your opponent. Closely study your opponent, pinpoint their strengths and weaknesses, then exploit that."

So far he's only made a big circular wall out of diamond. And he's only been using it to protect himself from attacks; and he's only made one at a time. So if we just break through his defense then we'll be able to land a hit.

Shante and I both charged electricity into our fist, then ran towards him. We constantly mirrored our movements to confuse him. Once we were close enough to hit him, Shante and I threw our fists forward, but he blocked both of them by creating separate walls.

"So he actually can make more than one at a time." I said

We stepped back as he laughed at us. The fist I that hit his shield started to hurt really badly; and I could tell that Shante's was hurting too.

"Just what is that thing made off?" I asked

-"Almost completely carbon by the looks of it."- Cassandra said, "The monitors are reading 99.7% carbon from them."-

"Isn't that a gas?"

-"That's carbondioxide. Carbon is a natural element found in the earth. It's the same material that diamonds are made from."-

"So I was right then, his weird walls are diamond."

-"Not exactly; normal diamond can only conduct up to 1,000 - 2,000 Watts per meter, W/mK for short. And the electricity that you two were conducting in each of your attacks was around a million Watts; yet there was barely a scratch on it. Meaning that the conductivity and durability of his crystal is at least 1,000 times more than diamond."-

"Yeah um, that's a lot to take in at once."

-"What I'm saying is that his ability allows him to create super-diamond barriers. So the way to beat him would just be to amplify the electricity of your attack."-

"Well that sounds easy enough."

"Donte watch out!" Shante screamed, making me realize that there were a bunch of crystal swords being thrown at me

I easily dodged them, but it was still a big surprise that he could actually do something more than just those shields.

"Close one there." I said

-"Remember to stay focused lads."- Sensei told us

"Yes Sensei. I remember."

More of his words from our time training echoed in my head.

"If you're ever outmatched in strength by your opponent, there's always a way to win by outsmarting them. Use your knowledge to your advantage."

Yeah but how in the heck am I supposed to outsmart an indestructible shield?

Just as I was thinking about that, Shante came up with a plan to hit him. Without even exchanging words, I knew her plan and went along with it.

I nodded my head, telling her that I agreed to what she was thinking, then we raced off.

We circled him a few more times to build up more power, then ran far enough behind him.

"What I'm about to teach you can be applicable in many situations, and either of you have likely been involved in this before; energy siphoning. By absorbing the excess energy of another, you can in turn temporarily boost your own."

I ran in the front with Shante close behind me siphoning my energy.

The diamond dude turned around to face us and immediately made another wall.

When we were close enough, we split in opposite directions. His eyes were focused on me because I was the only one he could see. Which gave Shante the perfect chance to run to his opposite side with the added speed and punch him.

"Ha." I laughed, "How's that for outsmarting?"

-"Well done both of you."- Sensei said

"It was all Shante's idea." I told him, "Good job sis."

"It was nothing really." She said, "Just using what he taught us. And I couldn't have done it without you to give me your energy and also block him from seeing me."

"I'll admit." the diamond guy said, getting up from the ground, "I'd be toast right about now if I didn't always have my skin coated in a thin layer of my crystal as a safety precaution."

"Not good." Shante said

"Can you people never stay down?" I questioned

Soon he started to float off the ground, then his diamond crystal was appearing all around him.

"What's he up to now?" I asked

"We should probably step back big brother." said Shante

A giant crystal fist crashed down on the ground, nearly crushing both of us.

When all the smoke that his attack cleared, we saw probably the coolest thing I've ever seen in my life.

-"Is that, a mecha?" Romaine asked

"That's so cooool!" I shouted

Diamond Guy was now inside of a giant mecha-suit made out of his super-diamond crystal.

"I've had enough of you kids." He said, trying to crush us multiple times again

"Can a guy not enjoy an awesome giant robot in peace?" I asked him as I dodged all of his attacks

Shante and I ran around to generate enough energy for a speed punch again; it didn't even scratch it like last time, but this time it hurt a lot more.

"Ouch." I went

"It's no use." He told us, "My mechanoid is made out of a reinforced version of my original crystal, which is over 10 times stronger."

"So we couldn't break it before, and now it's even tougher? Oh brother."

"And we can't try what we just did because now he's being protected from all sides." Shante added

Before we could even say anything else, he started crushing buildings with his mech and throwing them at us.

"Woahhh." I went, "That's a lot of damage."

At that point I thought of a way to stop him.

"Now what I'm about to teach you is a lot more on the offensive side, and is highly destructive, so be very mindful of when you use this."

By now it was clear that Shante already knew what I was thinking without me even saying anything.

We raced off, running around the entire city several times.

"Your positive and negative energies aren't dissimilar to the forces of yin and yang; though they're powerful on their own, combining them creates a force much greater than the sum of their parts. Though under normal circumstances, combining positive and negative energy would cancel both of them out, in cases such as yours where the energy is compatible, what you get is something that they call 'Zero Energy' back in my universe."

Once we both built up as much energy as possible, we ran back over to where he was and went towards him head on.

"Zero Energy is derived from Zero Point Energy, and can potentially destroy reality as we know it if mishandled. That said, if used well you can overcome just about any hittable obstacle."

Diamond Guy stood and watched as we came running, confident that we couldn't break through his mech.

With Shante on the left and me on the right, we channeled all our energy into out opposite fists. (Shante did her right fist and I did my left.) Constantly closing the distance as we ran, we were running out of time to do the move.

We slowly joined hands, trying to contain the massive energy that was being created by them. My blue lighting and Shante's purple lighting on our joint hands started turning black and white, and was creating crazy lightning effects that shocked random stuff as we ran.

When close enough, Shante and I jumped in the air, throwing forward our hands that were containing the energy into his mecha's chest.

"Zero Energy Cannon!" We shouted, unleashing the full power of the attack

Not only did his crystal break into a thousand pieces, but instantly disintegrated after. It looks like it even shattered the thin layer he always keeps on his body, and threw him back miles.

"Now that, was the coolest thing I've ever seen." I laughed

-"Bloody hell."- said Sensei, -"The two actually managed to pull it off."-

"Well of course we did." I answered

Looking at my left hand, it looks like the energy from the attack disintegrated part of it too; and the same with Shante's right hand.

"We did it." Shante cheered

-"I don't even know what to say"- Romaine said

"Let's just hope that dude didn't end up getting vaporized too or something like our suits did." I joked, before giving my sister a high five
