were you alone that night? "
" why are you not moving ahead of that night? " saiph forced his words.
" now were you? " Bliss demanded.
" yes, we were alone "
" why are you sucking my energy. What 'we' ? Who was with you ?"
" Blue and I were alone "
" that means Blue was with you. You were not alone. "
" No, we were alone "
Bliss was seriously pissed off.
" you don't want to hear that Blue could be disloyal! " she said.
" do you want to say so? "
" honestly, no. I don't know but ,he is very likable . I like him "
" oh my God! I've never seen a better lier then you " Saiph laughed.
" yeah! If you ever get to enjoy two years in prison ,because of a lie. You'll see how much I hate this word " she frowned.
" tell me something. Is it that bad? " he leaned forward in interest.
" you are at large, pray it remain that way "
" what do you mean? " he asked seriously.
" I'm kidding "Bliss didn't think she had to explain that.
" oh " he was relieved.
It made Bliss think ,could it be possible that he is involved in a crime. Saiph was seriously acting like he was a prisoner at large.
She dragged the topic to see if what she felt was true.
" my boyfriend got me out " she said.
" and where is he now? "
" in jail. Perhaps " she was severely judging his every move.
" won't you help him get out of there? "
" I won't "
He nodded thoughtfully.
" Those old people get food stuck in their throat so often. Then I've to help them throw up " ,she build up a story.
He had his head held down,he was just listening quietly.
" yesterday David got my hands drenched in blood "she carefully added.
Saiph sighed and looked up , still quite.
" he was vomiting blood . We had a similar case before. Luke died of it "
She used the names to see his reaction. She had a guess that David Luke was his father.
Saiph looked at her with sharp eyes, he understood.
" what's up these days Bliss? " he said attackingly.
" you know , caring old people " she was in to face things.
" more like dead people? " his tone was not so friendly.
" you know better " she smiled.
" definitely. Which is why I'm leaving " he got up and started walking away calmly.
She hurried after him " where to? To your father? "
He turned around with a terrifying intensity , as he would shove her against the wall and hit her, his eyes reflected it all.
" he is not my father " he whispered intensely . His dark eyes were too vicious and too close.
Bliss felt a wave of terror run through his body, the gaze was too powerful to stand against .
As he was about to move back, she said under her breath ," then who? " he was not expecting this level of uneffectiveness. She herself was not sure, where the courage came from.
He held her arm, as if she will run away after taking such a risk.
" why are you doing this? " his intensity was not dropping.
" I'm helping you " she was loosing herself.
" you are deluded " he said lowly, trying to say that she was only hurting him.
" Damien has written today, about.. "
He stepped back and said in a breath " I don't wanna know ",then letting go of her arm he walked away, leaving Bliss with no reason to follow him.
**********
Everytime Bliss would try to link the information to get the real story, Saiph's eyes would haunt her. She was slowly becoming terrified of what she should have been of before. Saiph's power, his personality , and somehow his darkness. He is a man of secrets, and you can't expect someone like that to be like usual people. She forgot that, and the realization was terrifying.
On the other hand, Saiph was in the same chaos. He would think that He could've set boundaries with Bliss . He could've treated her as just another person in his life , although with a little more knowledge about him , but it didn't matter, or at least he could pretend it didn't.
He could've prevented opening up about himself, but deep down he knew he needed it. His secrets were heavy burden on him ,his boundaries left him all lonely, his fears never allowed someone to get close to him . Keeping things buried inside himself, made him hollow from within.
Both of them were lost. Self blame was eating Saiph from inside, he hated the idea of blaming Bliss and to blame himself was destroying him. Tears that would refuse to flow out to relieve him from the pain, kept his eyes wet for days . He smoked too much that the words would choke his throat. His nights went sleepless and days were vague.
If David is not his father , but husband of the women ,who is most likely his mother, he could be his step dad, that explains the rage too. But who is Damien? Who could be most effected by Merry's death?
Her thoughts were disturbing her. All she could think of was Saiph's rage. It's been more then a week, she planned to visit him, offer an apology if needed but to make sure he is alright. He had a bad way of dealing with happiness and pain.
Saiph sat in the terrace, under dark starless sky, but his eyes are moist enough to reflect the shine of the slightest rays of light.
He was smoking cigarettes and even in the open sky the smoke was trapped around him.
" may I have one? " .
He turned his head and found Bliss sitting with him.
" no " he said in a smoky voice and sucked on his burning cigarette .
She moved forward to snatch it from him. He put it out by rubbing in the floor. " what are you doing? " the smoke that filled his mouth blew right on Bliss's face.
" you got it in my eyes " she closed her eyes
" why are you here? " he ignored his complain.
" to say I am sorry "
He stared at her in an awe . His guilt pained him.
" OK what? I said I am sorry "
He didn't have words.
" there is no need to be sorry "that was all he could say .
" sarcastically? "
" no. Seriously. "
" ironically? "
" Bliss. Just leave it ".
After a moment of silence, they laughed . A burden was elevated from both of them.
