First Day of College

It is the first day of school, Reese and Aila decided to meet up before going to their respective classes. Reese was already there when Aila arrived, the smile on their faces were instant as they saw each other.

"Girlfriend!" Reese exclaimed as soon as she saw Aila, she jumped and hugged her friend.

"Girlfriend! Are you ready for our first day of college?"

"I was born ready! How about you?"

"Quite nervous honestly, I'm not sure if I can make friends again… It's too hard you set the standard too high hahaha"

"Awww, you're so sweet, just promise me that we'll find time okay?" Reese squeezed Aila's hand.

"Of course, let's do that call me whenever we can go together for lunch."

Reese nodded in accordance. The two girls parted ways walking in opposite direction.

Aila went to her class, she was quite late for her class, and most of her classmates are already settled in their seats, she peaked inside the classroom, and she let out a big sigh seeing her professor is not yet there.

As much as she wanted to go inside quietly, her classmates were all on eyes on her as she walked towards the available seat left; she walked with her head down, avoiding judgment for her first day of tardiness.

Aila noticed the girl beside her; she was smiling at her and looked a bit nervous while she was smoothing down her skirt.

"Hi, I'm Macey."

"I'm Aila." Aila smiled back and reached out her hand to Macey.

"I don't mean to bother you, but are you a model?" Macey did not hesitate to ask Aila who was checking her phone.

"Well, sometimes I get some small modeling gigs." Aila was startled that she was recognized nevertheless she humbly and politely replied to Macey.

"I knew it, you are the soda girl and the jeans model right? You are way more beautiful in person; those photos don't do you justice." Macey's eyes were gleaming with awe.

"You are the first one to recognize me that fast." Aila chuckled, wondering how Macey figured her out.

"I am a fan, I wanted to find your name for the longest time and you know what the funny thing is?"

Aila's eyebrows furrowed, "What?"

"I can't find any information about you aside from your photos in those advertisements, It seems like you don't really exist, it came to a point that my friends and I thought you were just a digital composite for the perfect woman."

"Aaawww, that's too sweet; you see I am real person and I am not perfect; but still thank you for your nice words."

"It's not just being nice dear, I am being blunt and real" Macey giggled as she can't believe that the soda girl is in front of her in the flesh.

Aila's family made sure that information about her was not available anywhere until her coronation. It will be a security nightmare if it will be known that a princess is studying at a local university.

"Well it is a deal with my agency, I'd like to keep my personal life private as of the moment so I can study in peace. I hope you can help me keep it that way." Aila smiled at Macey.

"Sure thing, but can I get an autograph? I promise I will just keep this, I will not form a fan club or brag about it until you decide to be a public figure." Macey' eyes were begging her to agree.

"Of course, it is my pleasure."

Macey handed her notepad and pen to Aila. This is the first time someone asked for her autograph; she knows this piece of paper will be valued a lot after her coronation. She thought of a way to make it more meaningful and valuable for Macey.

"Would you like to take a photo with me?"

Macey's eyes lit up when she heard Aila offer a photo.

"If it's not too much to ask, then please, it will be an honor for me." She was flabbergasted with joy.

The two girls took a selfie just in time; their professor came in readily started with their lessons.

Aila decided to take lunch on her own since Reese was not available. Aila was searching for the perfect place to eat in silence, she understands the stares she's been receiving since this morning; for sure someone will come up to her and ask her out.

To her surprise, she saw someone familiar waiting outside the campus, he was bringing white roses. Seeing him from afar, Aila can't help but complement his appearance. He was standing outside the campus, while he leaned against the wall with his head down. She can clearly see his freshly shaven face and deep-set eyes. She can see how other women going out of the campus were staring at him with admiration.

"This guy is so hot I can't even..." Just as she was blabbering those thoughts, Yhuan lifted his head and met her gaze. He immediately let out a charmingly reprehensible smile, sunshine flooded her soul. He waived his hands and rushed to meet her halfway.

"Hi, why are you here? Don't you have classes?"

"I came to see you… I do have classes but I just want to ask if I can join you for lunch."

Yhuan stretched his right arm to hand Aila the bunch of white roses he brought while he jammed his other hand in his pocket.

Aila could barely conceal her delight as she accepted the flowers.

"Sure, I prefer somewhere near though, I don't want to be late for my next subject."

"Let's go then." Yhuan offered to help Aila with her things.

Yhuan ordered and paid for their meal; Aila refused at first but he was insisting on paying for it.

"You don't have to pay for my lunch, it's not like we're on a date; we just accompanied each other for lunch."

Aila's independent personality showed with her comment as she ran her hand through her hair. That action rather looked too seductive for Yhuan his heart thumped so hard he had to loosen his collar.

"I can never let my woman pay for a meal." His words were loud enough the people around them definitely heard him.

Aila was surprised by his straightforwardness but deep inside she felt a solemn sense of happiness.

Aila was relieved that Yhuan came for her during lunch; no one bothered her while eating plus the fact that she did enjoy his company.

Yhuan brought her back to the campus's gate, before he left he handed a letter to her.

"What's this?" she raised a brow.

"A love letter." He smirked.

"I know, I mean us, we text all the time, is there anything else you haven't said in text?" Aila was being sarcastic with Yhuan.

A corner of his mouth curved into a smile. "Keep my letters as receipts of my love."

She turned scarlet, and lowered her head. "I can't promise you that I'll answer your letter."

He lifted his shoulder in a half shrug; "I'm not expecting you to write me back, as long as you accept my letter, that's already more than enough for me."
