Chapter 17: The Tamer Pt. 2

Making it up the high stairway oza decided to pass the time with some questions with ali.

"So if you had to guess what do you think the third option is to this?"

"To be honest with you i'm clueless but good on you for noticing that the other felines weren't hostile that actually took me by surprise."

"Well they were stalking us if they were their to kill me they would have jumped me without even letting me know they were there. All cats are anxious when an unfamiliar individual enters their territory. Since they're naturally predators anyone dumb enough would attack them head on just seeing them, but you gave me a heads up that they were wary."

"You seem to know a lot about cats, is there any particular reason?"

"Well back home and i mean before i started all this i used to live with my family and we had a family cat, she would always hide under beds or couches when someone she didn't know came into the house and when she wasn't hiding she was silently watching like she was going to attack.

"This.. is the first time i'm actually hearing about you talk about your past."

Well you never really ask so how can i? And i think it really just depends on what we're talking about,"

"You have a good point."

the thunder and lightning were going to work the higher they went up and communicating was getting harder and harder. Oza and ali just braced for the heavy rain and the wind that came along it, oza saw the top as he and ali made one last push to the top, when they arrived it stopped raining or so oza thought.

Oza looked behind him to see that it was still raining and it was almost pitch black aside from the lights barely lighting the pathway but once he looked forward it was clear and the moonlight shone above giving off the scenery of an amazing full moon surrounded by the infinite mass of stars the also illuminated the night sky

"So what is this place anyway, as much as i love rain the moon always wins."

"It is the heavenly tower that pierces even the sky!" A loud thundering voice echoed as oza tried locating the voice he looked at the arena in front of him to see a proud lion standing taller than any normal lion with beautiful black fur and yellow lightning marks going across it's body and it has also piercing yellow eyes same as oza.

"Again human! What brought you up here?! So you wish to tame the mighty king of the jungle!?"

"If that is what i must!"

"Then that will be your undoing."

In the blink of an eye harley had already pounced oza but oza managed to dodge just in time and drew his dagger.

"Is that tiny weapon what you used to slaughter my subordinates? Do not make me laugh you pitiful human!"

'This guy is fast.. not as fast as arthur but in terms of pure raw strength this guy wins.'

"Don't act so dazed when you are in the middle of a fight!"

Oza had dodged but wasn't able to full recover because of the scratch harley had inflicted on him making oza trip and lose footing.

"All humans seek to conquer even if it is a battle of pure talent. Humans have no shame and honor they will do as they want and do not care of the consequences."

"That isn't all true!"

"Silence you insolent fool! I'll make you a deal, land one measly blow on me or survive 10 minutes without getting heavily wounded!"

"Then i won't back down either!"

The fight raged on as oza tried doing things his own way, he activated both aranami and overkill to out speed this outstanding lion but harly had miscalculated oza's top speed and oza jumped around the arena looking for that opening. When he noticed the black lion look a bit tired he decided to jump on hi and the deal the final blow.

Oza landed on the lion and safely, the lion did not approve as this is shameful. He tried do the robo rodeo where the mechanical bull shakes you off but oza wasn't letting go he finally got his dagger and slashed the king's back making him fall to the ground in pain.

Oza deactivated his abilities and walked his way to the beast he defeated, he looked at him and same goes for oza.

"You really are something else, to think you would be able to beat me the mighty harley.."

"jeez wake up! This isn't how i want to end our fight!"

"You.. human, how can you... trust someone so easily even though i tried to kill ya."

"I don't trust you, you still need to earn it. So I think now would be the best time so that's why you should become my ally. Let's say you become my familiar! I'll treat you well as long as you stop the rain.."

"i can do that."

"Now harley do you surrender?"

"Yes the king of the jungle loses and hereby announce the winner oza as my owner. Thank you for this second chance oza, i'll make sure you are treated well."

"To you as well."

A pop up appeared as oza opened it up and looked at the results.

"Oza look we already completed option C, Befriend the lion king and you will gain him as an ally"

"Harley summon? hey harley can you transform?"

"If you mean i can do it." He then turned into cloud of smoke and from the smoke stood a small lion cub looking up at oza "This is what i look like when i conceal myself."

"That is entirely adorable!" Oza put harley on his head and harley snuggled up. "Now harley stop this rain."

"As you wish master."

The rain had stopped and oza had noticed that he was on an island and when he looks below him the tower is really tall. Overlooking the view the night sky illuminated the place and shown every inch of it. The other cats saw oza and bowed down to him.

"Why are they bowing?"

"Because you are the one who defeated me."

"That's nice to hear." suddenly a cheetah appeared beside oza with his long sword in it's mouth. He smiled and walked over to the cheetah, he grabbed his sword and patted the cheetah dismissing it as it quickly went away "This place is really beautiful shame it was destroyed."

"There is a reason to that, the people who once lived here perished due to one of their comrades, angering me and thus i rained upon this place for thousands of years and now is the first time it has been free of the endless cycle of rain."

"That's really neat.. now harley let's go back to my home."

"Very well master."

Harley bid his subordinates good bye as oza, disappeared into blue pixels and was now back in his room.

"I told you ali we would be back by dinner."

"Yes yes.. but oza you have a new friend mind if i hold him?"

"Yeah sure thing."

Oza handed harley to ali as she cradled the little cub in her arms. Smiling oza left them to bond as he got cleaned up and got dinner started, they all ate happily especially harley.

"That was one of the shorter quest no?"

"Yeah, it only took about 8 hours since we departed at noon."

"But man i'm tired, let's hit the hay and talk more in the morning."

"I agree~" Harley said yawning.

The all smiled as they got ready for bed and soon harley and oza fell asleep as ali smiled at the sight and disappeared into blue pixels
