Ghost

"Okay, I want to let it out in my chest, I feel like suffocating because I've been keeping this for more than two weeks now…" Aila brushed her palms together, not knowing how to start with her confession.

Reese patted her shoulders urging her to continue.

"Yhuan has ghosted me, no show, no texts, and no calls for more than two weeks now. It is just that I feel frustrated about not knowing the reason behind this guy's stunt."

"Do you miss him or are you just curious about why he did this?" Reese was trying to be subtle to Aila; she's finding the right timing to tell her about her gut feel about Yhuan.

"To be honest, yes, I do miss him, I don't think I would be bothered like this if I did not enjoy being with him these past months. "

Disappointment was evident in her face, but she can't figure out Reese either, it's like she's keeping something from her.

"Have you contacted him already?" This straightforward question struck Aila so hard, doing this is so easy, but she can't put herself to do it.

"By the looks of it, you're scared… scared to know the reason, most especially if you find out that it is because of you."

Aila's mouth fell open, "How could you just pluck words out of my mind, words I couldn't just blurt out myself."

Reese pursed her lips, and winked at Aila. "I told you I know your soul."

"Don't be too proud, I know yours too; I know that there is something bothering you and please spit it out already I can't stand your face."

Reese hit Aila on the shoulders lightly, "What about my face?"

"You look constipated." They both giggled hard that Reese was holding her abdomen which was hurting because of too much laughter. She tried composing herself and wiping the tears because of laughing too hard.

"Silly girl! Okay, I don't want you to get the wrong idea, but there's just something about Yhuan that I find off; I'm not sure what it is but I can assure you his back ground is squeaky clean."

Aila forehead puckered; "What do you mean? You investigated him?"

"Yes I did, I'm sorry I just wanted to make sure…it is for your safety." Her mouth snapped shut after those last words; she wanted to know what Aila felt about her confession.

"It's okay you don't have to feel bad about doing so, I mean it's your job after all... And mom, she called me about that too, she had Yhuan investigated."

Reese felt a torn had been plucked out of her chest by the way Aila responded.

"I don't know, but what if he ghosted me because of these investigations…"

"That is highly unlikely, because if he was aware of the investigations, he will be informed about you being a princess and I'm sure that, if he knew; he won't take it against you… most especially if he really likes you."

Aila felt s stab of hope, perhaps it really is a different matter.

"Well he better prepare a good excuse if ever he decides to see me again."

Aila was first to reach her bus stop, she waved goodbye to Reese before stepping of the bus. What she saw next caught her by surprise; it is the man wearing the very familiar hooded jacket.

Aila came near him not knowing how to react now that they've met again after two weeks of hiatus.

Yhuan handed her one long stem white rose. He looks like a mess; he got thinner and has dark circles around his eyes, it looks like he haven't had decent sleep lately.

"You don't look well, are you okay?" Aila was worried when she saw Yhuan's appearance.

"I'm fine, I'm sorry I was not able to contact you these past weeks… but I want to explain everything to you."

Yhuan's voice emanated a tone of despair. Aila felt his frustration and sincerity she easily agreed to hear Yhuan's explanation.

"Go ahead, I am listening." Aila looked straight in Yhuan's eyes.

Yhuan inched forward towards Aila, he grabbed her hand and pulled her towards his motor bike.

"Come with me…" He placed a helmet on Aila's head and assisted her in boarding the motor bike.

"Where are we going?" Aila was skeptical about Yhuan's plan, this is the first time she ever rode a motorcycle. Her heartbeat is so fast; it can get off her chest and leave her there.

"Trust me and hold on tight." Yhuan confidently told Aila as he started the motorcycle and headed their way.

"vrrroooommm" Aila held onto Yhuan's back like what he asked her to, but she held on to him tightly because she was too scared of the speed.

In a blink of an eye, the security of Aila was in scramble. They were not expecting such an event; they followed the princess on board the motor bike making sure she will safely arrive wherever they are heading to.

"Security alert, the princess is on board a motorcycle, destination is unknown." Reese was alerted with the message in her smart watch. She immediately checked Aila's phone GPS to track her, she realize the route they are going to is towards the city hospital…

"Security alert; I think they are going to the city hospital, please send team 2 at the city hospital immediately." Reese immediately relayed the relevant information to her team. Some of their security staff went directly to the hospital while others were still following them closely.

As Yhuan parked his motorbike, Aila still can't feel her feet, and she's feeling quite dizzy. Yhuan noticed her wobbly stance when he helped her took off her helmet.

"Is there anything wrong? You look pale."

The color of Aila's face has drained out, and her breathing is just recuperating while she is utterly confused why they went to the city hospital.

"Why are we here?"

Yhuan held her hand and squeezed it close to his chest. "I will explain everything to you later, thank you for giving this chance."

They went inside the hospital; Yhuan guided her towards the elevator. Aila was quiet but is anticipating a good explanation from Yhuan. He felt the eagerness and confusion in Aila.

"Please don't be nervous, I want to introduce you to a very important woman in my life."
