Chapter 10: Too Fast, Too Slow, Yet Too Wonderful

Luka had experienced the best sleep in thousands of years, perhaps because he was cradled in Xavier's arms. He couldn't find the words to describe the incredible feeling of being embraced by his soulmate and inhaling Xavier's scent throughout the night, even in his dreams.

Luka paused, then spoke with a hint of concern. "How much time do we have?"

"For what?" Xavier gazed into his soulmate's eyes, searching for the source of his worry.

"I'm not naive, Xavier. I know that what we have won't last forever—this safety and peace. One day, it will fade away, and I have no idea..." Luka hesitated before continuing. "How much time do we have, Xavier?"

Xavier met his soulmate's gaze, and they both knew the answer. "Not much."

"Then we must make the most of this time we have!" Luka beamed and hugged Xavier. "But before we go out, tell me, is the mansion anything like the stories humans tell?"

"What do you mean?" Xavier asked playfully. Luka was right—they had a limited amount of time to spend together in peace, so they should make every moment count.

"You don't know?" Luka played along, enjoying the game. "Creepy, scary, bloody, and, um... filthy?"

Xavier chuckled, his laughter a charming sound to Luka's ears. "If that's how you envision our mansion, then I'll gladly show you a different perspective with an official tour guided by the devil."

Luka laughed, his cheeks flushing at the mention of "our mansion." It felt incredible to have such a lighthearted conversation with the devil, and he didn't hold back in expressing his thoughts. "I guess no one has ever dared to talk to you like I do!" Another laugh escaped his lips.

"You didn't dare to talk to me like that yesterday. I suppose we both needed a sleepover," Xavier teased, causing Luka's blush to deepen. Yet, a small smile graced his lips. "Now, shall we?"

Xavier extended his arm, and Luka gladly took it. It was their first time exploring the mansion together.

When Luka had left Heaven's mansion, he found himself in the same room where they now stood. However, there hadn't been much time for him to take in the surroundings back then.

They left the room and entered a hallway. It was a sight to behold—beautifully adorned with white walls adorned with tiny red stars. There was no carpeting; instead, the mansion boasted white wooden parquet floors, and numerous chandeliers with yellow crystals illuminated the corridor.

"This is not what I expected!" Luka exclaimed in awe. "It's so bright and magnificent!"

Xavier smiled at his soulmate's adorable reaction. "Just like your eyes." He watched as Luka blushed at his flirtatious remark.

"Stop that!" Luka protested with a slight smile, his cheeks still flushed, as they continued walking toward a grand silver-gold gate. "I can't handle blushing all the time!"

"And I'm sure you smile because you dislike my words," Xavier said sarcastically, his eyes filled with amusement. He then opened the gate and led them into the mansion's main area—the throne room. "And here we have the throne room."

Luka looked around in wonder. "This is such an unusual layout. You can access the throne room through a hallway that has bedrooms. Strange."

"It's not that strange!" Xavier defended, observing his soulmate's entertained expression. Luka enjoyed debating even the most trivial matters, but that was just one of the things Xavier admired about him. "Every part of the mansion is connected to the throne room."

Luka gazed around the massive room with his silver-blue eyes, taking in all the details. The theme of the room was white, just like the hallway they had come from.

At the top of the room sat Lucifer's imposing black and white velvet throne. The walls were white with vinaceous dots, and the floor matched the hallways, adorned with numerous paintings.

"The floor is so empty!" Luka observed, his eyes scanning the paintings on the walls. Suddenly, his attention was caught by something that looked familiar.

"There are usually demons waiting here for their missions, but I dismissed them all for our little tour so they wouldn't scare you and—" Xavier stopped mid-sentence when he noticed Luka's intense focus on one of the paintings. "Little soulmate, are you listening?"

The new nickname piqued Luka's interest and brought a blush to his cheeks, but he brushed it aside as he pointed at one of the pictures. "Is that… me?"

The painting depicted a young child in a green field, surrounded by classic toys and holding a ball in his hands. The child's eyes were brimming with life and joy, wearing a white T-shirt and a black overall.

"Oh, that!" Xavier seemed taken aback by the question. "Yes, that painting... Um, did I mention our garden in the mansion?"

Luka smirked at Xavier's reaction. "So that's me!" Seeing the devil nervous was a rarity, and Luka enjoyed the sight. It wasn't something you witnessed every day—Lucifer's nervous and embarrassed side.

"Let's just skip that," Xavier mumbled, a faint blush coloring his face, which only fueled Luka's excitement. Inside, Xavier was glad to see his soulmate so happy, even if it meant his own embarrassment.

"OH MY GOD!" Luka laughed with childlike glee. "I just made the devil BLUSH!"

"Luka! I'm warning you! Stop!" Xavier attempted to sound angry and threatening, but it was difficult when his soulmate was laughing and jumping with excitement.

"I deserve a prize for that!" Luka chuckled, but suddenly, Xavier grabbed him and pulled him close to his chest. "Um… What are you doing?" Luka blushed.

"You were right… you do deserve a prize, and guess what?" Xavier's playful smile was contagious, and he whispered in Luka's ear, "I deserve revenge, so let's mix them, shall we?"

"What do you—" Luka started to ask, but to his surprise, Xavier silenced him in a way he hadn't even imagined.

Xavier kissed his soulmate, and after a moment of surprise, Luka kissed back.

The moment was entirely theirs to cherish, and they made the most of every second. Love and desire for each other consumed their thoughts as they let their emotions take over.

Xavier pulled back for a moment. "I know it's soon, but I need you to know it. Luka, I love you." He kissed Luka again.

Luka smiled between the kisses, and this time, it was his turn to pause. "I can't imagine my life with anyone else but you. I love you too, Xavier."
